Revealed: Search Google Without Local Results...

Warriors,

If you're like me and live outside the US, it can often be a pain trying to do any sort of seo or competitive research in Google because your search results end up littered with local sites such as .com.au here in Australia.

It used to be enough to just type google.com into the browser and it would adjust your search results accordingly. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

To get around this problem and head straight to Google.com WITHOUT any localization at all, simply go to:

http://www.google.com/ncr

Hope it helps!

Awesome! I travel to Bogota, Colombia monthly and it really ticks me off that if I type google.com, it goes to google.com.co and returns Spanish results.

So I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead.

Google.com/ncr doesn't appear to work anymore...does anyone know of another solution?

Hmm I was trying to use it to search from within the US but I need my outsource folks to use it from other countries. Perhaps it will work for them. For me, it just redirects to the regular Google search page.

I will tell them to try it. Thanks!

The actual search page you see will be no different. It just takes you to Google.com but NOT a country specific version. So usually when I type in google it redirects me to google.com.au (Australia). By using the ncr I can bypass that redirect and I am then taken to the Google.com without any country redirect.

FYI. If it is rankings you are wanting to look for then I recommend this free software:
      http://www.link-assistant.com/rank-tracker/

You can look up the current ranking of any website for any keyword in all the various country specific versions of each search engine.
