Going from free to paid site...need help!

I just started IM about three months ago, and decided to go the "all free" route until I knew I could make some money. I have sold 6 clickbank products, not much, but at least I know it works. I recently decided that I would take everyone's advice and get a domain and hosting. The only problem is that I feel like I have put a decent amount of work into the free blog. How do I make the transition to the paid version without losing the work I have done. I have a lot of links to the free blog via forums, articles, and blog comments. Any help appreciated!

Leave the free blog in place and start a new site covering your product. You can then use the free blog to link to your new site. Even something as simple as "We no longer update this blog, please see us at....blah blah blah

Thanks, I will make a post as soon as I get the other site ready. Should I edit my past articles to go to the new site? Any more suggestions?

No, I would just have a noticeable link on the front page. Why edit the articles if they are making you money?

I'm not sure if you could say they are "making me money". I have only been trying IM as a side job for about 3 months. Had never even heard of it before then! So far I have made 6 sales, 177 dollars. I don't know if this is a good start or if I should have made more by now? Thanks!

          Hi brit,

If it is a free blog, than chances are you won't be able to transfer the domain name.

So to start with a new blog means that you will have to start from scratch. However as TelexTape said, you can't point your traffic over to your new website from your old one.

You can also go back and change your backlinks so that they point to your new websites.

You want to get as much juice flowing into your website as possible to help it jump through the ranks.
