Is it just me or do you instantly look at every person who posts and judge their level of internet marketing knowledge and expertise on how high their post count is?

I try not to do it but I can't help it!

I've discovered that there's some stealth marketers working their magic in here on the DL...

I do it sometimes. I try not to of course but it just happens sometimes. I like to look more at when they joined!

If someone has over 1000 posts I tend to value what they're saying a lot more.

I don't tend to look at post count usually.. but if I am doubtful of what they are saying, I may take a quick peek at it It's hard not to value the advice of seasoned Warriors over new ones.. even if they aren't super successful, they have been around the block.

You are aware that the bloke who owns Flippa has under 100 posts? It does put things in perspective I think.

On the other-hand there are some Warriors that should be wearing a face nappy(diaper).

I do base my opinions on what they have said in the past, but not on how many times they have said it.

No - and I have a high post count.

I read what they have to say - that's a quick way to see what they know. One good way to see who knows what is to look at their past posts (through their profile). You'll see some who try to help answer questions, participate in discussions...and some who have nothing to say...but say it often.

You don't have to have a lot of posts or be a long time member to have interesting things to say. Likewise, you don't have to be a newbie or have a low post count to be a doofus either

Like the majority of people I do prejudge a book by its cover, as that is where I see who wrote it. I have always suspected that is what that saying actually meant, as most people buy books based on the author, not the graphics.

The first thing I look at is join date, after, of course, the post itself.

Well.. I always read what they post, but seriously it doesn't mean a person is successful or professional what they said is always right... guess what... if you didn't know sometime they just want to lead the answers to getting ur money...
I mean... that is what marketing is all about who want to always market free... no one... so who's advice can you listen?
Well... there's no answer... the only answer is do you believe in yourself first... if you do ... I guess you will be able to know who you should listen.... that's what I think...

No I don't. Judging by those standards one would assume I have a lot of experience but I can guarentee that there are many who have posted way less than I have but who have way more experience than I do.

Post count has no relation to experience or knowledge. Some of the most knowledgable people rarely post and are busy running their businesses. Having a high post count means you may enjoy conversation but it in no way relates to how much experience or knowledge you have to share.

The people who are making real money aren't posting on boards all day. Post count is absolutely meaningless.

It is tempting isn't it? I catch myself looking at it sometimes. But then I quickly remind myself that it's no determiner. Like Kay said, their posting tells a lot about them.
