Is it better to write articles just for directories and not always put them on your site?

Yes, this is what I do. I agree with you, I also lose motivation if I have to wait for the article to get indexed so I find this is just the best process for me to follow.

Yeah but if you post it to the those directories, then if they get published their before the article gets indexed on your site, you'll loose the original content boost your site would get from google right? because it will look like the article has been published some where else previously. Isn't that right?

You will lose some weight with your site. However depending on how well your site ranks eza articles will almost always out weigh your from the start. However if you post to your site first google will quickly make an adjustment and show your site over the eza article. That is once they figure out that the one you submitted to eza is the actual duplicate unless you do submit to eza and get approved before your are indexed then google will see your site as the duplicate and place you below the eza article.

Go to google webmaster tools and change your crawl rate in the site settings. Once you do that be sure to pick up the tools I mentioned to help with your indexing and you shouldn't have any problems getting indexed. Also be sure to insert all of those ping locations in max blog press ping optimizer or your wordpress ping list. Also hit as many of the rss arrogaters as you can and submit your rss feed to them. All of this will help you get indexed super fast.

I do not have to weight more then a few hours for my site to be indexed most of the time. If I do I am always indexed the very first day because of all the above info. Best of luck.

I get more links back to the article on my site then to the ezine article, therefore the article on my site outranks the ezinearticle over time. Google doesn't rank content by whoever published it first, they rank it by what the feel is the most authoritarian version.

If that was the case then please explain to me why most of my eza article get republished a few times plus the given weight from eza site it self. Your site was the originator. There for your site deserves to be above the others. If this was not the case then the heavily linked plagiarized sites who do actually build links to their inner pages would be above your site if you do not build links to it. Google knows dup content they also know which was the original to appear it is time stamped most of the time. They know when they cached it.

Your site shows up after the eza article you are going to be below the eza original article wheather you like it or not. I do not care how many backlinks you build to that page if your eza is indexed before your site then you might as well build links to your eza article instead of your site. They will not put you above he eza article no matter what.

I think you are just not getting enough links to the article on your site. I'm taking lots of links and also backlinking those links. Try it, you maybe be surprised at what happens.

Hi Kea,

It will always be better to write articles for your site, since your site is what is generating your income.

However, you have a syndrome that many young internet marketers have and I like to call it "performance syndrome."

You have to see something succeed before you move on to something else.

Your article has to get index, your website has to make it on the top page, etc. before you can move on to anything else.

The problem is Google moves at its own pace and doesn't really care how anxious or disappointed you get.

Instead of looking at results, I'd advise you to only look at your performance.

How many articles did you write this week? How many backlinks did you get this week? How many eBooks did you create this month? How many websites did you start this month?

And maybe about once a week, check the status of your projects.

If there's something you need to tweak in the projects, it will show up more clearly after one week.

And the best thing is you'll find that you will be a lot more efficient and get a lot more work done.

Right, perfect example. All's I'm saying is if you got some links to the pages on your website (the ones that are now being outranked by ezinearticles) you might move higher than the ezinearticles article. Doesn't look like you have many links to them now but I didn't do an exhaustive search.

Also, do the ezinearticles point back to those articles on your site or to your main page? I'm wondering what effect it would have on the rankings if they pointed back to the actual article in light of what google says about the original source here:

I usually point mine back to my original post whether it was indexed first or not so that could be another reason why I can push mine up past ezine articles posts (but I also add lots of links so not sure if it could be one or the other or a combo).

With apologies, sometimes there just isn't a tactful way to say it: this is entirely wrong.

Pete, surely you know better than this?!

I understand that you have problems with this (and I know exactly why!!) but my little sites get ranked above EZA with no problem at all, precisely because I avoid doing what you're recommending. There are a thousand threads here discussing and explaining all this. Telling people that "you might as well build links to your EZA article instead of your site" is absolutely dreadful advice, and totally mistaken! If you'd like to try to understand this subject, I respectfully suggest you simply take a look at this discussion, or 100 others like it. Seriously, please be kind enough to read some of the threads explaining this subject, before posting such wildly inaccurate misinformation! It will also help you to read this thread, and this post, and this thread, and perhaps especially this interesting discussion. I promise I'm not trying to offend you, but at the moment you're making grotesquely misguided comments while trying to advise people here (:rolleyes

and suggesting to others a completely inappropriate solution to a problem of your own making.

You will have to copy the link locations on some of the pinging locations sorry about that. Sorry about that most the time the ping sites dont use title tags but a few of them did. I pulled that list directly out of one of my sites. If you want I can make a text file on one of my sites if it would make it easier for you. Just let me know it wont take but 2 mins to create.

If I were you, I will first write and publish unique articles on my website first. Then I will spin those articles to 2-3 variations keeping around 50-70% uniqueness and submit them to EA,articlesbase,goarticles in that order. After few days I'll make more spinned versions and submit to more article directories using softwares. My personal favorite is articlesbase, since its published almost instantly (if you are past the 20 article barrier)..

What in the heck are you waiting for? Seriously...

Create a schedule for yourself. If you create 10 articles today and they go on your blog and you want to wait two days before submitting them schedule it.

Tomorrow go ahead and create 10 more articles, post them to your blog and schedule them for two days away.

Your assertion it is costing you time and motivation is only due to a mental blockage, not reality. Change your manner of thinking about the issue, set a schedule and just do it.

My preference is to submit to my blog today, submit to EZA tomorrow, submit to Articlesbase and GoArticles the next day. By keeping articles in folders marked by days it is easy to keep track of them and I do not waste any time.

(Of course, I do not submit 10 per day either.)

You can choose one of the methods above, or simply change your attitude and quit waiting to be productive. It is just an excuse after all.

Also, here's an interesting post on google webmaster central that says that they check that the article has a link back to your site which they then credit as the original source. So, perhaps worrying about whether yours gets indexed first is unnecessary.

Then again, here's a post by Michael Gray that talks about how google doesn't always get this right and his posts are outranked by more authoritative blogs which have syndicated his content:

But when I checked his example he is now ranking first, so maybe it just takes Goog a while to figure it out ... or maybe he got a lot of backlinks to the post (just like I am doing now) and eventually became more authoritative.

You know I have the ut most respect for everyone here at the warrior forum but I have to say this. Alexa I never said to build links to your eza article. I said that if your eza article is indexed before you no matter how many links you build to your article. Google is not going to rank you over what they consider the original. There for it would be better for you to not waste your time building links to that article on your site in the first place.

If things are done correctly the first time you should not have to build any links to your article pages. I only use my articles as a way to bring in extra visitors. Each article is done a really strick keyword list. All those keywords have very very few competitors and have a good amount of traffic coming to them. There for if you do your work right the first time there is no real need to go the extra 20 miles building massive links to your article.

Unless I am targeting a keyword with 200k or more allintitle competitiors I normally do not have to play the interlinking back linking game. For I will almost always get my front page listing just from publishing the article. There for if you do your work right the very first time you do not have to go out and build huge amounts of links. I have several top five listings with absolutely no links heading to that actual page other then the links from my site alone. Yes occassionally I do have to build extra links to my article on my site but not very often because I did my homework first.

Before I even write an article I am at google checking both traffic and competition. If the competition looks like it may be ruff I would look for something a little less competitive that I know I can get that infamous front page with out building any things other then the automatic links that are generated from my auto posters.

No I will not be able to move higher then the eza because the eza articles are not linked to the original on my site. There for google sees that first instance as the original and mine as the duplicate. Even though both will more then likely be on the front page already. There for there is no real need to do any extra linking to either article. That is unless they start falling off the front page then I will start linking them again. While continuing to create new fresh content for my site.

Which I am in a bit of a pit fall on a couple sites right now. Waiting to see if Quinn is going to pass the BLEEPIN Amazon Tax if he does I just lost months of work and about 3 sites. So I have stopped posting to those until I see if this is passed or not.

I see what you are saying. I actually never considered that because I always link back to the original article so even though more links pushed me higher then eza, I guess I might have gotten there anyway without them. Interesting.

Yeah, that Amazon thing is a bummer.... thankfully we have no sales tax in NH right now but in the future who knows?
