Squeeze Page Marketing Vs Blog Marketing - Is It the Same??

Hi all,

I want to experiment the opt-in conversion rate on a squeeze page compared to the opt-in conversion rate on a blog. I currently have a blog and following the marketing methods recommended in a particular wso. I have an opt-in form on that blog also.

However, after the whole marketing is done, I want to try setting up a squeeze page. Then I want to see which converts better so that I can decide which type of landing page to use for my next project.

So my question is: Is squeeze page marketing the same as blog marketing?

I do article marketing, comment posting, forum commenting, blog commenting, rss feeds, social bookmarking and mass article submissions for my blog.

So do I do the same for my squueze page or does it differ?

Advise please. Thanks very much

Lydia

They are so very different... squeeze page visitors are those who are most likely pre-sold on whatever you are selling them...

Blog visitors expect to find the information they are looking for... for FREE... and if you don't give your blog visitors the free information they are looking for, well, say goodbye to a potential customer for life...

They are two different monsters altogether, and they both need special techniques to be successful.

      Hi Jared,

So how would you suggest I promote my squeeze page? I don't want to do PPC. I've been burnt before although I wasn't promoting a squeeze page then.

Can I still do article marketing? Do article directories accept links in author bio boxes that link to just a squeeze page?

Any other methods of squeeze page marketing you can share with me?

      Thanks again

The reason a "squeeze" page is called that is because there are only two options, opt in or leave. If they want what you're offering, they MUST opt-in. Hence, you're "squeezing" them. A blog is more for creating serial content to get people to follow you. They're two different mechanisms that serve two different purposes.
