New Warrior here ...need a few things answered

Hey people , hope you are all good( or getting there ...lol )

Name's Wayne , living here in Jamaica . Anyways, I've started to seek ways to make some extra money (or something to replace my monthly salary ) . My aim is US$1500 or more per month . Here is a basic outline of what I have done so far

a. I have written about 57 articles, ranging on various topics and problems people face everyday. Mind you, I've only posted these articles on goarticles.com so far

b. I started since November 2010, and only made US$7.50 so far.... (yes thats 7.50 , not 75 dollars or even 750

c. I've come to the main conclusion that driving targetted buyers/audience to my articles and website is a major pain issue . I've tried so many ways but I simple can't seem to get results .

I'm not giving up though cause I know I can even get a piece of crumb outta this HUGE PIE out there of making money online

Does anyone here have any advice for a REAL N00B

Yes. Whenever someone new lands in the IM niche, I always tell them there are two ways to making some real fast cash to bank up into the real campaigns.

Answer questions on Yahoo Answers and leave a bit.ly shortened affiliate link at the bottom. Great source of money!

And of course, CashCrate (but do not rely on it unless you are referring!)

  • Hey man,
Its hard work getting started, especially when there are so many people telling you to go in different directions...

Make sure you are working towards your own business, not someone else's..

Find a niche that is in demand, and learn about it... study the different ways you can monetize that niche...

Look at your competition and work out what they do, and improve on it...

Good luck man, Remember to Focus on the long term not the short.....

      Wayne,

One thing I don't see in your plan is keyword research. Sounds to me like that is what you are missing in your article marketing efforts. I would start reading forum threads about the subject until you have a good idea of how to do it and what to look for.

And remember, article marketing is often a matter of time and momentum. After you've published enough articles, the momentum starts to snowball and the traffic (and sales) usually pick up.

I did this on the average last year, but sporadically. I had one $5k month, and one $50 month. Stuff was sort of all over the place in the middle.

    c. I've come to the main conclusion that driving targetted buyers/audience to my articles and website is a major pain issue . I've tried so many ways but I simple can't seem to get results .
First, it's only been three months. This takes time.

Second, you're only putting up about five articles a week, and you're only putting them on one directory. Spread your articles out some more. Get them on your own blog, on EZA, then on a bunch more directories - in that order. Skip EZA if you don't like them, but at the very least have your own blog, and submit to more directories.

Third, start recording your articles in audio and using that track on a video, and get those up in podcast and video directories.

Finally, have a look at who is reading your articles and what they want to buy. It's just as easy to sell an expensive product as a cheap one. Promote something that will pay you more money.

These should give you a noticeable jump in traffic, which should give you a noticeable jump in sales, and with a more profitable product you should start making a lot more money.

And to close this off, GOOD JOB! You're taking action and sticking with it and even asking for help when you need it. You rock. Keep on keepin' on, man.

Could I use one main wordpress blog and promote ALL the things I write about? Like having multiple pages on the wordpress blog so people can view at the site and choose to click on whichever they want?

You could, but in general, you would want all the kinds of articles to be related. For example, you could promote several different televisions and stereo systems on one blog.

But a blog about Italian shoes, yeast infections, weight loss, and camcorders is probably not a good idea.

There are also a lot of people who recommend that every subject get its own blog and its own domain. That can get expensive, so you might want to use the multisite features of WordPress 3 to set up multiple blogs on one domain instead.

I think keyword research and exact-keyword domain names are overrated. I believe they do make a difference, but that your time and energy are better spent on other things that make a bigger difference.

Here's what I can tell you. You could have written those 57 articles for someone else, and sold them for $10 a piece all day long.

I'm convinced that for people that like to write, writing articles for others is the easiest way to actually start making money online.

Actually, I have a couple websites up, which basically advertise or linking to affiliate products! I have about 10 of those websites. Getting valuable traffic to them is my major downfall

@Jamaican2011 I struggle with article marketing. I tried it over and over and failed. Its not something I am really passionate about and found it very difficult to make money. I tried specific keywords, different niches etc but make a bit of cash here and there.
I believe the only way to make money with articles is to outsource your work. It saves you a lot of time and effort and you won't loose focus.

I personally like to use social media, and forum posting the best. I like to be interactive, socialize, and make friends. I now make a full time income from FB and am just repeating my strategy to build up my income further.
