        Steven,

I think you may be overstating things a bit. I also don't think it would be a very cool thing to post an article here after telling people how bad a practice it is.

That said, I think it does provide a good example of how to rant about negative practices in a positive way. But then, I may be biased.

I've posted it on my WF blog. No need to subscribe to read it.

    Paul,

Excellent post, but 'Klaatu barada nikto!' doesn't work as well without the corresponding hand gestures.

    Maybe a video for this?

There's no point in reading it.

George Lucas thinks the world is going to end in 2012.

Yesterday in the Off-Topic forum, there was a post on these huge UFOs heading for Earth with an ETA of December 2012.

Today, Paul Myers sends out an eMail talking about dangers and robots and closes it with alien-speak.

It's a conspiracy, man. It's clear we're all gonna die in two years.

Forget about eMails. Go outside and play while you still can!

        Dan,

Maybe Paul is an alien robot paving the way for the end, or a takeover by aliens...

depends on what conspiracy camp you subscribe to.

        Thanks,

        John

You should have closed with "Believe it or not!" instead of "Or am I?" to give a bit of a clue to the monster quote.

Some might say that the things we know are actually preventing us learning - because it's much harder to learn when you think you already know.

See...I think there's common sense here...in my restaurant though...I've seen how little common sense actually exists.

Paul's message is timeless and while I'm a lot younger than the guys posting here (admitting I'm probably naive on a LOT of things) I think that even guys who "get it" still need to hear it from time to time.

With much respect for those in here,

    Totally true!

Some might say that the things we know are actually preventing us learning - because it's much harder to learn when you think you already know.

Watch that one. Certainty is a two-edged sword. Everything you know is wrong, but it's all the things you need to remember.

Be awake, and that will make sense...

The "delicate, satin-draped frame" thing is for Ms Wray. Or Judy Garland, depending on how far into the story you are.

As far as O'Brien... Dude was a freaking deranged genius. Take no offense at that.
