How much time do you spent in forum? What you do there? Is it worth it?

My answers is two hours at weekend and that is for forum marketing. What I do now to contribute my first 15 valuable posts in this forum. What I do is worth it because if I contribute, I get myself recognized.

I ask this question is because many people spent hours or even days in forum. I can't see why they do that.

I mean, isn't it more profitable to:
- Spend your money creating your next amazon product review?
- Or setup your payment system if you launch new product?
-Add 'product updates notification form' in your product download page to get buyer list?
- Creating your next report?
- Acting upon what you already know?

I don't say that spent time on forum is useless or anything. But from what I see, many of forum user is:
- Trying to learn too much, trying to find 'that' magic pills.
- Don't set a clear deadline in forum, they spent their days online, reading posts, opening the next thread, rest, try to figure out the next big strategy next days, repeat and rinse...

So, what do you think?

I personally write out what I have to do daily
without shifting focus even If I have to visit forums.

It must be on a purpose.

Time is too precious to be wasted dear!

A plan should be put in place.

I agree, and with this post I have accomplish my goal of 15 posts this week. I can change my signature and start promoting my product through this forum from signature next week, and I expect three sales to be made next week from this forum if I can contribute 20 valuable posts that related to my product.

This way, I don't waste my time and achieve my goal faster.

      What do you think?

No matter how much time I spend, the information and ideas obtained are always well worth it.

Also, I am looking at reviews of different products of which I have an interest, and these are a great assest when it comes to making a decision.

I try to be ultra-careful with my time here as it's muc too easy to get sucked into reading masses and masses of posts, and then you wonder how you got nothing done in the day.

It's a fantastic place to learn and contribute, but you have to manage your time carefully.

I have just back to this forum today, since long time ago never visit. I believe the best is to understand where the place which is inline with our interest and business focus. Then do a quick visit everyday, unless there is a new important information that we need to know. We should not spend more than 2 hours.

I come and go. Forums like this one can be incredible sources of information, but at the same time, if you don't watch it, they can be huge time sinks.

For myself, I am a teacher at heart, and one of the ways I give back for the kindness of my teachers is to provide information on forums such as this.

Also, I find I gain clarity by explaining things to others, and I've made several changes to my products as a result of a question and my answer in forums like this one. I find that as I write an answer to a specific question here, I mentally review what related information in my applicable product, and if it isn't as clear as it could be, I go back and revise it. It's nice being able to continually update products without having to do new publication runs. Such is one of the wonders of digitally delivered products.

I find that whenever I slow down or hit a wall with a project, I find myself on the forums. This allows me to provide useful information during the time I otherwise might be just spinning my wheels or feel stuck. While I'm answering posts, my mind is still working on my original problem, and I find it easier to work on when I return to the task.

For me, participating in forums like this one help me be more effective overall. They also provide more information about what people need. After all, if one person asks a question here, there are probably dozens that either didn't bother to ask, or haven't found this forum yet to be able to ask. Being able to incorporate information similar to my responses into my products help make them better as time goes on, and helps keep me moving and active.

When I am researching, it is easy to get into a "read forever" loop. It is during these times that I have to set specific goals: What am I looking for, how much information do I need, and how much time to dedicate to it. By noting these before I embark on a research project, I stay on track and don't end up "just chatting" or otherwise losing valuable project time.

If I don't set up my cool timer, I believe that I already suck into this forum. This forum is addictive!!

I must spend more time now doing more research. I want to launch a lot of products. And I'm using this forum as a research material of my new product, and try forum marketing tactic that I develop.
