How Hard is it to Transfer a Domain Name from Blogger?

Let's say I want to start off as cheaply as possible but I don't want to be building a lot of links (resource boxes for example) to a .blogger.com domain...

So I pay $10 for a years worth of a .com domain name from blogger. And then when I can fit hosting into the budget I decide to pull it. I'm assuming pulling the content won't be much of a problem but will there be an issue with the domain name if, say 3 months down the road, I decide to move to GoDaddy or something?

How about a year down the road?

Register the domain separately now at Namecheap or Godaddy etc, and point it to your blogger blog using the instructions at blogger.

If you are developing content, why not be on your own domain name? After 1 year you'd be in a good position in search engine results. Now a days, hosting is coming for $3.00 - 5.00 per month.

      Just a thought ...

Thanks rondo. That's what I think I'll do.

Well I am planning on being on my own domain name. I just don't want to pay for cheap hosting that might be unreliable when I can just point my own domain name at my Blogger blog and have 0 down time. Then in a while I'll want to mave to a Wordpress format on other hosting...

John if you plan to eventually host a wordpress blog I suggest doing it now from the beginning if you can.

You can get a year of decent hosting for $30-$40.
