Approaching & Contacting Affiliates in Other Niches

Hey guys,

I'm about 2-3 weeks away from my product launch and I had a quick question regarding how to approach other affiliates.

My niche is NOT very saturated at all with similar products which is why I'm having a bit of a hard time listing sites to contact. I've created a product in the Personal Finance niche. I'm list building from scratch as well.

I'm pretty confident that my product would do well from other niche affiliate marketers and my question is how you guys would approach contacting them via email etc. I do have a marketing plan drawn up but for the sake of my launch, I'd love to get other affiliate marketers on board prior to my launch.

Thanks!
Brandon

You will have more luck sourcing out your contacts through social networks etc. Email accounts are full of filters, unrecognized emails constantly overlooked. People seem to pay more attention to their messages on social networks these days.

As far as email goes, make sure you hand write them and send them if you want a good response rate.

High ranking affiliates are always hard to approach because they've got plenty of offers. I'd recommend leveraging the social networks your apart of. Warrior Forum is a good example, I'd take a smaller group of energetic affiliates anxious to make their mark over the so-called super affiliates.

      Thanks for the tip!
I can see social networks being a huge leverage as well. How would you recommend I approach affiliates say here in WF and on other sites? Should I start a thread when my site launches and basically give the "Affiliates wanted" method or do you happen to have any other ideas? I'm thinking of starting a thread just to accumulate some contacts in my niche to start of with.

Social networking sites work kinda okay for me.
Any thoughts to level up the effect? Would like more.

You should sign up as an affiliate and promote other people's products; then talk about your product. Look for affiliates you'd like to work with.

When I have a solid list, this is for sure something I will be getting into. For now I've spent the last year building this product and my focus is getting it off the ground.
