Hey guys i just had the idea to write a ten page report and sell it as an ebook but i have absolutely no idea how to do it. Could someone explain it to me. I have adobe on my computer that has a convert to pdf if that makes thing easy.

Not sure how Adobe works but I use Primo PDF.

With Primo, all you have to do is write your document the way you want and drag it to the Primo icon on the desktop and it makes a copy in a PDF and puts it on your desktop.

  Use Open Office to create your report. It's a free platform just like MS Word and Excel.
  
  Once you've created your report, you can then save it as a PDF document.

If you've got Windows, then you need a print driver that saves to a PDF file.

"Adobe" is a company, like "IBM". You don't have "Adobe" on your computer; you may have some of their hundreds of software titles, including Acrobat which should have installed something called "Distiller" that shows up as your list of printer devices.

Write your document in your word processor, like MS Word, save it, then when you go to print it, select the Acrobat Distiller as the printer.

If you have Open Office, I believe it has a built-in printer driver that lets you save as a PDF file as well.

If you've got a Mac, every Print dialog has a button in the lower-left corner that says, "PDF v". Just click it to save the output as a PDF file.

Just write your ebook in your word processor of choice. If it is the latest Microsoft Word or Open Office, you can simply save it as a pdf (choose save as and select pdf as the file type).

Otherwise, you can convert it to a pdf using adobe or you can download a free pdf converter such as cutepdf.

To convert, click print and select your pdf converter as the printer. It will convert the file into a pdf and give you an option of where to save the file.

  You can set it up as an autoresponder with an email that goes out when someone signs up.

If you use a mac and you write the report in "Pages" click file, then export, then select pdf and it's done. If you're on a pc there are plenty of free converters available (just google free pdf converter) and they'll be installed automatically as a printer that you will select from the drop down menu. Hope this helps and you kill it with your first project!

ok sweet figured out how to make pdf, now anyone got ideas on how to monetize it? Free methods would be a lot better thanks.

You mean monetize the PDF for free?

So what your saying is you would like to create an ebook, give it away, yet still make money from it?

There are several ways to do this. One of the easiest ways is to create a "how to" guide that utilizes a products that offer an affiliate program. Explain how to use the product to solve a problem and provide a link to the product that contains your affiliate info. Reader clicks link, buys product & you earn a commission.

You can use PDF Converter - Convert to PDF Online Free. It's easy to use. You just need to select a file & hit 'convert your file' button.

  I use Office Word 2007 and when i save my files there is a feature called "save in PDF or XPS".

  OpenOffice does a very respectable job of converting a document to PDF format, faithfully retaining the graphics and original formatting for the most part. While the newer versions of Microsoft Office may be more sophisticated and have more features, there's really no need for them if all you're wanting to do is convert a simple 10 page report to a PDF.

You can use MS Word 2007, OpenOffice, Adobe Photoshop for creating PDFs. MS Word has option of converting it into PDF directly without using any other software. Photoshop can be used for creating PDFs and even you can save text as picture so that chances copying the text will be minimized. Still people use OCR (optical character recognition) to get text from pictures.

If you use Microsoft office 2007 or 2010 then there have an option in the save as option called "save in PDF or XPS". It is very easy to use.

If you do not get the option in your office document then----

Download "SaveAsPDFandXPS" add-ons from Microsoft office add-ons support section.
