These are a good selection of the different types of questions you'll see people ask. Generally, the ones asking such questions are the ones struggling for an online income. They read stuff and buy stuff and then scratch their heads wondering why their bank accounts aren't filling up the way they thought it would.

But, you know the questions you rarely see struggling marketers ask?

How can I earn money online?

Why can't I earn money online?

What's the best way to earn money online?

Is anyone earning money online?

Is it really possible to earn good money online?

Can someone help me earn money online?

Can anyone show me how to earn money online?

Why am I struggling to earn money online?

What's the fastest way to earn money online?

What's the best product to buy to earn money online?

I suspect it's a difference in mindset. What do you think?

Let me guess, Rinnert.... you're testing to see if you can rank this thread at Google for those target phrases?

      Honestly? No.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

        Hi Dan,

Buying and reading stuff is great and necessary before you start any project. But that isn't enough for progress. You need to absorb and understand what you read. You can to apply only that knowledge what you understand. Beginners often struggling to interpret the terms rightly. That's the reason of putting aside that knowledge oftentimes and asking such questions repeatedly.

Struggling marketers are familiar already that beginners want to understand. So they are asking another sort of questions.

Do you think that or something else? I'm curious.

        Cheers,

        Sandor

Haha... that would be a pretty smart move. Maybe I'll do something that devious when I get "make money online" signature

The thing is that if we spend all our time answering these questions, then we will never make money. Instead if we get to work and at least try something, anything, then we will either be able eliminate it or make money from it.

It really is not that hard.

I see no difference between asking how to earn money online versus how to make money online. When you are a newbie, you don't even know what questions to ask. You don't even have a database to create a list of topics to learn about. A newbie does not have enough knowledge to ask specific questions. If you don't know what you don't know, then you will follow the first thing that comes along that makes any kind of sense. A newbie will glom onto any plan that he or she can understand with their limited knowledge.

You know what can be harder than the learning curve a newbie faces? Jumping from learning the steps to implement a plan to the actual implementation. Link building is boring work, folks, and if you don't have the income to outsource it or the money to spend on automation to speed up your own linkbuilding, then it is easy to stay in the comfort zone of newbie learning.

Not sure I agree with you Diane,
MMO, or Make Money Online is a HUGE HUGE niche, and all of the questions in the OP are excellent search keyword phrases.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand what this thread is about?

Well...I haven't had my coffee yet so maybe that's it.

      Will check back later.

Respectfully, Diane, there is a difference. It's subtle, but it can make the difference between struggling and succeeding.

"Make money" for many means simply that - what do I do so I get money.

"Earn money" implies an exchange of value for value.

An even better question is "What value can I provide that people will exchange their money for my value?"

And as such, are unlikely to rank very highly from a single forum post - even here...

You're right - you didn't. I made an associative leap from the (imaginary?) flow of first three posts quoted above, which seemed to come from the same direction.

It wasn't a challenge or accusation, just an observation.

          We cool?

You beat me to it, John. Words matter...they have the power to influence our actions and our lives, and it surprises me that most marketers don't get this. Copywriters get it, at least the good ones do.
