27 Sales on My First 10 Days!!

I've been reading this forum since my last year in High School. And now I am a 19 years old 2nd year college student. I Learned a bunch of stuff but was too scared of failing to apply them. I kept procrastinating, making up excuses etc...

Then, this year, something miraculous happened.. I FIGURED OUT THE SECRET. It is.......

TAKE ACTIONS!

I stopped theorizing, trying to find flaws in every plan and decided to take a stab at it.

I read here about quite a few numbers of people who have lost tons of money in trying to start. So, I went the smart way and started small.

All I did was, go to fiverr.com and offer a few article writing services. THAT'S IT! Everyday, I get 2 or 3 people ordering articles from me. I do my best and before I knew it, I get a couple of good reviews which keep attracting more and more customers. So far (10 days), I have written 27 articles for people and more keep coming everyday.

I even got hired by someone who is starting a new website and wants me to be his writer because he was impressed by the quality of the work I delivered. He offers me $12 per small article.

At first, I never knew this would be a good way to get some seed money. Because I thought, "There are so many people posting gigs on fiverr. What are the odds of mine getting views?!" But, somehow it worked. THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T JUST THEORIZE!

I know that's not much, but it's a start, right?!

Yesterday, I made a full on year plan of the steps to take in order to accomplish my goal. I want to earn at least $2000/month profit by the end of the year through adsense, affiliate marketing, cpa offers and such. Is that a realistic goal?

Congrats on working towards your goal.

Since you are a writer, you may also want to work on writing for residual income so you keep earning from articles you write. I have made close to $1,000 on just one article I wrote and it is still earning. Many writers (including me) make a nice residual income from articles they wrote months ago.

If you are fine with writing for a fixed fee, you can also look into Demand Studios. However, they do edit everything and often request rewrites.

I do not write for them so not sure what they are paying, but it was $15 a article.

Setting a goal is so important. Make sure to look at your plan in a month or so and make adjustments if necessary. I know when I wrote my first plan I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I would have killed myself if I had followed it for a year. So, a month in, I adjusted my plan and made it more realistic and was able to stick with it. It has led to a pretty nice income too.

      Hi Dash,

congratulations...if you are a good writer I think you can make a lot money per month.

If you use your writting skills to expand little further to CPA,Adsense,Amazon e.t.c. the 2.000 $ mark per month is doable.

But right now focus on your writing.

Yes you can make $2,000 per month by end of the year.

I would suggest something here. Just like you said in a red bullet TAKE ACTION, there is another secret to earning $10,000 per month. Let me reveal it here.

TARGET YOUR INCOME FIGURE AND TAKE ACTION

In other words, what I am saying is that if you want to start earning $10,000 per month by the end of this year, you can.

If it works, please come back to me and press the Thanks button on this post on January 1, 2012. I shall look forward.

Awesome first ten days. I remember my first two weeks in IM and the measly $40 big ones I made with Adsense. It was proof that things worked and I've never looked back. Good on you for making so many sales! Keep up the good work and push on to your next goal.

    Nice job! And nice goal.

To help you, here's a question for you to answer (for yourself, not post here if you don't want to)...your post includes how you are currently making money writing articles. Your stated goals don't include article writing. So are you giving up your writing?

Thanks for the feedback and words of encouragement

Now I see how ridiculous it was of being scared of failure. The worst that could happen is, I waste a few hours and figured out what doesn't work. I should have followed that famous inventor's mentality of "[He] didn't fail. [He] just figured out 1000 ways" that doesn't lead to success.

    Nice work Congratulations.
I also started out the same like you by writing articles for other people. I never got $12 per article though LOL. But I wanted to make enough to buy myself some training to start learning more about Internet Marketing.
I then spent some time working for various clients on a freelance site learning more and more by working and getting paid. I was learning about managing sites, building networks, building backlinks, social media and much much more.
I then wanted to go and do these things on my own to make money for myself instead of working for someone else.
I am now making money on line daily and really enjoy it. I love the challenge of putting in work myself and getting results.

I wish you the best of luck.

PS Demand Studios is ok. I used to write for them too but I find it very difficult to write there as the subjects are tricky and you have to put in a lot of research.
    Hope this helps.

    Nice job.

I think Fiverr is a pretty good way to make money.

Keep getting reviews from your customers and if business picks up, start charging more if you can write quality articles.

If you don't have enough business/too much spare time, write a few articles for yourself that you use as sample articles of your work and/or as revenue earners by reviewing products/pre-selling people on products with commissions.

your next goal should be creating your own website offering your writing services, outsourcing it to good writers you find through elance.com, then you become not only a writer but a middleman, taking this whole thing up a level. While you at it, on the side you should do affiliate marketing via article marketing and build a list....

Thanks for the advice. That's actually the next step of that plan I mentioned in the first post. Right now, the goal is to raise money for a bigger project by starting at $0. This way, even if it doesn't work, I am not going to lose any cash out of my pocket. Plus, I will gain priceless experience of "what-no-to-do" along the way.

Congratulations on taking action and getting customers, but now you need to start thinking on another level. Sure, you could go on just relying on getting your few $5 sales a day at Fiverr, but wouldn't it be much better to build lasting relationships with the clients that you pick up from Fiverr? Start thinking along those lines and you will soon find yourself overwhelmed with steady work... and it won't be for just five bucks a pop.

This is good advice. You have a skill which is in demand - if you hone your art and build relationships you could work your way up to charging premium prices for top quality work.

Depends if writing is what you want to do long term...

        Great job!!!

I did some stuff on Fiverr a while back to pick up a few new customers. It has already been mentioned in this thread, but you don't want to rely on $5 deals for your income. It's just too much work, unless that is all your work is worth. It sounds like it is worth much more by the reviews you are getting. You want people paying you $12 per article, not $5.

In your Fiverr ad make it a trial offer. First article is half price (or 1/3, or whatever) for $5. Or you could even say the first 3 articles for $5, and additional articles for $XX.

Also consider what people are using your articles for. They are making more money off of them than they are paying you for the articles. Otherwise they wouldn't buy them. I am not saying to drop everything and create your own website, but that's what I would do with your free time when you are not making money.

    You nailed it.

It's easy to play these negative scenirios in your mind on what may
    or may not happen.

First of all, Yes. 2k a month IS a realistic goal...in fact, I don't feel
it's "big enough", but you will reach that 2k later than you thought,
    yet sooner than you think.

...and then you said this which topped the cake:

"There are so many people posting gigs on fiverr. What are the odds
of mine getting views?!" But, somehow it worked. THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T JUST THEORIZE!"

    Theory sucks. Period.

College teaches theory, and to be honest...being that you're in your
second year in college it's very "odd" you've done what you've done,
and accomplished what you did, because...

MOST colleges teach nothing BUT theory.

...therefore, not easy to break that habit you're "trained" to follow.

Sounds like you did exactly what I did when I was 19. Except, I was
in my 1st year of college and got out while I was ahead.

ACTION works. Everytime. Win or Lose. It ALWAYS works. But NOT
taking action NEVER works because you never tried.

You're on the right path, and you're doing a damn good job. Keep it
    moving forward.

I've found the best advice is always to take action followed closely by diversifying your sources of income. It really has been easier, in my experience, to make a bit of money from several different income streams than making the same amount from one single website or product. Keep up the earnings writing articles, but be sure to be building on top of it as well.

I wish you all the best and congrats on getting so many clients right off the bat, that's impressive
