My Method to Ca$h in with Twitter

Here is my method to make $$ with Twitter.

1) Find a Niche. For example: Muscle Building.
2) Name and design your Twitter Account
3) Sign up at Social Ommph and create an auto welcome message for your new followers and check the box to follow those who follow you.
4) Find a related twitter account with people/fans in your niche
5) Download TweetAttacks free version, follow 300 of their followers, 3 days later, unfollow those who didn't follow back.
6) Tweet 6-8 tips/tricks/whatever content a day.
7) Every now and then tweet something promotional - a cpa offer, a landing page for an affiliate products, a link to a content site to make $ of adsense ads

*Tips:

1) Scale! Create more accounts in different niches
2) Use Hootsuite to schedule your tweets and manage accounts. Its free for up to 5 accounts, want more accounts? - sign up with a different e-mail, or buy the pro version for $6/month
3) Buy Tweetattacks Lite, this way when the software follows other users following it will avoid people with no picture, who tweet links and inactive users. Also you can Schedule your tweets from there and on you twitter account it will say "via web" instead of "via hootsuite" so it will look more natural. although I have to say I find their scheduling set up confusing so I prefer Hootsuite.
4) Interact with your followers, its easy to do this with Hootsuite, just go to the home feed, if anything is related to your niche, reweet it! If people mention you reply to them. Simple stuff.
5) If your tweet is longer than 140 characters, then create a webpage that has the rest of the tweet, along with ads, and bit.ly them on over. Now if you have a lot of accounts then this will be time consuming, so only do this once every now and then, maybe like a few times a month, see how it goes. If you already have a site, just upload it to a random subpage and clock the link with tinyurl.
6) Don't worry about making your profile look amazing, it doesn't have to be mind blowing, don't spend too much time on that
7) Create a website related to your niche, post about 10 articles on it. Direct users to this site in your auto welcome message. Every now and then, instead of finding content and posting it, just rewrite it, post it to your blog then link it to your twitter. - extra adsense income.

*Action Plan

1) Pick 1 Niche
2) Think of your Twitter name see if they are taken, settle on one.
3) Create a G-mail in the same name
4) Design your Account with an appropriate background picture and description.
5) Find Related account and follow 300...., ect.
6) Find Content/tips/tricks related to you Niche and schedule tweets for the next week. Don't promote anything until after a month when your account is established.
7) Every week load up it up for the next 7 days, if you feel your on a roll and want to do more by all means.
8) Every few days or so log into Hootsuite to see if anyone is mentioning you - reply back, go to the Home feed and retweet relevant tweets/reply.

That's it.

P.S. You could take a couple hours and build like 5 of these. I think 5 is a good number to manage. Remember, you could always sell these twitter accounts at one point or the other. Also when you get a lot of targeted followers you can list it as a gig on fiverr to send out a tweet to them.

Good day!

Thanks for sharing buddy, its a great way to improve your follower count. but make sure you do have a low key doing this as twitter hates to see mass automation.

have changing frequency in following and do that with time gap. anyways thanks for sharing, enjoyed the tips.

    cheers

Thanks guys for your feedback. I forgot to mention one important thing. For those of you that are not comfortable with making a site for whatever reason, you can still profit of articles you write for your niche. Write or re-write a relevant article for your niche/Twitter account and submit it Bukisa. Then tweet the link to your account, you will get paid by them from adsense ads.

yup buddy try it out. also I want to clarify step 5, I forgot to add on: repeat. When you reach 2,000 followers twitter will limit you, but its a soft limit and will eventually lift so just a minor roadblock.

Twitter is a very good way to drive traffic. I use it for all my niches. I have read that Google will really factor Twitter into their algorithm (along with FB).

Are you behind a proxie when you have all these accounts though? Twitter could shut all your account done if they catch onto this.

I find that as long as you are not spamming then Twitter doesn't care how many accounts you have. Of course if you are following other users following, delay it in tweet attacks from 5-20 seconds and 60-90 minutes in between accounts. But ya the accounts your making with this method are not spam, they provide relevant content. Its not like im like "hey i just woke up" at 10 am and "caption crunch bitches" at 11am and "omg get a new ipad i got it form thiss site free bit.ly/283340" 12 am. lol you see what I mean.

Good to see that someone esle is on the same page as me. Well your one page ahead. I have never done good keyword search in all my time as IM and it has affected my sales.

However, thanks to some training I just finished that is about to change. I will be re-reading your guide again, just to make sure I am inspired, and of course, on the right track.

Hah.... thats exactly what i do, well pretty much, think targeted followers, give the benefits of great content that they will actually read. I made £80 in 2 months (yes, shoestring money...) from adsense with very minimal, less than 2000 followers, across a few accounts doing what you say. Just needs to be amplified while not being a spammer. Niche accounts that deliver value and not SELL, SELL, SELL.... But, proof enough that twitter can make money for the marketer who like JamesRiley will be creative about the process.

      Hi James,

It took a while before internet marketers could really take advantage of search engines.

The first couple of years it was pretty much trial and error.

Today people have pretty much figured out what works.

The same thing is going on right now with social media.

Internet marketers are experimenting to find out what works and what doesn't work.

Social media has a lot of promise, but very few people have been able to seriously cash in on it outside of 50 Cents of course.

    Thanks for the great tip!

I thought Im the one who's using this method.

I used also twitter to make money. What I did is to subrscribe to some rss.

Then syndicate to 3rd party to twitter application.

Feed automatically. And wait for the money to come in.

Some company's pay me doing this...

James how many people can you follow per day per account? Is 300 per day per account the limit?

If so lets say I choose the weight loss niche I can just start 5 different weight loss twitter accounts and follow 300 per day per account. Therefore in the weight loss niche im getting 1500 potential followers per day right?

Whats the odds of getting my accounts deleted doing this also? Looks great Thanks

You follow 300. then 3 days later, you go into the software and select "unfollow users followed at least [] days ago" and select 3.

300 way below the limit but this is what keeps you off twitters spamming radar.

  • Im doing something similar - my blog/website is the backbone of my online income, so i want to redirect people back there. Basically, this is my game plan:

    1. Find niche keywords
    2. Build blog around these keywords
    2. Add Aweber on landing page
    4. Add adsense
    5. Make social networking pages
    6. Feed blog to Twitter using Twitterfeed
    7. Feed Twitter to my other social networking pages using Ping FM
    8. This is the key part - i follow leaders in the industry of my niche on twitter. Once i get x amount (i like 100, depends on depth of the niche), i then....
    9. Post content to my blog

Step 8 is what i call piggy-backing on the success of others

Those steps will do for now, ill revisit this thread later when i want to improve my system

Are you saying that because it helps to not cut your message off? That may be a good thing, as they'll be forced to go to your profile to read the rest and be exposed to not only more of your tweets, which could be promotional, but to your bio link as well, which should lead to your adsense site.

Wow. Excuse me for being a little harsh, but no wonder most "internet marketers", even the so called "gurus", suck at social media. Don't get me wrong, I see 1 or 2 good pieces of advice in this thread, but a lot of it sucks, imho, and is the main reason so many internet marketers end up saying that Twitter sucks, when in reality Twitter can be a great resource if you use it properly.

The key word in social media is "social". This means actually engaging and interacting with your followers and the people that you follow.

I guarantee you that someone that you've interacted with and gotten to know, even on a limited 140 character basis, is far more likely to check out your blog or website to see what you're up to (and maybe even buy something from you) than some robot account that auto-followed you back during your "follow 300 a day and go back and un-follow the ones that didn't follow back a few days later" process.

Use social media networks like Twitter and Facebook to network with and attract people that will actually be interested in what you have to offer.

If you're impressed by numbers, then have at it. This is a great way to pump up your number of followers but it basically amounts to throwing a bunch of **** against the wall and hoping some of it sticks.

Newsflash: Hardly anyone pays attention to their main timeline on Twitter, so hardly anyone is going to notice what your posting unless you've given them a reason to pay attention to you. Most people, especially real people (as opposed to auto-spam accounts), are far too busy focusing on their Twitter lists and the back and forth @ replies and #hashtag discussions (which by the way, #hashtag discussions are where the real magic happens).

That's not to say that you shouldn't ever tweet promotional type stuff or even tweets with links to pages that sell people something, just keep a good ratio of your social type tweets to your promotional type tweets.

Spend some time observing people like Chris Brogan (@chrisbrogan), Scott Stratten (@unmarketing) and Mari Smith (@MariSmith). Notice that the vast majority of their tweets are "social" type tweets where they are engaging and interacting with other people. They give people a reason to visit their blogs/sites and then they make their money from there.

Hope my post helps at least one person!

You've brought up some good points here which many people seem to overlook, even though I think it'd be fairly obvious, especially to anyone who has been using Twitter for any length of time.

Forget about quantity and the number of followers you have, what's far more important is the quality of your followers. There's no use in getting 59,999 auto-bots following you in your Twitter account; while the numbers may be impressive, you won't get any response out of these automated "fake" accounts". Focus instead on getting real people that actually use their Twitter accounts the way they were intended to be used.

Also, I cannot stress enough that you have to engage your followers with social, interesting tweets that don't always have to be about the niche you're in. Mix it up and insert some general interest stories, humor, etc. I would keep the percentage of your promotional tweets at 20% or less, as you don't want to seem overly pushy or obnoxious.

You hit the nail on the head my friend. Real people like other real people, and they like reading blogs/sites that are written by real people, and perhaps most importantly... they like buying from real people.

It might help to think of Twitter as one giant discussion forum, much like Warrior Forum, with millions of discussions all going on at once. Market yourself on Twitter like you would on a discussion forum, taking part in various discussions and interacting and getting to know people. The people that you take the time to invest in interacting with and getting to know will be your biggest re-tweeters when it comes time for you to tweet about the latest blog post you just published.

Well, your following people highly related to your niche, so if they follow back then they are interested. My system involves interacting with the followers as well. It doesn't require much work, and it works.

The key with Twitter is not to be overly promotional with your tweets, and keep your promotional tweets to no more than 10-20% of your overall tweets. Are you doing this?

Also, with Twitter your priority would be to get your followers off there to your blog and/or squeeze page, where it'll be far easier to get their attention with longer messages and pictures/videos, and also collect their email addresses for further follow up.

    Good day!

Kudos to James for sharing his step-by-step plan. I think he and Jeffrey are both right; depends on what you're selling.
In my experience multiple accounts and automated stuff works well for cheap things. Expensive stuff, and business opportunities will only sell if you've built a relationship and positioned yourself as a leader.

I just want to warn that Hootsuite uses its own shortener service ow.ly which uses 302 redirect instead of 301 so doesn't pass any link juice! But you need it in many occasions.

Hey thanks for this great guide, very interesting. I've hit a couple of stumbling blocks:

1.) To get auto welcoming of new followers on SocialOomph I need to buy a membership? Any service that does this for free?

2.) Tweetattacks when launched asks me to enter my name/email for a license and when I hit submit says no Internet connection found.. Internet works fine and there is no firewall issue blocking the app from accessing the net, either.

      Thanks!

        1) You do not need a membership to use the auto welcome message and follow those who follow you feature. It is free.

        2) Download the new version of tweet attacks, they had to change it after the new twitter.

Thanks for sharing this. I would like also to share TWITTERADDER if you want multiple accounts in twitter. This automatically follow, unfollow, search and tweet.
