I recently received a request to create a video spinner tool. At first I couldn't understand what it was at all. I thought they wanted me to randomly shuffle the frames. Then it seems that they wanted to shuffle the "text" in the video.

My question to you is why would this be useful?

I understand the value of article spinning and uploading different versions of articles to various sites, etc. But why spin video content? I can't imagine it would increase any SEO value. IF you have a version of a video you want to upload, why not upload a single version to all your sites?

Does anyone do this? Does it work for you?

There is 2 reasons for doing this - #1 - Most sites do not allow multiple submission of the same video. Therefore, if you were able to take 1 video and turn it into 10 different videos you can submit all 10 giving you more exposure.

#2 - Believe it or not youtube does index videos based on the content (Script) of the video. They somehow can transcribe the text of the video and index the video based on the seo value of the transcribed text.

There's a product out where a guy is selling a video spinner that replaces keywords supposedly for SEO purposes (my assumption).

Another assumption on my part is that folks think if they suddenly start creating hundreds or thousands of spun videos they will somehow be able to outrank quality content in the serps.

But you have to ask yourself the question "Is this a good long term strategy or will this just work for the short term?"

And if you think the proliferation of spun videos is good for the web as a whole then you probably will fool yourself into thinking that it will also stand the test of time.

    My assumption is it won't.

Another assumption on my part is that the process will leave enough of a footprint that SEs like Google will be able to identfy and remove such unwanted material from their serps.

Now, whether or not you can make short term money using spun videos is another matter. You probably can.

Just don't take out a 5 year loan to buy a Lambo based on that income.
