What do you think about new search engine Blekko? Maybe I Can Track You!

I've heard the name a few times, and decided to take a quick look at it. blekko | slashtag search

According to my browser tools, it is a PR6. The site is pretty simple unless you read the bottom links.

Take a look at the Tools link at the bottom of their page - there is a blekko toolbar to download for Firefox. That's nice, but I really already have enough stuff on the top and footer of my screen as it is.

The toolbar information is supposed to give SEO data in real time and there are quite a few features. It seems a bit more information than is necessary to me.

One is particularly of concern, as to "Adsense: other websites using the same Adsense ID." Wouldn't that mean if you have various niches, use various screen names, and use Adsense on them, all your sites using it could be tracked?

It concerns me that perhaps this feature could be used for other accounts as well. The possibility that a competitor could track all your sites or a web savvy nosy neighbor could begin to speculate on what your earnings or activities might be is distressing. If someone hoped to destroy your account, well, you see the possibilities.

Perhaps Google will provide a way out of being tracked? Surely they know as much about blekko as blekko does.

    did you know that google assigns some sort of ID to every search? If they wanted to they could track anything you do. Where were you when everybody was complaining about google tracking what they do? And even without that people can still follow you without help from google.
    I wouldn't worry about it. If you worry about it too much, you might find yourself in a concrete bunker wearing a lead hat... :-P

    But Blekko looks like it might have some uses.

      Theory5, I am aware that the search engines can track you, especially Google, there probably aren't that many people who don't know about it. That is not the point of my thread at all. I'm posting the paragraph that shows it below:

      Why would this be necessary to point out to the general public on their site?
