I am building a blog and I intent to give lots of freebies like ebooks. What I want to know is if I can take the zip files which are 1 zip file per ebook with the licence sometimes even a ready website for promotion. What I want to do is to remove the html files which go to some ads and put some html files which direct to my blog. I have the rights to do whatever with the ebook but I just don't know if I can touch these files.

I would also like to know a tool (free one) to change the ebook covers and add or remove text.

    If you're unsure about the rights you have, ask the person you purchased them from.

    Open Office can do that. Typically, if you have the rights to edit the eBook, it will be provided in a editable format (like a .doc) file. You can open it in Open Office, make changes and save as a PDF.

    Unless it is a PLR ebook, you cannot change the content.

    If it is PLR ebook, you should also have the ability to edit PDF or better yet have the source file.

    If you do not have the rights specifically defined giving your permission to give away the ebooks, then doing so could be illegal, as it may be in the violation of the owners' copyright.

      Yes, most free e-books require that you don't change the content.

        Yeah. Most free ebook require that I don't change the content. I know that. I just happen to have a lot of ebooks which give me that permission

          Anyways. I found my file hostings.

          I checked the rights. The ebooks are editable.

          Now I'm gonna have a blast with them.
