Browsing facebook groups

I have read many times here the advice to search Facebook groups, looking for groups in my niche and join them.
Is this advice now out of date? Can you still do this? If so, how? I can't find a list or section of groups to search. Googling doesn't help.

    When you search Facebook. There is a list of categories on the left column. Groups is about the 4th one down.

    The new layout can also made me go around it in searching for groups and others. Great to know that you can now start what you're aiming for in facebook groups.

    Also, look on your favorite internet marketing websites. If they're worth their salt, they should have buttons that you can click that say, "follow me on Facebook" or "follow me on Twitter" w/ the Twitter & Facebook symbols. All you have to do is click on the buttons & sign in. Bam! You've joined.

    All you do to join a group is to put the group or type of group you are looking to join in the search box. I just joined a group yesterday did it this way no problem.
