Quickest way for Google to crawl site for title tage change?

Hi Guys

With most of my sites, if I make a change like changing the title tag, google will spot it / crawl it and amend in the search engine within a week or so. However, I have one site, has plenty back links, some high authority...it is wordpress based etc...but if I make a change, again to the title tag, it's taking at least 4 weeks or more to change.

I've tried pinging it and things like that, but doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas of a quick, decent way to give Google a nudge and say "oi mate, wakey wakey, I've made a flippin change to my site" lol

Cheers
Phil

You said you have plenty of backlinks but Google will set how often it will crawl your site depending on how often you update it. So if your site didn't get updated too often then Google wont come check it out everyday.

Best way, instead of waiting, is to create new links on high traffic sites like twitter.

Ahhhh, hang on Aaron, you've hit the nail on the head, stupid me, I haven't really made any changes to that site for a while doh!! That's it then, I just probably need to add some content (ouch, kicking myself right now)

      Thanks for your help

Yeah you definitely need to update the content periodically as well. Building thousand of backlinks will only help your site if actually it has some fresh content often.
Even though I don't know what kind of site it is I guess you can always make some little not necessarily major changes and up date at least once every week

Change title of the site would affect your ranking really fast and it could happen even changing the theme of the site.

One thing to add to this thread: I know it's hard, but you have to be patient with things like this. With sites where it doesn't make much sense to update daily or even weekly, Google will take up to a couple weeks to notice your changes; you just have to wait it out sometimes.
