I made a couple dollars and now I am hooked!

Well I made a couple dollars selling a book for $1 on a tai chi website I had made to support my tai chi classes and now I am hooked. I deleted the site since it was horrible and this time I want to do it right. I am watching Eben Pagan at the moment teaching the Get Altitude program and was wondering what other programs I should watch.

Also, I hired a website guy to do a site like my last one but this one selling a book on Catholic Mystical Theology for more money. The more I read this site the more I want to do everything myself. The problem is I dont know what most of the technical stuff I read means. Like HTML, I know that is a programming thing but beyond that I am lost.

Am I on the right website?

    If you search around the net there are thousands of tutorials, videos etc on HTML and everything else you might like to know. Sounds like you're on the right track.
    I would suggest using wordpress, or a free site with custom themes and automated systems like xInd.ca so you don't have to learn all that stuff to get all the benefits.

    By the way, if you need to create website today, you don't really have to know about html or any other alien stuff like that. There is something called content management system which will do all the hard work for you.

    One of good CMS that I know is Wordpress. This allow you to make sites with simple steps (only three if I remember correctly) and you'll having your site up and running. Wordpress come with plugins which enable you to improve the features of your existing sites.

    You can make it into blog, ecommerce, membership site, or anything.

    • alampintar, I just joined the Wordpress site and now have a blog. I understand I can somehow turn this into a normal website opt-in thing with a selling part?

  • I've been trying to do the opt-in page and I got a nice program I found here to do it but I am stuck on the Subscription form. I did a quick search to see if I could find help on my own here but didnt have any luck. Can someone tell me how the person who puts in their email info has their info sent to me? I have a generic HTML code for it and have modified it a little bit but I just dont understand how the persons info gets to me. Am I making any sense?

    The great thing is that you created a system to sell your Tai Chi books and it worked. Now build upon your system and scale it up!
