Clickbank Continues To Screw Affiliates!!

Hopefully this is an error on my part but if not it just adds more fuel to the "Clickbank continues to screw its affiliates debate".

Today I was adding an affiliate link to a report in support of a product I want to promote when I noticed that the affiliate id on the clickbank payment page is not my id.

I believe the problem lies with the hoplink encyption code provided by the hoplink shield.

For whatever reason it only appears to work 60 or 70% of the time. The remaining 30-40% of the instances leads the buyer to a different affiliate id.

Anyone else experience the same results or seeing something diffrent? Hopefully it is just my caveman brain not working properly today.

Respectfully,
Tim

    1. Could be the site owner doing something.
    2. Could be a program installed on your PC.
    3. Why use the shield? Use a redirection script on your server so you can track and change the link if needed.

    Whats the link?

If you went to the page you wanted to promote before you put your affiliate link code and looked at it through your code, then your cookies are showing the prior visit.

Clear your cookies and try going through your affiliate link again and see if it's the correct or still showing the wrong one.

Make sure your question is correct. Because in my opinion there is something wrong at your site. So cover it and also give me other information which other people also demanded from you. Hope to read from you soon. Cheers

i have noticed this a few times, even wondering how the heck could I be putting my ID and it shows someone else's .... and also I have seen where when I go to a page to buy(well attempt) the product to see if it was actually my ID is shows, sometimes it shows affiliate = none . I have never tried the 'clearing' cookes fix though

    Appreciate the replies everyone.

I don't want to reveal the site (not because I'm worried about anyone else promoting this product, Hell - I'm probably the last one to the dance anyway) I just don't want the site owner to face any scrutiny over my probable mistake.

I wasn't planning on using Clickbank's script but when you sign up to become an affiliate it is what they now offer in replace of the old hoplink id which was http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net.

When I use the old link everything works properly....when I use the new format it gets screwed up but now having messed with it for the last 20 minutes I see that it appears to be working correctly with each new encrypted link it creates.

(Sigh)....it probably was an issue with my computer and some program running on it but I sure do hate the whole cloak and daggers routine when it comes to try and recommend a decent product in order to obtain a sale.
