Does anyone have tips or guidelines for article writing?

Hi everyone.

I am wondering if anyone has general tips or guidelines about article writing for eazine? I have started planning articles for submission, but I'm not sure how to go about setting the article out etc. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, first thing check your spelling

The easiest way to write articles I find is to check out some articles on the same keyword that you are looking to focus on.

Look at 5 or 6 and take 3 or 4 main tips, or points you can use for your article.

Then make the title something like:

"3 Tips To Get Your First Article Out There In 10 Minutes!"

    Number's work well in titles.

Then lay the article out like this:

Tell them what you are going to tell them, then tell them, then tell them what you told them.

"Today I am going to tell you how you can get articles written quicker without getting writer's block.

It does not have to be that hard!

Just have a look at these 3 tips below and I guarantee you will find it easier to write articles:

(Then your tips that you researched)

and then close the article with:

"Today I have told you about X,Y,Z."

    It does get easier.

    Hope this helps,

    Chris

      I'd agree with that.

Also, i've found it helps to not worry about spelling, grammar and making sure everything makes sense. My best articles always come from writing everything that pops into my head about the given subject and making it coherent afterward.

Ezinearticles accept general English, but there should be no grammatical mistakes and not overly promoted articles.

thanks king Shiloh, I am already looking at the article. I will also take a look at article spinner. I have to admit, writing an article for other's websites is easier than trying to write one to add to eazine. Does anyone else find it scary? I read through their rules and was intimidated by it. Does it get easier after the first article?

thanks. I know my spelling can be really bad at the best of days, but I will make sure that anything I post there is as near perfect as I can get. Thank you for your tips.

How long does your article have to be? I recently submitted an article from our site to another site that converts HTML to RSS, and even though the article was quite long, it seemed as if it wasn't long enough.

Check out a site called grammerly dot com. They will check your for article for most grammatical, spelling errors, sentence structure, they check for originality. They give you a 30 day free trail.

The more you write the more comfortable you will feel. If the writing really bothers youm you might want to outsource a couple of articles

        Thank you.

I think I should really try it out myself first before I outsource. I think its just the fear of not doing it the right way and making myself and my company look really immature online that's effecting me the most. I guess a person never really knows unless they try it.

There is definitely an art to writing great articles. Practice does make perfect, but there are a lot of tips and techniques that can boost you from an average article writer to a great one.

The problem is (in my opinion) it is difficult to pick a lot of these up just by reading a few forum posts - although it is a really good start.

Do you have any articles you have written already? I would be more than happy to take a look at them and give you some advice. Just shoot me a PM. I think some advice given in context will provide you with greater benefits.

    Regards,

    Spudnick

go to ezine articles and check out the top ranked articles - see the examples. For me I always try and write freeflow on topic but then personalise by dropping in personal experiences and stories to really get the uniqueness. The more you do the easier it gets - I've got over 80 articles on directories, this is over a pweriod of years mind you - you'll soon discover what works by the views & downloads

I have had a look at article spinner, and I think it would help me a lot with duplicate content and such, but I think I need to focus on how I set out my articles first and get to know how it all works before I work with article spinner.

Write a lot and read a lot. Every single day. Those are the two best ways to improve your writing. There's no magic formula, other than hard work and dedication to the craft. If you're focusing on writing articles, you should try to write at least one article each day, even if it's just for practice.

If you remain persistent and continue to work on becoming a better writer, you'll be amazed at how much you improve over the course of several months.

  • I read the original post.

When you sign up to Ezine article and you write your first article, make sure that they are written like this-

    "Opening intro 100 words

    Headline

    Supporting paragraph 100 words

    Headline

    Supporting paragraph 100 words

    Headline

    Supporting paragraph 100

    Conclusion 100 words"

This is the way most people want their articles written when you write content for them.

Other forums have rules about being snarky by quoting other posters and then changing their quotes to make yourself look cool and knowledgeable, and then saying "Fixed that for you" like some kind of ridiculous muffin.

It's high time this forum started that practice, as well.

If you go to Ezinearticles.com, you'll also find lots of tips on how to write effective articles. I would stay away from Article spinners. Focus on creating good content yourself.

The times of submitting similar or even the same (maybe spun) article to tons of directories are long gone. Now, focus on writing really good articles, and only submit them to very choice directories (preferably after posting a version of it on your own blog and making sure it's indexed by Google first).

          Good luck!

This forum has always tolerated snarkiness.... Maybe that is why it is still the top business forum on the Internet?

p.s. I agree with the sentiment of countering the post that created the opportunity for snarkiness.

Practice. And you should consider writing articles for your own site too - if not your own site only. Plus the more articles you submit, the more comfortable you will be with the process.
