A theif has stolen my Paypal Screenshots of proof of payments and put them as their own on their site.

What can I do to prevent this happening again or to get the person to stop using my screenshots! Some of them have my name on them!!!!! But they all link to their site!!!!

I am very annoyed! I am all about sharing ideas, and stratagies but I don't steal peoples screenshots! Why should I do all the work for you to take the credit?

  • Put a 50% transparant watermark all over your screenshot, this might solve the problem!
  • Talk to a lawyer, or head over to docstoc.com and get a cease and desist letter.

Send it their way, threatening legal action if they don't remove them right away.
  • Why does it matter, it wont hard you in any way?

I would never watermark as your not supposed to show your paypal account inside, as it is a security threat that paypal do not like.

    • It matters because a person is only as good as their reputation. If someone is promoting a crap product with her name on it, that will hurt her credibility.
    • Well, I'm sorry to say but if she really wants to show proof, then a watermark may not do any harm . It's her account.
  • It had the names etc covered so that no ID's were revealed but there was also one of my email account showing all the sales I had made and you can clearly see my name!

I am just a tad bit annoyed because I feel like there are so many scammers online. I am offering prospects a system that works but I am not prepared to forge, cheat, or lie to sell! Maybe I am just too naive!
  • Just get that same photo and black out your name and send the new one to them and say either replace it or I will replace your site!
  • Nikki, that sucks. I wish I knew exactly what you could do.

I would say a cease and desist letter.
However, if the customer is smart, they can figure out 2 and 2 is 4 and notice they're not paying to the right Paypal account (unless it's CB, then maybe contact them too?)
  • Thanks for all your suggestions!
