Experienced Warriors Only: How many times per day do you email your list

How much is too much?

I know that some email twice a day (AM and PM) others do
daily emails and some do once a week or even once in 2 weeks.

What's your schedule?

In the Internet marketing niche I mail my list 1 to 2 times a day Monday through Saturday.

I never send an e-mail on Sunday. Well, every once in a while on a very rare occasion.

Outside of the Internet marketing niche I mail my list 4 to 5 times per week Monday through Saturday. Never on Sunday.

If I'm mailing twice I will send an e-mail at 8 AM and then the other e-mail at 6 PM.

If I am mailing one time I usually send the e-mail around 3 PM EST.

    Talk soon,

Whats your unsubscribe rate? I would drop off that list in less than a week.

It depends upon the list and the niche.

I segment my lists to identify the most interested/
active subscribers and contact them more regularly
      than the rest.

Not all subscribers are the same so you shouldn't
      treat them the same either.

Too many mediocre marketers have one big list and
treat them all the same. Big mistake.

Treat your lists well by sending them relevant
content and relevant offers, and frequency becomes
      less of an issue.

Test the frequency for your own list to find out the
      best schedule for you.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

Hey Sean, that is a very important thing to consider. I have my list segmented in many different ways. Especially my customers.

My customers are mailed only information and promotions for my products only. The only way I know mail customers is if I'm doing it for a friend. Other than that my customers only see information and offers from me.

I segmented the Internet marketing niche into different sub niches and send information to each of those sub niches based on the actual sub niches itself.

So, if I have a list on blogging they get blogging information.

If I have a list on list building they get information on list building.

However, I will send general marketing information to the entire list. They are all interested in marketing in general. So, I see no harm in actually sending them general marketing information.

But, I get higher responses and higher open rates when I segmented down into each sub list and send specific information based on the niche itself.

        ^^^ This.

After a lot of testing of some of my niches, I now send email to all my lists on days 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15 and thereafter at 5-day intervals.

The broad demographics of subscribers on all my lists are very similar, regardless of the exact niche, as my lists are all built in more less similar ways, and I'm satisfied that it would cost me money to send emails much more than once every 5 days.

  • Depends: Follow-ups daily or every second day, but broadcasts once per week or so.

I send out emails once every 3-5 days in the beginning, then once every two weeks after 60 days.

I can't imagine emailing people 1-2 times per day...but it must work for some.

My lists get hammered 24/7 either by email, phone, texting, fax, mail or in person.

It's a view. I believe some have found that they may do better this way, perhaps telling themselves (and perhaps even rightly, depending on the context) that the inevitable unsubscribers are people who "wouldn't have been customers anyway", given the methods involved? To me, that seems kind of self-fulfilling, in a sense, and must be pretty hard work, too ... but it may be proven to work for others whose lists comprise entirely different demographics from my own.

            @ Alexa

Good point; implicit in my short answer. I actually get very few unsubscribe requests because of our WOW factor. We are in constant personal contact with our clients with lots and lots of free tips, training, news, specials, upgrades, new products, etc. The competition can't even get a word in.

All depends on the list and the niche I am working in. Some niches I can email twice a day and make good money from, others once a week is all I email them.
