Most Important Email You Ever Missed!

Hi Guys,

We all know that email filters and also our typical inboxes are filled up daily with new emails. I once missed an email about a domain cancellation after a rebill on autorenew failed.

Lucky it wasn't an important one! the lesson I learned is to maybe not use yahoo for those important mails, and not mix business use email with personal emails and also on marketing lists etc.

What is the most important email you ever missed because of filters OR too many other emails from all the marketing lists?

Gmail is the best for business email. I can filter my domain problem in 'domain' folder and every email that related to 'domain' will be archived to 'domain' folder. This goes for another email in another topic.

Results, clean inbox that only contains urgent emails.

Yeah Gmail is a good solution. Has anyone on here missed anything they really wished they hadn't... something that had some consequence?

I find that Yahoo has been especially problematic with filtering my emails properly, and MSN is equally as bad in this regard.

Gmail does a much better job, but it's still not perfect. It does work much better at filtering emails than any of the other free email services I've encountered, though.

Apparently I once missed an email informing me I had inherited a fortune and all I needed was to hand over my bank details,
On a slightly different tack, I once emailed my boss instead of my mate to ask him if he was ‘doing’ the blond accounts assistant

Without a doubt, I have found Gmail to offer an outstanding service. No. Not perfect but, with a little effort, it comes very close.

It is quite good at filtering, but dammit when they do put a non spam email in the spam folder, it tends to be my more important ones. That's probably been about 6 emails in the last year or so.

I now check the spam folder at least every day that I check my email.

Don't believe I've missed any yet, but I'm aware of the possibility and on the lookout for a problem.
