Clickbank -Low Refund product - falicy?

Hey warriors,

I realize Cb won't tell you the refund rates on any of their products
but how can one make any viable assessment?

I mean you can do a search for "low refund" and CB or whatever
combination to try to locate something that indicates "low refund"
but who are we fooling, any affiliate creating a review site would likely say "low refund" rate..

(When I first joined CB I made the mistake of emailing them and asking them how I can determine refund rates on products? and they told me to take a hike!)

any thoughts warriors?

dano~

    Hello Dano1981,

Personally I use CBEngine which gives you all the information you pretty much need for finding CB products to promote.

    One can't.

Attempts to do so (and several websites make them) are pure fiction.

There isn't a way of working out this information. But of two things you can be sure:-

    (i) Refund-rates vary very greatly between different affiliates for the same product, according to how the product's been pre-sold. Some affiliates make unwarranted claims about the product in their pre-sales, leading to disappointment and refunds. Many affiliates "reviewing" products have never even seen them. There's no reason why an average refund-rate, were such a thing available, should be your refund-rate.

(ii) If a product has an unacceptably high refund-rate for a majority of its affiliates, Clickbank removes it from the marketplace, because the transaction and administrative costs involved wouldn't cover their 7.5% share, and they'd make a loss on it.

Am I mistaken? I can always see the amount of money refunded from my sales account.

Unless you are talking about being an affiliate. You can e-mail the vendor, if someone asked me, I would give them a down right truth.

You can see your own refunds, of course. This doesn't relate to the question asked, though, which is (surely?) about potentially taking into the account the overall refund-rate as a product selection criterion.

  • Clickbank product refund calculators do not work if the person has multiple products because the values will be different. I have one page that sells two products for completely different prices. You can either trust the person or assume they are full of crap, it's up to you. Use the product and see if you like it before selling it.
