Advice on how to get traffic to this site ???

Hi all,

Have built a website which is a shopping mall style for sports and games. The site uses BANS and ebay toolkit to create stores across a wide range of sports and games.

Before you start . I understand the site is a little broad and not targeted enough. I understand at his stage it lacks content ( this will come with time ). I have been told by some that I am banging my head against a brick wall trying to build the (super site ) style site.

What Iwould like is some opinions on whether such a site can be made to work and what I would need to do to this site to make it work. Any suggestions on what I may have failed to do , need to do , what you like about the site, what turns you off about the site.

How would you attempt to draw traffic to the site. I am targeting shops in four different countries can this work.

I know I have a lot of question but I am hoping for some positive direction with regards to this site.

Thanks in Advance

      Hi Peter,

Post your link in any and all places that
are relevant to the sporting goods niche!

The main place to get your link up for
      good weight would be directories...

But even places like, classified ad sites,
link pages, forums etc, and place your link
there and if you have the ability to use a
title, use your keywords in it, of course!

Your layout and colors look really good. However, I would do away with some of the banner ads, especially for non-related sites. Don't get me wrong, I think BANS is great, but do major sports sites like Sports Authority, ESPN, etc have off-topic ads? I believe that if you want to compete with the big sites (which you can) you have to look professional like they do.

  • Hey Peter

I would build a blog instead of a website. Your blog could be
your website. This is very easy to do in C-panel if you don't
have a hosting company that offers c-panel the go to
    Hostmonster.com.

Great Prices and excellent service from my stand point.

Now Why a blog? because a blog can be indexed ASAP
in the search engines. VERY FAST AND I MEAN FAST

Then you need to write articles about your blog and
your different products you offer on the blog then
submit these articles to article directories.

Here are a few Goodones I Use the top 20.

    1. ezinearticles.com
    2. ArticlesBase.com
    3. buzzle.com
    4. pubs.acs.org/hotartcl
    5. searchwarp.com
    6. articlealley.com
    7. articleset.com
    8. goarticles.com
    9. articlesnatch.com
    10. articledashboard.com
    11. web-source.net
    12. articlegarden.com
    13. articlesfactory.com
    14. amazines.com
    15. ideamarketers.com
    16. upublish.info
    17. webpronews.com
    18. articlecodex.com
    19. isnare.com
    20. articlerich.com

Then after you do the articles

You want to do videos about each product and
submit the videos to these Video Sites with a
redirect after the video has ended to go to
    your site.

This should do it for you my friend

    Peter,

I would put the links Home, Sports Library, Games Library, Join Ebay across the top (under the description) in a horizontal direction.

Plus, the google ads...do you really want people clicking away from your site? I think you would make more money having someone stay on the site to buy some actual sporting good then 1 click that gives you 50 cents.

As long as your ads pay you as an affiliate for a portion of the sale, then keep them. If not, get rid of them.

Other than that, superb site! Just get the traffic to it.
