MyKeywordPlusOtherWords.com or MyKeyword.net/.org?

Hi,

I know this question pops up often, but due to the nature of Google's whims, I was wondering if some of you could give a more up-to-date (and, thus, more accurate) answer.

Ideally, we'd all like to have mydesiredkeyword.com

But if that is taken, which of the following would you go for:

- mydesiredkeyword.net

- mydesiredkeyword.org

- my-desired-keyword.com

- mydesiredkeywordplusotherwords.com

- otherwordsplusmydesiredkeyword.com

Also, what do you think is a visitor's perception of a non-.com domain?

Do you think it is worth, say, going for a less Google-friendly (but still well-ranked) .com domain, instead of a more Google-friendly (but less visitor-friendly) .net domain?

They appear to me to be listed in the order or seo value, and the order I would probably rank them in, the hyphen .com might have the same seo utility as the first 2, but it's tougher for type-ins.

Some would grab both the .net and .org to reduce future competition.

Here are my choices in order:

    mydesiredkeyword.com
    mydesiredkeyword.net
    mydesiredkeyword.org
    mydesiredkeyword.eu
    mydesiredkeyword.im

having said that, just read from a recently bought WSO that this person chooses mydesiredkeyword + a number or 1 letter. com (apparently Google discard the additional letter or number when figuring out the relevancy, although it does make the domain name potentially a bit ugly... )

Not tried it myself... Would love some feedback on that.
