Interesting situation - I need to make $180 in 14 days, not life or death but is to me!

by TomBuck 23 replies
So the situation is that I have brought some software and I really like it, I also got market samurai, but I had exams this month so until now my earnings for January is only: $34, (adsense, CPA, one sale.) I had some bad news from parents who said if you are not in profit this month you will have to go get another job. So I really want to get into profit, I don't mind what I do, just so I can get into February.

So where I am at the moment:I have a few hubpages but only get 30 views a day. (They were all promotions for products), not much more really, but I know about internet marketing its just it cannot be done in 14 days.

P.S. I am on a 2 month growing course thing which is where CPA is coming from, but this will not get me $180 in 14 days.
IDEAS?

P.S.S. To the people with the best ideas = MUCH LOVE

Think of your skill set and possible services you could provide for others.
As you said, your automated bussiness isn't big enough to generate that kind of income in 14 days, think of how you can work online for that money. Maybe you can write, offer advice, help someone with their site, a multitude of possiblities. Do something though, as it appears you have a lot hanging on it.
One more thing I could think of is using MSamurai as a service to others.
I have seen many people on this forum ask for keyword research on their specific niche. You could hire yourself for a fixed rate of keyword=$$ or hourly rate, whichever.
The key thing is you get cracking right away. 14 days isn't a lot, but it's more than enough, we're talking about 13$ a day. You can post a few gigs on fiverr and hope they get purchased.
Hope this helps, just realise you have MANY option, don't dwell too long on what to do.

Yes, you can offer some services like writing articles, keyword research, bookmarking services, backlinks, making videos to other members here on Warrior
at Warriors for Hire, or to fiverr or odesk e.t.c.

It's a great a way to make some cash..... a lot of Warriors started their online businesses that way.

I fully agree with this just think of something you can do to provide any service A really hot service is always writing. I my self have had to do this from time to time just to get a little extra cash. So if you have something you are good at online just go create a job in the warriors for hire section. If you can write 100 articles at an average starters prices of 3.00 then you just made 300. This should get you clear into profit.

Now another thing I might suggest is that you do go out and get a job. While you have steady income coming in it is that much easier to get things rolling. I was forced into this last year so I know exactly how rough it can be from the ground up.

I did have a bit of an advantage though because I did have hosting and a couple of sites a year prior. I just never had the time to fully do anything with them. There for things would get pushed off until I had absolutely no choice but to start building the sites and their traffic.

Now I mind you when I started last year these sites might have gotten 1-2 visitors a day. Now each of them gets over 200 visitors a day. I have also expanded beyond those 2 sites to 11 at the moment and plan to have 50 or so by the end of the year.

I am willing to bet you go out and mess around with friends more then you do actual work on building your business. If this is in fact the case. You should really tell them that right now you need to focus entirely on getting things going. Then once you are in the green you can start going out and doing as you wish again. Right now though you need to buckle down and start focusing on what you want and not what others want you to do.

Now I would also like to point out that the last paragraph is not a stab at you. For I do not know your entire situation. I am just saying if it is a lack of focus and work. Just buckle down and start cranking some things out. Stick with one thing you know works for now and focus entirely on that one thing until you are fully comfortable to take on other task.

Hope this helps best of luck to you.

If you do the math, that's a little over 3 fiverr gigs per day for 14 days if you are only using fiverr. Definitely doable, but not easy.

If I was personally in your situation, I'd go the content writing route. At even 1 or 2 cents per word, you could easily reach $180 with just a few large gigs per day.

Of course, you do need to know how to write.
That doesn't seem to be an issue for you though.

One way that I think you have a good shot at getting the money as a once off for some hard work is Fiverr.

If you are stuck for ideas have a look in teh sections where you think your skills lie. Look at what the popular gis are and what they offer and try and work out how you can make your gig better value or more appealing to a buyer.

I started Fiverr from scratch 3 days ago to test out a few service and I am sitting at $45 for work that I really enjoy. I'm basically using Fiverr as a get paid to learn type deal.

Also i have found success by creating gigs that complement each other and encourage people to purchase multiple gigs from me at once. I had two people buy two gigs last night and one guy just paid me three times because he was so happy with the job I did.

You may also find that you can find some repeat clients who will give you work every day. I have three of them already.

It definitely isn't a long term option but Fiverr might be what you need to get you in profit this month. Also nothing is stopping you from doing other stuff at the same time while you wait for people to order gigs.

I do not know the background you have or if you can go outside the 14 days at all but if your interested in a REAL job as an entrepreneur that can help you (again I say... ONLY if you are serious) there is a virtual business that is great! Click the link below if you are interested but in your situation I would say possibly try the old way of going door to door and offering people your professional services.

Definitely put up keyword research gigs at fiverr but realize they hold onto your money for at least 14 days, and they keep a dollar of your $5. So also get some article writing going for yourself. Show your folks the pending payment over at fiverr. Then show them the sales from the articles...you can get that money upfront.

      Get cracking! Good luck!

Writing and keyword research have both been mentioned individually, but why not combine the two? On top of offering both of those services, you could do some proactive keyword research to identify good niches and then sell the keyword lists.

To take it a step further, you could bundle that list with some articles written on those keywords and sell it as a package. For bonus points, look for niches with an exact match domain available (preferably in .com, .net, or .org) and make that info available to the buyer. I'd say purchase the domain and sell the whole package together, but that's putting you in the red for $10.

Even if you only created 5 articles per keyword suite, I bet there are people willing to buy a list of researched keywords, plus content and a lead on the domain name they can use to get a niche site going. Price these at $18 a pack and you only need 10.

Here's an idea. Put up a gig at fiverr, that involves setting up hubpages, squidoo, and other Web 2.0 properties. As a USP, you can say that you are giving a service to setup a series of web 2.0 properties that can be used as buffer sites for link building. Give an additional service to write articles, or send them to an article writing service with your affiliate link.

The most important thing about IM is building trust and confidence with the people you do business with. That means being honest in what you say and do online. Everyone on this forum pisses and moans about false earnings statements by the gurus... but it's not just the big guys doing that!

It would be easy to let this go because you're just starting out and just a kid. I do appreciate what you're trying to do and I'd be glad to offer advice. But before that you'd have to clean up the HubPage with your earnings B.S. on it. Then we can talk business! --Mike

I thought I would give a little update because the help I have got soo far has been awesome. Okay soo Yesterday I got $3, put a gig on fiver and tried finding someone who I can write articles for. So I am a bit behind but trying. I will post an update on this thread everyday, don't know if anyone is interested though.

Tom, I think you're on the right track. If your parents don't care how you generate money on the internet (i.e. not strictly through IM but by providing services), I have no doubt you can easily rake in $180 within your specified time period. Try to provide a variety of services if you can (this is of course assuming you're adept at them), so that you can start making money faster.

Tom, posting your progress here is not just about us seeing what you're doing. It's a way to keep you focused and accountable to your goals. For awhile, I keep a Daily Report of my goals and progress and it was painfully revealing.

An idea that might not yet have been mentioned is to check the Warrior classifieds section where people list jobs they need doing. See if there's something you can do. If they pay you through PayPal, you can have proof of earnings immediately and in your pocket within a week.

Give yourself a break Tom, you're only a young man. The top three niches on the net are money, relationships and health. I hope I don't sound patronising when I say that you can't expect to know much about other people's problems in these areas at your age.

However, there are lucrative areas that a 17 year old would be much better versed in than some of the older marketers:
      • music
      • video games
      • sports
      • school-related stuff
      • mobile technology (phones, iPods & so on)
      • holiday resorts popular with teenagers/20-somethings
      • the coolest places on the net to visit
      • teenage clothes/shoes
      • celebrities
      • the latest films...

Pick something in which you know more than the average Joe, and that's popular with people your age. Start blogging about it. If teenagers hate reading, you could make podcasts or videos. Soon, your blog will become an 'authority' on that subject. Eventually, you'll start to understand what your audience really wants and is prepared to pay money for.
