Q: to buy or not to buy???

Can't find the answer for this simple problem.

I have nice opp to buy a very good site for a pretty good price. The problem is that previous owner had disabled adsense account on that blog.
My question is if I buy it and put my google adsense on it will google disable my account too?

Is the content on the site worth it?

Maybe it was a different site that caused the closing of their adsense account.

Why dont you ask them straight up what the issue is before buying?

Ask them straight and wait whole eternity on answer.

Are you listening to yourself here?

          1) Chomping at the bit to buy because it's a "good price"

          2) Taking the word of someone you (apparently) don't know or have a history with

          3) If you ask them a question about BUYING the site from them and they take a "whole eternity" to answer you, then either they aren't interested in selling or they are trying to scam you

Look at it this way - if his adsense was banned for "other" things as claimed, why wouldn't he put DIFFERENT ads on the site??? - there are lots of other ad networks, affiliate programs etc.

I know sometimes people are ready to move on to something else, but IMHO, you'll falling for it here... to make matters worse, you're a little argumentative when people don't tell you what you want to hear.

If it were me, I would look elsewhere - it's a recipe for disaster:

          • low, low price (why would someone not ask the TRUE value of something?)
          • seller slow to respond to potential buyer's questions (really? why?)
          • a ban was involved but no other advertising is being used (unless that just wasn't stated)

Does the site even rank for valuable keywords at this point? I would also be concerned about that as much if not more than his adsense ban.

Your money. Good luck if you go with it.

          All success,

          Gary

I would certainly be wary, if they've had their account closed and it's linked to that website then you may risk your own account if you put adsense on that website.

You're taking the guys word that his account closure was due to something else - which of course he will say if he wants to sell this site. He's trying to make a sale so he isn't going to tell you it's a risky site is he??

Just a possibility, I'm not saying that's definitely the case, but I'd be really wary buying a website with a closed Adsense account linked to it.

If you think that you can get the website for a bargain price then go ahead and buy it and monetize it with some other methods till you find out more about the adsense issue.

I agree with Sheryl. If you really want the site, I wouldn't risk the Adsense account, go with some other kind of ad company until you can totally and fully verify absolutely everything yourself.

If this is such a great site, why the heck is he selling it besides his Adsense account has been deleted? That's a red flag right there -- and there's tons of other ways to monetize.

Did you calculate your return on investment? Theres plenty of site that will give you the deal but you have to remember that if its not going to give you a good ROI then its not worth bothering with it. How much traffic is the site getting? How much are you going to be making with adsense? How long till you make your initial investment back? Is google adsense the only way of making money from it?

It doesn't matter how many times anyone reads the question - no one here represents google or can answer for google.

If the site was designed for adsense - and the person lost his adsense account - I would have no interest in buying it. Others would take a chance.
You have to make that decision for yourself.

Ask Google. No one here has enough information about the issue to give you a helpful answer.

If Google will not answer your questions, then forget the site unless you want to gamble.

There's really no point in asking us this question. Ultimately it is Google who will decide one way or the other, please do not try to seek reassurance from us on this because we clearly cannot give it to you. You either take the risk or you don't - there is no one here or elsewhere (except Google) who can give you a definitive answer on this.

Also, don't forget that if the site has good content, there'll be other ways to monetize it besides Adsense, so if you do get the site, you could explore these other options as well.

Well, we aren't Google and cannot tell you the answer. The obvious answer is do you want to risk your Adsense account? Are you going to rely on Adsense income for this site?

I wouldn't put Adsense on it since it may be the reason the owner's account was banned. If you can monetize it some other way, could be a good deal without risk, but I wouldn't touch it if I wanted to monetize with Adsense.

I agree that you should try to consult Google. While you're waiting, you can also check out the site in the Wayback Machine and see if it's been archived. Maybe you'll be able to see something in the archival records that proves the site was used for shady purposes before?

if the site has good content adn traffic just buy it. do not think of only adsense and stop. quality content+traffic = good money, forget adsense for that site.

BTW, i think you still can use adsense with your pub id. google knows people buy and sell sites.

If you intend to make money from Adsense long term, don't buy that site.

Either buy sites monetized by Adsense only if everything is 100% clean,

After buying the site you should e-mail them and say that the site have bought by you and after that they may request a transaction id or a transfer id, after that they should unbann it from their database, but it will take some time.

Yep, I read the OP and skimmed the rest.

Back on topic, the adsense issue shouldn't matter. Adsense bans accounts, not websites.

When it doubt... go to the source and ask them. Google has support forums for this sort of thing.

    Hi

Have you considered the possibility of having more than one adsense account?

it's perfectly possible as long as you have a different tax entity, name (use someone in your familly or business partner ) , different phone and address and bank account associated with it. You do that by creating a company. Here in the UK all of this would cost less than a 100 dollars.
I don't know what country you live in but considering you are about to spend 2K on the site, I am hopeful the costs associated with creating a new company to be within your grasp.

    Who say that?

Sorry, I cannot follow the logic.
    1. The site is optimized for adsense and you don't want to use other methods of monetization
    2. The original adsense account was banned/disabled
    3. The site is a "bargain"...

How do you know it's a bargain since there cannot be proof of income if the only income generating thing on the site is disabled...? (just because you like bolded questions, LOL)

considering their reputation here, many thanks especially to Gary and Istvan for showing off in my simple tread, don't know where I would be without your wisdom and logic!!!

sbucciarel, TPFLegionaire, JasonMorgan, Paulie, Alminc, KK and others, you took your time to write your opinion, so here is mine answer for you:

I already posted question on google forum and you know how long THEY need to answer (for Gary: not the admins of this site, the google Gary, GOOGLE), so I thought to cut the time and ask you warriors if someone had a similar problem.

I do have several adsense accounts that I have been using for some time. I just love google.

The site I just bought for 1.5k is transaction between me and person that I really trust, I would not buy it from let's say Gary, or Istvan, but from someone let's say I was sharing my diapers with and will share the rest of my life I would.

In the future I'll post more details, if I have a question, so you don't have to speculate, I just tried to keep it simple.

Good luck to all of you!
    Good bless you all!

p.s:Once again, special thanks to Gary and Istvan!

You share diapers - well that's just gross!!!

Seriously though, you came in here asking a question and people answered your question as best they could based on what information they had.

I for one offered advice - based on the information given - and you were quite rude in your response.

Gary and Istvan both gave advice on the information given and both gave solid and very wise advice in my opinion.

Because you don't get the answer you wanted to hear is no reason to be rude! Obviously, you had already made up your mind on this matter anyway so I'm not really even sure why you posted the question to begin with.

oh Sheril, I saw you are sharing their opinion, but I didn't want to mention that, I am gentleman, but you had to appear once again and try to be smart, so here you are:

both guys are very good in making posts same like they posted in this tread, I appreciate their opinion, but they don't app my question, and came here to be smart, I didn't ask for WHO IS SMART, I asked a simple question. Gary was pretty rude in his post with numbering 3 things on which I already gave answers, go back and take a look, his attitude like I am damn fool is really annoying. Same with Istvan, both of them haven't read this tread, just came here to advertise themselves.

Please go back and read them again.

Oh Sheril, I am tired of this tread, I am not arguing, I have no time for arguing, I am just defending!

I have no experience, can't give you advise,
        or,
Yes man do it, it's working fine...

          Wow.

Actually, I read the entire thread, twice... before posting.

If you took my comments as rude, I can't really help that. There's no showing off going on here at least on my part.

I will say that you seem very, very defensive when people don't tell you what you want to hear.

You asked for opinions, and from a business perspective, I laid out mine. If you had a deep trust with this person selling the site, lay that out as part of the equation.

There are LOTS of people that come here, post this very type of thing and have NO relationship with the seller - they end up getting burned.

              Good luck!

              All good with me...

Please understand that there are desperate people that come by here every day. Some are new, some have years of experience.

I am NOT saying you are one of them. Only that it happens every single day.

The desperate people ask a question and they tend to ignore some really big risk factors - symptoms of a potentially bad deal.

It's the promise of big riches, living the dream, etc. I guess that puts up blinders for them, and they ignore those symptoms.

They have an opportunity, feel they can trust the seller or partner (sometimes without any prior relationship), and the clock is ticking - there's always pressure to act right now. There's always one little thing that's negative about the offer though.

They take the leap, praying to finally, finally taste success, only to find out they have been ripped off and wake up realizing they are broke, angry and frustrated.

Similar symptoms and risk factors were in your thread, and I simply didn't want you to jump and realize that the last step you took was over a cliff.

Because you had a relationship with the seller, the risk factors were significantly limited, and that's awesome.

In fact, I think you're making wise choices by essentially outsourcing things that would take hours/days/weeks/months to do. There's always a price point to consider, but purchasing something of value vs getting bogged down in development is one solid way to scale up a business.

              I wish you all success.

              Have an awesome day,

              Gary

    I just read this thread,

You ask a question. You get responses. Because the responses do not match what you want you decide to be snarky. You then proceed to try and humiliate certain members because they offer an opinion based on the stupidity of your responses.

"Just another tell me what I want to hear or don't tell me "thread. Why bother asking if you don't want to listen to wisdom. Now you bought the site so you did not really care what was said you made your mind up so the point of the thread after everyone posted their advice is -NONE
    Sigh

Thanks Will for choosing your words carefully.
Simple question, simple answers, what's wrong with that, I am not humiliating them, they are doing it themselves.
