Losing Faith in Internet Marketing!!!

At the moment i am currently weighing up if i really should carry on trying to crack IM. I am quickly losing faith in the system after so many failed attempts and also not knowing why all these so called gurus keep sending me cr8p via email.

At what point do you say enough is enough?

Yesterday i received at least 6 offers to make me millions of $$$$$$$$$$ by doing exactly what they say, but what gives them the right to bombard me with cr8p????

Who are they??????

Can they seriously sit there and tell me that they have made millions by themself?????

Yes, the good old trick of showing the bank statements (which can't be fixed can they?? ) and the glowing testimonials that are always the same people for different products??? One made me laugh the other day when i was looking through the testimonials on his sales page and then later that same day was looking for some inspiration and came across a website that had a live chat on it and the very same person on the testimonial was the same image on the live chat. I knew then that this guy was a joke and quickly unsubscribed but not without telling him what a joke he was (bet he doesn't use that testimonial)

Sorry if i am ranting but when do you know that it's time to pack up????????????

    • Great what you stated, however if he doesn't like doing IM, we can't love it for him. Without the love of this industry, we would all be doomed to failure Will.

      On a good note, if he picks himself up, he could reach the top faster than anybody else here! He's just probably bored of the whole thing.

      As the saying goes, "If it's to be, it's up to me".

      Tip for you Martin: Stop relying on everybody and anybody to succeed! Rely on yourself and the sky is the limit!

  • At some point you realize, most people won't make money, most people can't make money--there's limited amount of traffic/limited amount of customers--and then it's best to just take whatever general skills you've gained from this and see where you can apply them. I know that I have three people from this site who are top sales people with a SEO company I work for, so I think that what you learn from marketing and hustling it out will help you switch to other good jobs, if you ever decide to give up.

    As soon as you convince yourself that it's not really possible, or that it's just not right for you.

    If there's something that would make you a happier person, go do it. What we think about the issue doesn't matter one tiny little bit. What matters is what you think about it, and what fits with your goals and life's dreams.

    We can't answer those questions for you.

    • Completely agree, Paul... You have to first believe it can be done, then start associating with others that are already successful online.

      I think many go for the quick buck initially then realize that to really make it happen, you have to have long-term strategy and build a tribe of followers.

      That's where I've found live IM events to be awesome. The networking and business building stuff that I've learned in person have been invaluable.

      I used to grill gurus about the internal structure of their businesses, employees, roles, project management, and a bunch of other stuff that's not too glamorous but critical to success and leverage.

      Never give up... just find a better strategy.

  • Yes i still love trying to make money and yes i feel i have a lot to offer.

    I am trying varous ways from affiliate marketing, web design etc...

    I think my main problem is that i'm signed up to too many people and sort of get side tracked with the amount of rubbish they send. One thing did make sense to me was why the hell would they be sending me something new every week if their first product does what they say????????

    I've got so many ideas on what would work but setting it out seems to be my issue as by the time i get round to doing it then the next big idea pops into my head so on most occassions i end up going round in circles.

      Really you have age on your side too, all of the old people are thinking, "Good grief" when they see you complaining about IM. Try not making money and being 50 and bald on the top of your head. That's when things look grim, lol.

    • That's all you need IMO. Channeling all the drive you have for the field into a niche (that utilizes your tool kit) should be your focus.

      Do I sound preachy? I shouldn't, I'm miserably failing at this IM thing myself. Much like you I have the tools and the drive but there are a LOT of missing pieces. What I know for certain is that there are no simple "one size fit all solutions". I read a thread the other day where a 14 year old kid had his first $200 day. Like he said, "if I can do it so can you."

      There are a lot of helpful and knowledgeable people on this forum and they'll make an IMer out of you yet!

    • I agree they send watered down over priced BS from Clickbank. I'd unsubscribe from everything that's distracting and giving you info overload.

      Then find out what's working, go and gate crash a party and take home a slice of the cake.
    • I was going to say the first thing you should do is unsubscribe from all those lists you mentioned. A couple years ago, when I still wasn't doing that great, I was subscribed to lists about SEO, PPC, PPV, CPA, and blogging. Needless to say, I would waste a lot of time week after week getting excited by something new one of them emailed me that sounded cool.... but never really putting in any work.

      You have to choose ONE guru/method that makes sense to you, and focus on that and put in a couple hours each day of solid work in that direction. It could take months... it could take years to start seeing real results... it did for me. I actually completely gave up a few times but I would come crawling back after a few months because the idea of making money from my computer got me so excited.

      If you can design, that is one big advantage you have. I do all my own design work as well ( I can't do anything fancy), and I can think of an idea or landing page and make it myself and be testing it within hours whereas most people need a few days to get their stuff back from their designer.

      Focus on your strengths... don't try to learn a bunch of new, unrelated things until you're making money from your strengths.
    • Hi there, I have to say reading this kinda puts a smile in my face. I remember how I was 5 years ago feeling exactly the same thing and just like you, I have so many ideas that I find it really hard to focus and ends up jumping from one idea to the next and going round in circles.

      Thing is, no IM guru out there can help you there. You have to really step aside from all this, set your priorities, understand yourself, know what you want and regroup your thoughts.

      Right now, I'm doing pretty well. I have quit my 9 to 5 job and doing IM full-time. Though I'm not making a 5 figure income yet like some IMers claimed to be making. It pays the bills, put food on the table for me and my family and give me more time freedom.

      How I finally manage to get here? I kick my ugly habit of subscribing to anyone who claim to be a guru, write down my goals and stick to the plan. It takes work though...and none of those earn in 24 hours BS. In fact it took me nearly a year just to earn my first $1. But things that are hard at first, with practice and diligence will get easy eventually. You just have to persevere and not give up. You will get there.

    • This is the main problem all new internet marketers face. There is so much information out there and so many supposed gurus telling you what to do that it gets very confusing, i think the term all the sales letters use is "INFORMATION OVERLOAD" and its exactly why these guys send you out new products every week, be it theres or someone elses.

      They know your hungary to succeed and have you exactly where they want you.

      There are some simple steps to learn:

      1. pick an area of interest for yourself such as "gardening" then break that area down into a smaller niche area say "how to grow rhubarb"

      Get on googles keyword tool and do exact phrase matches for these keyword searches, if there is enough interest in that area with little or even better no competition, then find a product to promote to that group of people.

      If your gonna enter big niches such as the latest seo software from clickbank or the latest way to make a million in 24 hours "rubbish" then in areas as big as this and with huge competition you have no chance!

      Its better to seek out smaller areas and deliver something of quality to that niche, then you will see sales and go from there.

      There are loads of experienced guys and girls on here that will keep you right and when you do get going you will quickly begin to enjoy Internet Marketing!

      It really is a shame when people are this frustrated and if you keep listening to the ****e from 6 or 7 different email lists your gonna keep going round in circles, pick one area, one product and stay focused!

    Unsubscribe from every list that doesn't help you move toward your goals. Speaking as a publisher myself, I don't want to waste someone's time if they're not getting anything from what I write. That does no-one any good.

    Dump what's not helping you and focus on what does.

    Actually yes, many of them can tell you they have made millions by themselves. There will always be some who inflate incomes, but there are many others who do make huge incomes online.

    When should you pack up and quit? At what time of a close game do you want your favorite team to pack up and quit? At what time do you want your spouse to pack up and quit? At what time do you want your children who are striving to achieve to pack up and quit? Choose that same moment for yourself.

    Now a really STRONG piece of advice. Subscribe to one more list, you can unsubscribe after you check out what he tells you during the next two weeks if you want. (You won't.)       I have been in the IM game for one and half years now and have only just found "my way" of doing things, my income is not massive, but ok for my needs. Also I have only just worked out a niche for myself (not started yet).

      You need to develop tunnel vision, try picking one "sought after" product (not clickbank), try the UK affiliate site "paidonresults" for ideas, and set a target of 150 seo friendly, keyword savy articles in a month, and publish them between the top 3-4 directories.

      Hammer one single product or site (gardening seasons coming up ), and then move on to the next. Rinse and repeat.

      This is what all of these so called guru's should be telling you. It is simple and effective.

  • Unsubscribe from these "gurus" for now. Then you need to change your thinking. You understand don't you that every time you fail you are learning something? The only time you don't learn when you fail is if you try the exact same thing again...that's insanity.

    So fail forward and keep at it! We all feel like quitting sometimes. I don't blame you although what do you have to lose by continuing to learn and try? You have everything to gain!
  • Hey man, whatever you do, do NOT give up on IM man. I had to leave IM because of a lack of cash, but I still have faith that it will work for me once I do get some more money. I always advise people to start with Amazon and/or Adsense micro niche sites. Truly the easiest ways to make money. Oh, and don't believe what they tell you - Google still indexes and ranks micro niche sites.

    Oh yeah, I had to unsubscribe from a whole bunch of newsletters. You see, from what I know about internet marketing, about 98% of people DO NOT truly and genuinely want to help you. They have a symptom of JAMS - or Just Another Marketer Syndrome. It will be hard to find that 2% who really want to help you.

    I've been online for 5 years and I average about one IM product per year. And I've built a business with 7 figures revenue.

    The lie that gurus try to sell you is that you need to "stay up on the latest information" or that you need to "invest". It's a load of garbage. They want to sell you the latest tactics.

    If you haven't made money online, you need fundamentals....not tactics. It starts with providing value...most people don't even get past that.

    - WOW I can make millions online
    - Buy all those flashy products
    - Scratch your head at all the technical jargon
    - Learn the technical jargon
    - Apply it
    - Fail
    - Want to quit...
    - Try and again...
    - Fail...

    And eventually you just find something that works for YOU, leverage it and turn it into a substantial income.

  • It's called growing pains. We have all been at that
    point when we want to try everything and nothing
    seems to work until we find the one thing that does
    if we stick around long enough.

    It is a frustrating stage, like it is for my 10 month
    old daughter trying to walk right now. There are
    no magic pills and easy way out but to keep trying
    until you find 'your' gold.

    every successful internet marketers had been on this situations like this.

    They passed the test, and finally cracked it, and now, they're enjoying their results.

    I often thinks we may see their successful massive results as the "fruits", although we all know to get a juicy sweet fruits, we should plant a seed, and take care of it, until it grow ad grow as a tree and finally give us those "fruits"..

    Well, we, no matter who we are, as long as we're on the right way providing valuable informations to help others, and have a good moral foundation, as long as we keep going, i believe we'll find a way (our own unique way), to gain our own success story.

    Stop Attempting to Make Money and Start A Business.

    What's your strongest skillset and can you see yourself being happy doing that for the next 2 to 5 years?

    Then concentrate on that for the long haul.

    Paul M. gives great advice when he says to unsubscribe from the pitches. Understand that those aren't newsletters, they're designed to grab you by the eyeballs, distract you from whatever it is you're doing and suck cash out of you. There are precious few real newsletters anymore (Paul M. is one of those few. subscribe.)

    If you're a web designer, then set up a web design business. If you're good at affiliate marketing, do that.

    Don't just attempt... DO. And stick to it, whatever it is you choose.

    • Here is almost a fail proof way to begin making money online.

      [+] Create an extremely valuable product that is equivalent to a $47-$97 course.
      [+] Create or outsource some amazing graphics and make it look great.
      [+] Give it away for free (for the opt-in).

      The KEY is to create a product that people want...and are willing to pay for.

      You give that away for free.

      So if you have 4-5 products you know you can create, the first one gets sacrificed to build your list. Then you use the countless ways discussed in this forum to drive traffic to that opt-in.

      You followup with those customers and you give away more value for free. Stuff they really want to know. After gaining their trust you introduce another piece to the puzzle...your first paid product. Charge $17-$27 for this.

      Over the course of 6 months, continue to offer great value and drip past 3 more of your own offers. Mix in some affiliate stuff as well.

      My advice? Find out something you know that others would love to learn and begin creating that first product.

      Works like a charm every time if done properly.

  • Never give up. Just stick at it. Even if you have a normal day job, just keep working on your internet marketing business in the evenings for a few hours. If you stick at it, you will eventually see results. Trust me.
  • Here are my suggestions for anyone who has reached the point of frustation

    Press the big reset button and unsubscribe from every single list that you are on

    Subscribe very selectivily to no more than 5-10 people who send out quality material to their subscribers with the occasional offer

    Focus on one project only and follow it through to completion

    Ignore all the make money fast clickbank systems, they don't work, the vendors don't tell you the truth

  • Have you tried leaning more toward affiliate marketing? I've found that it is a pretty steady income.
  • It happens most of the time.. I have done many surveys and got nothing. The best is adsense and affiliate programs with different websites like amazon and ebay
  • I'm sorta in the same boat as you are, in that I've been hacking away, reading everything that I can about every market and option to making money online. I too have signed up for quite a few mailing lists, where I get a ton of email each day about the latest product that will make me millions online!

    A few days ago I decided that I don't need to see these emails anymore and have started removing myself off those mailing lists. There are a few lists that I feel are worth staying on but for the most part I've removed most of them already.

    A few weeks back I realized that I was trying to do too much in too many directions. Over and over I read from these forums, decide on one area and focus on that until you make it succeed. Not until I give up.

    I've done just that. I've decided to focus on Amazon marketing with niche sites. Once I get that figured out, and start making money with it, then I'll look into the next direction that I might want to investigate and focus on. But not until I succeed at the first.

    But one suggestion that I didn't see so far from the responses, is one that I've done for myself. Check the local groups in your area here on the forum and see if there is one meeting together. If there isn't or as was in my case, there wasn't a consistent group, make one. I have been scheduling local meetings for people in my area. My second meeting is coming up next Monday. We had 3 show up at the first one, and indications are that we're going to double that this time around.

    Now the reason I am organizing the meeting is to give myself the opportunity to meet with people both in the same place I am and more importantly meet with people who are succeeding. I don't want their 'secret' sauce or anything like that. What I want out of it is the encouragement that it can be done and that here are several people that are doing it. I want to have an opportunity to talk with them and learn what I can. After meeting with peers who are excited and driven to succeed in IM, I come out energized and on fire to make it happen.

    Just my suggestion to spark the fire in IM.
  • With internet marketing you have to be really focus. You should not sign up for too many newsletters or free stuff that require your email. If you really want the product, do so but you will have an option to unsubscribe later if you do not like their emails. This is the main cause of information overload. Stick to one thing and wait for it to show results before you give up. Those people that show you bank statements do not tell you how long it took them to start making money so be patient, it will not happen as fast as they claim.
  • It cracks me up how much of Internet Marketing is actually marketing Internet Marketing programs.

    Can you think of an industry where so much of the focus is feeding on itself (politicians excluded)?

    Eventually, IM will mature and we won't see as much of the "get rich quick" schemes. When gold was discovered in California, many claimed they got rich quick and could help you do the same. Truth is, not many got rich from gold, but Wells Fargo and Levi jeans were the real beneficiaries.

    So I echo much of what others have said. Stick to the basics. Develop properties that last. Would you rather have a nugget of gold for immediate value, or have settled some of the California coast line?

    I started about 5 yrs ago, made very little money those first 4, like less than 1000 for the whole year.... I got frustrated trying to work on dial up and gave up for 9 months. I kept telling myself at least I have taught myself some skills and if I ever need to get a job, I will have those. Finally one day, I told myself, ok, one more try....and boy am I ever glad I did. It was like I could think clearer and everything just started to fall into place.

    Change your schedule, stop reading those emails, shake things up a bit. Set goals for a year or two away instead of wanting it all right now. If you love this, be patient and it will happen.

    It would probably help a great deal if you weren't receiving those offers in your mailbox. I don't receive them. I don't buy products that make fake claims like that or products with obviously fake testimonials. I buy products from people on the forum that I trust through their participation and communication on the forum. I don't just "shop" for products.

    Sounds like you've just tried out a bunch of "shiny object" offers and haven't really latched onto or created yourself ... a blueprint to building a real business online. Not a flash in the pan get rich quick scheme ... but an online business.

      My heart just broke when I read your post.
      I've watched my daughter, Tiffany Dow, build her business -- not only on a shoestring, but knowing nothing about Internet Marketing. AND, she did it -- and still does it -- with her ethics intact.
      Now, she's trying to teach me -- a Baby Boomer -- how to supplement my pathetic income, and putting together a report on our process to share it with others.
      My point is that there are ethical and honest IMers out there.
      Don't give up, Martin -- you've put too much time and effort in it for that.
      But, if something isn't working for you, try another way.
      One thing Tiffany has taught me is that it doesn't cost much to systematically build an online business.
      I also looked over "Aldovolcano's" post from today -- I highly suggest you read it. It's about how to become task oriented to build your IM sites.

You can then find out about Michael Dunlop and follow him. He doesn't say crap and I am a witness! I hope this helped.

    • If what you're giving up on is the dream of making boat loads of money without doing much work or without producing any value, then perhaps it is time. Sure, some people succeed at that. But then, some people win the lottery too. Just not many.

      If you're maxed out on your credit cards and behind on your mortgage, then it's probably time to get a job and get back on track. You can keep going with IM in your spare time if you want. But if you're hoping some guru will teach you how to turn things around next week, I'd recommend trying something with better odds.

      There's certainly money to be made online. But it takes work, and you've got to create real, solid value. Otherwise, you're at risk of losing your "business" then next time Google tweaks their algorithm, the FTC changes their rules, or a butterfly flaps its wings in Beijing.

      I've decided I'm not buying any more programs, at least till I start making some real money.

      I delete the promotions, and have unsubscribed from everyone but my favorites, and those that provide useful information.
    • Instead of quitting just because of some desperate fakes, you will be doing yourself a great service by trying to get a mentor who is not only making the real bucks online but will be willing to show you how he does it.

    • Well, as far as I'm concerned, loving IM and making money from it are very closely related. It's hard to love IM if you're not making money, as well as it's hard to make money if you don't love IM!

      When you're a beginner you always love IM because of all the hype selling you dreams. But if you can't cut through the crap quickly enough and start making some kind of money within a few months, then I can totally understand that the love for IM fades away...

    • Like I said to Martin, not everyone 'can' make money. There's only a certain amount of people looking for a certain search term or for a certain type of product and hundreds of internet marketers are going after them. This is true of every niche bro.

      But Martin is lucky because he has another skill to fall back on that's valuable-- web design, and on top of that, being able to manage outsourcers. So with you, what if this doesn't work out? Do you have something you can still offer to the market place?

  • I hope you are reading all the good advice from so many concern warriors. What I would recommend is almost the same thing as many but with my twist.
    1. Unsubscribe from almost All of the gurus but one who is going to become your mentor. Person doesn't have to be guru to be your mentor but somebody that knows the industry
    2. Find a mentor it is much easier to succeed because you have to be accountable for your work.
    3. Go back to basics. There is so much free info look around.
    4. Chose a topic you will specialize in, don't do everything because you end up doing nothing.
    5.How many articles have you actually written? This is basics for getting targeted visitors to your site. Master this technique and move on to the next.
    6.Ask any successful IM person How many times have they failed before striking a gold? Persistence persistence and again the same.
    One more thing: Write your goals long tern and short term. Be specific.

    • The only email from any marketer that I read are those from Paul Myers. To be honest, I only read about half of his newsletters, if that. I rarely buy any product from anyone. If I do buy a product I do research and make sure that the product is actually going to do what the seller says it will, before I buy.

      I have said this several times on this forum. I only made a couple of dollars my first 6 months. It wasn't until I found something that I liked doing, and that actually made me money before I started putting some serious time into it. Like many others on this forum the work is now paying off. I am making more than I have ever made before, and it is pretty much all on autopilot.

  • OK not sure if this will help you. I had a big problem getting my first job when I was young. Asked over 100 people and was ready to give up. Then I said, let me try one more. Got the job, finally it was so super.

    Thing is you are your own company. Like you cannot go home and forget about it, so you bring it home with you. This is a heavy burden for all of us. There is no formula that is magic. Hard work plus luck equals success.
  • I know - it's awful, isn't it. I've heard a lot of the successful guys recommending "going cold turkey" - unsubscribe from ALL those mailing lists. Yes, I felt like I might be missing out on the next great thing, the missing piece of the jigsaw, etc etc. It's painful. What it does, however, is many-fold. It stops you from getting disturbed all the time by "incoming special offers" that serve only to divert us and empty our wallets. At the end of the day, only traffic to a good converting offer will bring in money.

    I've learned this too - there are a number of ways to make money in IM! What does NOT work, however, is starting again on the next new thing every time a new thing comes in. You are doing the first mile of every race without finishing any race that way. You gotta focus, and push traffic to a good converting offer.
  • Hey I know how you feel. some time back I felt the same way, I use could figure out what I was doing wrong. so I just took a step back for a while and went fishing, seriously I felt like I was going to go crazy trying to figure this thing call IM out. Then a strange thing happened during my several months long fishing break. I got a few sales nothing major but I got a few sales. I didn't jump back into the game right away because mentally I wasn't there. Now I'm slowly getting back into the flow.

    My point is this don't let your frustration keep you down too long, step away for a little bit and give your mind a break. You'll be surprised at what you'll see once you return to the computer that was always there but because of info over load you could not see or understand before. It has helped me and I hope a little break from IM for a short period helps you as well.

    I love the web and all the opportunities it presents so even though I may need a break from time to time. I'm drawn back light a bee to honey every time.

  • I think you're suffering from information overload, and being on too many email lists can be problematic.

    My first suggestion is to unsubscribe from all of them, especially the ones that keep sending you all that "get rich quick" crap, and then knuckle down and focus on just one method. Get those pipe dreams about overnight riches out of your head, and focus on only one method until you start seeing some results. Cut out all the distractions and quit looking at the latest new system, you're much better off just focusing on something until you make some headway.

Of course, that is not going to happen. I would recommend you start a Wordpress Blog on something you have knowledge about. Set up your blog and put some quality original content on it. Then you can monetize it with google adsense and affiliate products. Blog for Internet Cash is absolutely a way to make money. Take Action and you will succeed.   • I do wonder why these people who made $x,xxx in 90 days via FB or earn over $100,000 a year using some SEO technique would need to sell an IM product to us for $7, $27, $47 etc etc. They would have to sell 2,000 copies for $47 to get near the $100,000 that they claimed to earn per year (unlikely).

    Are they just milking a dying technique by selling a guide to something that used to work for them? Or, are they attempting to achieve guru status and build a list so they can "go to the atm"? What is their true motivation?

    • Don't forget the majority of "guru's" who send you information on more ways to make money online, make their money online doing just that.

      If you read carefully through these very forums, there are many "gold nuggets" so-to-speak, showing you many different internet business models, as well as step by step instructions for doing so. They key is to TAKE ACTION!

      Stop reading emails, stop trying to jump on the next big thing, and take a moment to focus on just one of the many ways to create an income with internet marketing.

      One of the keys to my success is, and I have heard others mention the same thing, once I had a plan of attack, I stayed away from my email, kept off any forums (unless it was related to my plan of attack, and answering any questions I had therein) and before I knew it, I had a tidy income established.

      (If it helps, 2010 was my first full year in IM, and I more then quadrupled any income I have made in years past as a business professional, using methods mentioned here by people like Kenster and others.)

      Hope this helps to encourage you in your journey.

    Don't give up. There is money to be made in IM.

    It took me 2 years to start making money. Would you like to guess why?

    Because I kept studying, I kept reading, I kept looking for the next system, for the perfect system.

    Do you know that one month after I started taking DAILY action, I started making $1200 from clickbank affiliate marketing?

    I think before you decide to quit, you should look at yourself, and honestly ask yourself how much work did you actually do?

    Reading doesn't make you money, making websites, writing articles, and building backlinks makes you money.

    A great tip I just remembered is to focus on setting goals on actionable items instead of results.

    So, instead of setting a goal to make $2000 per month, set the goal to write 10 articles per day. It's much more productive focusing on ACTIONS!

    Don't quit, just regroup, get determined, and get to work. It's WORTH IT!

  • I don't equate all these negative experiences you've had with IMers and IM products with you packing it in and quitting.

    You should just unsubscribe from all those marketers who annoy you, put your nose to the grindstone and get it done, yourself. There are people you can trust, and many right here on Warrior Forum.

    But you are not going to get things done just trying to find a golden ticket or even a model to follow that's sure to lead you to success.

    I think the best teacher is experience, so go and test, test and test some more and find success through hard work and determination.

    That's how I look at it, anyway.

    I started in Network Marketing back in 1999. I had what I considered success (my best month was $12,000) with the first company I started with...until they made some major changes and went out of business.

    The next company I started with was a brand new company that I was asked to assist in building. There were 12 of us when we started. I saw great success with that one (my best month was $50,000). I loved what I was doing and started playing around the IM world simply to generate leads.

    I bought a lot of ebooks and information from "Gurus" telling me how you can build lists, generate leads (by way of getting traffic to your site), blah, blah, blah. Hundreds of dollars and hours later, I was still generating leads the old-fashioned way because I couldn't figure out how to get their traffic-generating "systems" to work for me.

    They talked about various pieces of the puzzle to use, but then didn't explain several of the pieces so I'd have to hunt down another "guru" to learn about each piece. I was so confused and frustrated I stopped doing IM altogether.

    Then in 2005, I decided to leave the company I was with. It had become more about the money than the people being successful and I just don't operate that way.

    I set out once again to learn about internet marketing. I knew there was a way to generate the same type of income online as what I'd been generating off line. I just had to find the "right" people....ones like me who had integrity, were willing to share ALL of the pieces of the puzzle, and who cared about whether people succeeded, regardless of whether success to them meant earning $300 a month or $3 million.

    After 6 years, I believe I've found a few. My son and I are now in the process of building our income...by building a business from the ground up....one that's sustainable for the long haul, not just "make a few grand today and move on to the next thing" kind of money that shows up in those emails you're talking about.

    You have to know it's possible. You see in the news where TEENS are making millions online. They started from a basic idea or passion they had, and it snowballed from there.

    My point is...NEVER quit. Keep searching for the "right" people to follow. Take baby steps if you must. Start from one idea and keep adding to it every day. You WILL build a business that you can support your family on and have time to do the things you wanna do in your life.

    If you quit and never look back, you can look around you and know without a doubt...THIS is your life...right where you are (as long as your job doesn't go away).

    But if you DON'T quit...and you spend even 1 hour a day doing SOMETHING towards building an online empire (one article, one page, setting up one website), you KNOW that life can be different....whether tomorrow, next month, next year, or FIVE years down the road....it can change for the better.

    Don't give up...life's to short to just settle!!

    • I would not say to unsubscribe because staying on the lists allows you to see WHAT they are doing...and the stuff they do works. It's worth being on the lists for that..but most of the things they are selling are not worth buying, thats for sure.

    I'm relatively new to IM as well and have yet to find a "my" method and make it stick. It's just inspirational to know that, know matter how much these "guru's" deflate your enthusiasm or make you feel like it's all a sham, a place The Warrior Forum re-instils the belief and confidence that it can work.

    One more thing, and it's seems like a recurring theme in this thread and most definitely helped me focus on the REAL task in hand, is that you MUST unsubscribe from all of those dud mailing lists, PRONTO!!! Find yourself a few really valuable ones that will give you good content, with no side order BS!!! I personally recommend Lee McIntyre's mailing list and his blog, tremendous stuff to be found there. He shows you how to build a business and not just a monthly income.

    P.S. Focus on genuinely helping others and not just "making money"

  • I was in the exact same situation and despair not a long time ago. I almost quit several times, but something always kept me going...
    You will fail only if you give up!

    Take a break, go somewhere, spend time with your friends and family away from the computer for a few days or weeks, then come back refreshed and start all over.
    Nobody has made it over night, and it's a long exhausting process with a steep learning curve.
    Go back to school, learn the basics, and then choose ONLY ONE method, and stick to it. Just do this one thing you choose for a few MONTHS. Nothing else.
    You can't really fail if you keep going. Don't quit!

  • The majority of them don't the bank accounts, not saying they are totally honest, but it's pretty rare among the big guys to have an outright photoshop job. Now - lots of times they show the vendor statements and not affiliate statements, and the huge traffic surges you see on a site also happen to line up with a launch and probably not the push button stuff they are selling.

    Here's my suggestion to you, it worked for me anyway. When I was paying attention to what they guru's SAID I had a wife who thought I was wasting time I could have been spending with her or the kids, money I could have spent on "other things" and life was generally very frustrating.

    However, I got lucky to buy a few good courses (Clayton Makepeace's Desktop Copy Coach, Makepeace Online Profit Multiplier, Walkers PLF) and go to a few live events to meet people who are doing very well. I then stopped doing what they said, and started to do what they do instead.

    I'm not involved in MMO - which I think is a very hard niche to crack, but I'm in the stock market, weight loss, and pick up and the wife now thinks I'm a brilliant, the kids are spoiled brats who get to spend a lot of time with me and life is overall much better.

    I hope you find your path to success. It's very easy to get frustrated when your on the hampter wheel. Just pick something (something that is valid) and go with it. You'll see results if you just do that.

Don't allow yourself to get sidetracked by the latest "Google Nuclear Domination 2.0" or whatever they are calling the latest spam blasting software they're trying to sell for $149. Find a technique that works, and stick with it...and scale it up.

      Taking one giant "Leap Of Faith" I chucked in my Full time job, and went part time, last May and decided I was going to CRACK this IM Thing...

      I was able to work in my job part time at weekends , this just about paid my mortgage, I did have some savings and probably could have lasted about 6 months on this. I figured, "If i'm still here by Christmas and hadn't returned back to full time working, then I probably could make it in IM.

      I spent the first few weeks like a headless chicken. I ran around and made ALL the classic mistakes newbies make.

      1) Nibbling at everything, but implementing nothing

      2) Thinking that getting loads of people to follow you on Twitter & Facebook was the same as "building a list"...BOY, was this a BIG mistake..

      3) Becoming a Webinar "Junkie", overloading the brain cells with TOO much information and in the end, becoming MASTER of nothing...

      I had a CLASSIC case of Internet Marketers DISEASE...

      "Too Much Movement, but little or NO Traction"...

      In other words, a case of "SPINNING WHEELS....

      So what did I do and how, after 5 months of MISERY, did I get my FIRST Cheque?

      1) I figured it out.... This is NOT ABOUT ME, it's about giving VALUE to other people.

      2) Give people GREAT VALUE, and the money will surely follow..

      3) Focus on ONE thing at a time, follow it through - learn it, implement it and then and ONLY then, move on to learn another SKILL... yes, IM is a SKILL

      I totally focussed on ONE thing and one thing only..

      I learnt to build a Wordpress.org Blog and on this Blog, I did a daily series of money making tips... I wrote them in my OWN style, I added humour..

      I just kept at it DAY after DAY, after DAY..

      I then learned how to MONETIZE the Blog, I then learnt how to drive TRAFFIC to the Blog..

      So, this was the equation:

      Blog + Great Daily Content + Monetization + Traffic = My first Clickbank cheque, 5 Months after going FULL TIME...

      I now get a payment from Clickbank every 2 weeks, I also use other affiliate networks and I will soon be making my own products...

      I have made more than 50 videos, I have 2 blogs, 14 Squidoo lenses and a whole heap of Articles... I say this not to boast, just to let you know, you have to be PRO-ACTIVE...

      "Build a LIST... offer a free report and give your subscribers great value.

      "Success isn't going to come to YOU, you have to GO to it"!

      Don't give up or give in, YOUR success is probably just around the corner but it requires WORK... lots of it..

  • At the beginning there was only one email. Than two than 10 and now they grew to about 400 per day. Junk! All promising I can make a million by the end of the week or a day.
    It is very discouraging especially because I have no money to invest in a good honest to god guide. Buying one than two and more and neither of them are good enough for me.

    On top of all that I am all by myself trying to learn all this stuff. No one I can discuss my ideas with or just talk about or ask how to do stuff and get motivation from someone that is interested in the same as I am.

    I think most people gives up because they are by themselves trying to figure it all out.

    Perhaps a good support group would be helpful. Or a site such as this, where people are members for one thing only and that is to make money.

    All those junk mails have a purpose in my mailbox. To give me motivation and motivate me to learn. Why don't I send all those junk mails? Can I send one too? Sure I can, but I need to stay focused, be motivated and excited to reach my goal.

    Erase the emails and unsubscribe, than start again when you are ready. You've got the bug.

  • Martin, you've already admitted what your problem is - that you're "trying" various ways from affiliate marketing to web design, etc.

    You have to quit doing this - just focus on one established method/system until you see results. Don't be deceived by the typical sales copy (targeted at newbies) into thinking that you'll get instant results, because that rarely ever happens. Keep focusing on one thing until you start to see results happen. What you're doing now is committing the classic newbie mistake of jumping from one method to another without fully implementing anything.

  • Hi Martin, yes I know how you feel. I was in the same situation about a year ago. Then my mentor said something that started a change in my attitude. He said that I need to unsubscribe from most of the mailing lists of those gurus that just want to sell things and only keep those that have built up a relationship with me. this l did. Also l had to change my thinking regarding IM marketing. Yes I need to make money, but first need to learn all about this business. In other words, see it as a hobby and keep a look out for an opportunity for a niche to open. This I did. I just kept on learning and learning. Eventually I could create my own squeeze pages, sales pages and websites. Then I investigated WordPress and observed what people around me were speaking about. For example my youngest daughter is a beauty therapist and she was saying that she deals with so many woman that need proper beauty advice. So what i did was create a WP blog on beauty and skincare, Research articles on this topic, rewrote and posted on a daily bases. I monetised the blog with adsence and other adverts as well. I was now producing a free valuable service. This particular blog was started about a month ago and at the time of writing this reply, I have had over 300 comments and have earned money from the adsence. Not that much but its a start.

    However, you gotta understand, running your own business and
    making money on the Internet is no different than if you were
    running your own business off the Internet. (Principle-wise)

    I have seen way too many newbies heard of the opportunity of
    making money online, thinking it's easy, jump on the bandwagon,
    then give up after a while because it turned out it's not as easy as
    they have originally thought!

    Making money is never easy!

    This is a business, you need to learn something that tells you
    how to do marketing properly. Then you need to learn all the
    basics for setting up your own website.

    Treat it like a business, then it will pay you like a business;
    treat it like a hobby, and it will cost you like a hobby.

    For the newbies who have never had any prior business trainings,
    do NOT expect to just jump on the Internet, read a course or 2
    that you bought online and expect that you possess all the knowledge
    you need to be successful online.

    Sure, there's exception, there's a tiny amount of courses out
    there cover almost all aspects of Internet Marketing. But most
    do not.

    Plus, even for those that do, they still omit some fundamentals
    of management and marketing.

    You WILL NEED to learn those solid business skills from other
    sources, such as some best-selling books from the traditional
    print books like: E-Myth, Good to Great, Seth Godin's books,
    Scientific Advertising, etc... (And of course, your own
    experiences and creativities.)

    Lastly, there is actually a time when you do say "It's time to
    pack up." That is when you want to move up to something
    much bigger and are bored of the income range between
    100s of 1000s to 10s of millions in yearly income selling
    your own info products online, and want to do something
    much bigger such as building your own multi-billion dollar
    website like Google, Facebook and Amazon etc...

    Or simply want to move to other multi-billion dollar industry
    such as banks, oil and other insanely huge markets.

    Otherwise, I don't any reason why one should pack up and
    leave this low cost, high profit business.

    The capital to start and make money is almost 0, the risk
    is also close to 0.

    There's not another industry in the world offers such
    a great opportunity as this one as far as I know.

    This business is almost like playing video games with
    cheat codes.

    It's really got nothing to do with whether or not you're going to make even $5 in IM.

    You're already at the best Internet Marketing Forum online, so why not take advantage of the great free education you can get right here?

    Of course, you can still choose to just give up. I only started making money when I stopped listening to gurus, and started getting my hands into doing stuff online.

    • Here's some help for you. I learned this from my mentors and it's been crucial to me.

      Before you get started (or if you have to start over again), carefully consider/choose your business model.

      IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

      1. Products
      2. Services

      That's it!

      And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

      Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

      That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

      But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

      A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

      1. Membership-based model

      A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

      There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

      2. Product-based model

      Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

      3. Service-based model

      Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

      However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

      What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

      The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

      Pick just ONE!

      1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

      2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

      3. Pick ONE business model.

      Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS!

      F -- Follow
      O -- One
      C -- Course
      U -- Until
      S -- Successful

      In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you're REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

      Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

  • This is a very good point yet there are many Im'ers who are not scams. They will actually help you in your ventures to make more money online. I hope you can see through the scams and actually keep working on IM because it is well worth it!
  • I tell my self that the moment that I stop believing that I can do it is the moment that I fail.
    Either choose to keep at it, or fail at IM marketing.
  • I can say that I was in the same place you were after only 3-4 months of subscribing to my first IM list, then it snowballed and i got on so many lists it was ridiculous. The free offers were OK to start with, but then i realised i know half the stuff they were saying anyway, but i just hadn't done anything with it.

    So, i canned every list and said 'I'm going to now put it to work'.

    (side note: i have a bricks and mortar business)

    My Results?

    This year in late January I launched 4 new web sites (3 of which were niches of my normal business) and included analytics in all which i think is critical for your success. Here's my results of all 4 of them:

    1. With one in particular managed to get 1st rank in google for 3 different keyword phrases within 4 weeks. BOOYAH! My leads have increased and I already have 2 sales from it.

    2. I've just re-written site 2 today after seeing little to no traffic or results, so i redid keyword research and realised I got it wrong... dammit! Rewrite should help - also considered buying a better domain name but will suck it and see for now.

    3. My very small niche site number 3 that pays a lot of $$$ if i make sales, is doing as expected in terms of numbers, yet to make a sale. However, 1 sale in this niche will pay me approximately $35,000. (I'm in a bricks and mortar business)

    4. My number 4 site is taking a massive amount of time article writing, but this web site forms part of my evil plan to conquer the world MUAHAHA. It's got multiple ways of revenue including some really cool ways of delivering $$$ to my primary business through advertising. I launched this at the end of January (31st to be exact) and have had 105 visitors to the site so far (keyword searches) and made $6.46 after turning on Adsense 4 days ago. BTW: my Analytics dashboard for this site has my % Change to Visits as UP 27,500% MUAHAHAHA!

    Site Number 5 - Last Friday I launched another web site using WPRobot which automates everything for a particular niche and will suck it and see.

    Site Number 6 - Coming soon, i just found another niche and registered a domain name for it and will be similar to number 5 - really an adwords and WP Robot site. Looks cool though.

    I need to create 2 more web sites ASAP for my bricks and mortar business then i'm launching a new company for my IM stuff - so excited.

    So my advice to you dude? Stop reading, start creating. Put it out there and see what works. Your lessons will be far more valuable than listening to advice from others - especially when you're getting advice from people who have an interest in profiting from you in some way. Keep checking this forum as there are real nuggets here and lots of legit people. Join the WAR ROOM.

    I probably spend about 6 hours per week on this site and it's valuable stuff. 1 snippet of advice from a warrior changed the whole way i write my web sites with immediate results.

    All I can say is, don't walk away, don't give up - have a crack and back yourself, you'll be amazed.
  • I will say it's a natural process which every marketer will go through until you have that breakthrough.

    IM has a steep learning curve (like it or not but that's the truth) and unfortunately you are right, there's a lot of crap out there that raises the hopes of people so high that they fall real hard when they fail to make a single cent.

    Now, if you are not making a single cent, figure out how to make your first dollar online. Once you have succeeded, move on to make ten dollars and so on and so forth. It's a gradual process which takes a lot of trial and error.

    Of course one way to short cut your learning, is to find the right people to follow and learn from and Warrior Forum is the best place to do that. Look for Warriors who are validated by other Warriors to know who's worth following
  • I'm a noob but I will offer what advice I can. I made one site and did everything the white hat way - articles etc and I'm on page one google for a low competition keyword. I specifically chose something with low competition so that it would help build my confidence as I learned how to do this thing. I haven't made any money yet with my ads because my traffic is still pretty low but I'm seeing what works and what doesn't. It is fun for me now as a hobby but would love to turn it into a full-time career eventually. My biggest problem is getting distracted on these and other forums with the next biggest thing hehe.

  • Here's what I suggest: Take a look at the products from Warrior Mike McMillan. He has a lot of free reports that are no-fluff and to the point. His Affiliate War Machine will give you a step-by-step blueprint of what to do EACH day and WILL Organize your efforts. This thing is MASSIVE and will require separate binders (one for the overall strategy, another for the other sheets that you fill in). He is approachable and is sincerely interested in helping others get their own success. He DOES say it will take work, but follow what he teaches and you will get your goals.

  • i feel your pain. I am here learning all i can and i too get bombarded with the promises to make money emails as well. Which i have yet to find any that actually walk the walk and talk the talk.
  • I know I'm not a frequent contributer on these forums. However, I feel your frustration! Do me a favor and bookmark all these so-called gurus websites, with fake testimonials, then visit them in 1 year. I bet you find out that the website is down! These are the hit and run guys that target suckers. They send out junk, to lists that where either bought, or created from their other opt-in crappy clickbank website. These guys don't last long. They quickly realize how saturated this industry is and finds themselves back to square one. However, even with this crap they send out, I bet they find a few "suckers" in the crowd that buy this junk, that is what keeps them from giving up!

  • Hey man I just wanted to say that if its getting to much as it does, often!! theres a lot of bum marketers out there and junk products.
    however what I did is after 1 year i un subscribed from all lists and the guys I remembered about I re subscribed to and I left the others behind!!

    as for wanting to quit!! thats mad (i feel like u needed someone to tell u that ) swap ure mindset a little treat it as a hobby instead of a job and u soon start to generate ldeas for things, and find gaps in not the market, but in your market!! I really hope this helps.

    and if u ever want to bash around some ideas, I find its always good to have someone else to do it with pm me anytime we can do a quick fire round.

    Hang in there. I've seen a LOTS of advice in here pointing in just as many directions as there are subniches to 'making money online'. And they all work - - even in a legitimate way.

    What do you love? Start there.

    Frustration is a downer. Keep at it. Keep us posted too.

  • It does work, you just need to keep at it.

    What worked for me was to stop chasing "the dream" so to speak and to actually look at the flip side of would happen if I didn't make it across the line.

    A lot of people chase the Ferrari, The Mansion, The Holidays etc when in actual fact you'd be better off being motivated by things like not having to get up at any set time, not having to work for anyone else, being able to spend more time with your friends and family.

    The point is if you drive traffic, put up a few affiliate links and generally offer value to the people visiting your stuff the money comes anyway so there is no point of chasing it.

    Best of luck getting past the "I want to give up" stage but I can assure if you work through it some how you won't regret it one little bit.
  • I use to feel that way, what turned it around for me was the day I said it's not the guru but me. Once I said that everything started changing. Also I realized that you don't get the help you need in the course but try to get the cell phone I got the guru to give me a cell phone and called like dozens of time to get the little details. in any case i hope that helps you. Good luck but IM works i have not worked on a job for years take 4 to 6 months of and travel around the world it works. Just dont' give up. Good luck!

  • The gurus spill a lot of crap, but one time one guru said something that stick in my mind : "Don't give up!".
    Also as a newbie I wouldn't try to build a list yet. The squeeze page is very critical, if it doesn't convert you are going to have a long journey.

      Experience has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not to build a list. Building a list is a sound and smart business practice for two primary reasons:

      1. Successful business people (and business consultants, analysts, etc.) will tell you that all of the real money is in the backend, that is, repeat sales to existing customers.

      It costs less to get a sale from an existing customer (you've already spent money to find them) than it does to go find a new one because they presumably know, like and trust you.

      Taking you up on a free offer involves less risk than spending money with you, especially if they don't know you from Adam.

      Which leads to:

      2. To get a sale, you first need to establish trust and credibility with your potential customer. The way to do that is to first give them something of value and THEN offer your products or services.

      Another reason is because although someone may need what you're offering, they may not need it or want it (or have the money for it) right NOW. So you need to stay in regular communication with them so that when they ARE ready to buy, they'll buy from you.

      There are lots of other reasons, but this is why you need to capture their contact information (and any other information you may need) so you can stay in touch.

      Yes, your squeeze page is critical. But if they won't take you up on a free offer (and get on your list), then they aren't very likely to spend money with you either. If your squeeze page (with your free offer) isn't converting, then it's likely your sales page won't convert either.

    I feel your pain! As others have already said, it's only you who can tell when you should give up on IM. Before you do why not make a list of your skills that you could reasonably expect to make money online with.

    Too many people go chasing the gold when they could make far more money with far less effort selling the shovels to the people digging for that gold.

    I don't know if you've read Jim Hudson's inspirational post but you might want to give it a read if only to see that "ordinary" people can make a good living online. Here's the link:

  • Forget all the hype and just do what works.

    You only have to take a look at how real businesses (websites) make their income.

    Just having a website is not a business though, it's basically a shop without customers.

    The "secret" is simply to get traffic (preferably qualified traffic) to your website and lots of it!

    There are tons of ways to get traffic but don't try and do more than a couple of methods to start with unless you've got good resources.

    Articles, seo and backlinks, or paid methods if you want to burn some cash, but make sure you put enough effort in.

  • What gives these marketers the right to send you emails about crappy pushbutton systems? You do, because you subscribed to their lists.

    This is just the frustration in you talking - I'd unsubscribe from every one of these lists, take a deep breath, and get to work on a established method that will bring you results. Do not be deceived into thinking that you'll make money overnight with very little effort.

    It takes time and consistent, focused effort to start making real money in IM - you weren't looking for a shortcut by subscribing to these Gurus' lists, were you? If I were you, I'd get to work right away, and stop dreaming about quick riches overnight.

    The reason you receive so many "make millions" emails is that many people respond to them. Where there's demand, there will be supply.

    The internet is a huge opportunity, but it ain't a magic bullet. It does require effort - and patience.

  • The key is to find what you love to do, even if you don't get rich quick ... even if you don't make money doing it in the beginning! Just for a awhile forget about making money and concentrate on doing what you love on the internet. Soon the money will come.

    The beauty of doing what you love is you'll automatically persist at doing it. In turn you'll find your niche and succeed. As the saying goes, the man who can find what they love to do will never work a day in his life.

    Stop chasing money making opportunities, and find what you love to do and money will start chasing you. That's the key most new people miss and most so-called money making books and programs neglect to mention.

  • Nobody said it was easy.(except a few thousand IM Gurus. If it was that easy then probably everyone would have become millionaire by now. You gotta stick with it until start making something. Try and try and then try again the only mantra I know which works.

    I don't have the rights to say that I'm sorry, I know how you feel, or that sort of things. I'm pretty new to this IM thing. Just started out this month and got information overload symptom for the first 2 weeks.

    It's just too bad if you choose to quit IM. I'm sure that you picked up some skills during your time, which is far more better than mine.

    I'm still figuring things out now, but then, I think what really hit you the hardest is the part which there are a lot of WSO / products out there that are really a HYIP type of products. They get you so hyped up then eventually when you don't see the result they are talking about, it slams you back to the ground so hard that you don't even want to stand up any more.

    I cannot say that I have earned some money or not yet, because it's still my first month, and I need to wait for 2 months for my payment to be released. But then, I can tell you how lucky I feel about joining this community. A lot of people I know out here, don't even call themselves gurus, but they are earning lots of money and most important of all, they are willing to pass some wisdom to me.

    The most important thing is not the fact how you are not earning money. But it's the learning & implementing what you learn process. If you are not doing right, just take a little while to see what might be wrong. I also learned that having a Joint Venture is a great thing. They are willing to help you more if you are both benefiting from it.

    My learning method is not by following these so-called gurus' systems, but instead, I learn how they come out with the systems, and try to replicate it myself, leaving out the HYIP scheme. I wouldn't buy all the products out there unless I'm sure that it's original. Most of them are just the same info with a new packaging.

    Oh well, just give it a little try at least, considering how big is the difference between my skills and yours .

  • Never give up, where there's a will there's a way. Took me 6 months to start making money online, and now I have a steady income because I refused to quit when everyone told me to.
  • Maybe its time you stop ranting, stop buying any more products, pick one method, implement the hell out of it, learn what works and what doesn't, then change or scale up accordingly... you will get more results from doing this alone than reading through all those sales pages trying to seduce you to buy more stuff you don't need
  • Be unique, be original, find a niche, you can't be a jack of all trades and master of none, and expect to make money. People don't hire schmucks, they hire experts. The people you are describing, aren't really internet marketers in my opinion, they are charlatans. At any rate, find something you are good at, and love doing, make sure you are creating value, make sure you are really helping people, not just selling them a load of BS. Remember to it is less important what other people are doing, what is important is what you are doing.

    It is very possible to do very well online, so long as you have a plan and stick to it. That is, however, easier said that done, because when you are new, you don't even know what works!!

    If you follow the links in my sig, you will find my blog and my membership site. The blog is all free, and the first half of the membership site is free. The best thing about the latter, is that I show you, step by step, what I did to make it.

    The paid portion of the site talks about how to get traffic. If you are keen, you can find a lot of the information for free, however, it won't be organized in any type of plan, so just keep that in mind.

  • I know it gets frustration but you have to keep at it. Find a product to promote and start promoting. Don't try to promote a million different products at once and don't get sucked in by all the hype and hoopla. There is no magic system that can make you a ton of money quickly. It takes good ol fashioned hard work to make it in IM. Create a plan and then stick with that plan. You will eventually start to see some sales coming in.

  • OK, there's 4 pages of replies so I'm not going to bother reading them. This topic has been brought up so many time it's getting ridiculous to keep answering it over and over... I'm sure others have tried to help.

    But here's my 2cents:

    Grab your (proverbial) balls, stop whining, and start doing.

    You don't need to buy everything under the sun. A builder doesn't read about how to build buildings before he builds a building. He starts learning from the ground up. Being a scrub mixing up cement, being a professionals "tool", and refining his skills down from clueless to clued in.

    Pick a method, work on it. It's that simple (and there's piles of free info floating around so you really have no excuse... unless you're just looking for a get rich quick program that works - which it doesn't by the way).

    I say this because I just read a great post by a certain warrior making $500 a month in her FIRST month. That's what happens when you do the work! Every action has an equal reaction!
