Where should a newbie like me start?

Hello world!
I've always had an interest in online marketing but I never knew where to start, but thanks to the great threads on here I now have some info about IM. Here's what I know:

-I need to find my own niche, and then build or buy a product
-I need to have an attractive sales page for the product
-I need to promote my product/website (on-site & off-sit SEO optimization, backlink building, enail marketing, article writing, social bookmarks, feeds) let me know if there's anything else.

Here's the catch: I know what to do, but I don't know how to do it!!
there are too many ebooks on here to buy that promise you tons of $ in 1 week which actually makes it hard for me to believe them because I know for a fact I have to work for it and there's no easy way to do it. Can you guys teach me something that works or point me in the right direction?

..One more thing, when I first joined this this forum I bought a niche blog from gorgeousnicheblogs.com (Blogging Niche Package), it's a nice package that comes with a squeeze page with a report, a minisite with an ebook to sell, and video tutorial bonus. I will post the website when I finish editing all the pages.

My questions:
-was buying this blog package a good investment?
-will I be able to sell the ebook that came with it (since it's PLR would you guys consider buying it or you just buy original stuff)?
-how would you market this blog to sell the product if it was you?

and my last question would be, whats the next best thing to niche blogs if there's any?

Wow that's a lot of questions to annoy the hell out of anybody, I would understand if nobody replies lol

    Here's my 2 cent

    Learn the basic:

    - Learn how to make sales copy
    - Learn how to setup autoresponder
    - Learn how to setup wordpress
    - Learn how to make product
    - Learn how to do list building
    - Learn how to handle payment.

    That is all you need...

You don't know what to do, but you (perhaps) know how to do it. Choose one of the following choices for your riches:
    - Product owner
    - Affiliate Marketer

There are no other options, if you want money, you must trade something (value, stuff) for money.

And if you choose those two options, basic that I list above should cover everything.

      Thanks for your replies

I setup an autoresponder on aweber, i know how to setup wordpress I have actually done it a few times before but not for IM purposes I got a clickbank account for affiliate sales and I also got paypal for payments.
I guess I need to learn how to make sales copy and list building, any good places to learn?
I know a bit of php, html, databases, and programming so setting stuff up should not be a big problem for me. It's the marketing side I'm worried about mainly, I can't get myself to trust somebody selling an ebook sayin "make $500 a day by following my strategy" because if they are already making $500 why would the waste their time selling a £17 ebook in the first place. So is there any place or anybody genuine? I'm really new here so I don't know who's product or internet marketer to trust.

what about the marketing side of things?

Hey, you don't have to learn any of those ebook. Why should you?

Here... if you don't have offer, then traffic is not gonna do anything. So first, create offer. How, by learn on how to make product or grab product out there.

Then, even if you have offer, have traffic, but if you don't have conversion, then it won't do you any good either. Nobody in your traffic going to be BUY your offer.

So you need to create something that convert traffic into buyer. How, by create sales copy.

Rather than buy ebook, how about you COPY what they do to make them money, which is by selling ebook, by create your own product.

        Just my 2 cent...

Bottom line, if you are literally new (less than one month in this business) learn about basic.

You can search on Google, learn from Jason Fladlien (I learn how to create product from him), learn how to get traffic from Kim Roach (I too join her membership site to learn about traffic), and learn about conversion on Robert Plank (I learn make sales copy from him).

so basically a review website or blog with a specific product + a bit of article writing would do it right? I will probably do that after I'm done setting up the niche blog that I bought. I don't want to be doing many things at the same time and ending up not finishing any.

Thanks for your advice bro. I was concerned about getting traffic more than the conversions which is the main reason why we seek to get traffic in the first place. I'm going to read a bit about copy writing for now and I will make sure to google the names you gave me.

I would just say stick to free methods until you have a handle on things, you can learn a lot on this forum and many others.

One thing I learned quickly from Network Marketing is that methods that cost are not always the most effective. Watch out for PCC, and throwing money into expense holy grail software.

You can do a lot of damage with some cheep hosting, some pages on social networking sites, forum marketing, article marketing, and decent auto responder I have Getresponse, but I get the impression that Aweber is a better way to go.

Best of luck to you !

Rather than wasting your money buying countless eBooks, test stuff out.

When I was a newbie all I did was read and never take action. Then one day I decided to just try something, it was a complete and utter failure. But I learnt so much from that failure that when I tried again I knew what to avoid, I still made mistakes but then when I tried again I made less and less mistakes.

I still do stupid **** all the time, it doesn't matter if you make mistakes as long as you can analysis what you did wrong and then try to fix it for the future. In life and IM adopting this motto will do you well.
