Making money with Groupon Craze

I have been hearing a lot buzz about Groupon and their geo-sensitive ads thru Commission Junction
Has anyone had any experience with this?
The Mage guy has developed a program for this that will probably cost $1000+
I am surprised no one has made a WSO about this.

So how do you make money with Groupon?

        Sorry about the unintentional thread hijack Alan. I thought you were talking about groupon-style marketing, not the groupon affiliate offers.

            I don't know but right now there are a lot of groupon type sites around and groupon seems to be on top. Google always seems to have something up their sleeve.
            During my research on this there was an article about Groupon becoming the next Google.

          That's ok I need someone to hijack this thread ha ha I was looking for someone who is making use of Groupon pacifically. Just like the Ebayers or Amazoners. I heard their pay-per-click is good. Just looking for more info.

          It's funny when I googled "making money with groupon" this thread was on the first page in 15 minutes

    I did a little reseach I have to say none of this is verified.

    It is like ebay offers time limted deals without the EPN bs.

    Groupon pays $10 in Groupon Bucks if you get someone to sign up

    You can offer your own products

    Local businesses can offer Time sensitive discounts or coupons with a countdown clock (Attention Offline Consultants)

    Local Business can also get "Featured" for a small commission

    You can access Groupon with a mobile device

    You can purchase gift coupons to send to friends and clients

    They have an affiliate program

      I would have to ask myself would I rather be an affiliate with Amazon or the Book&Bean located in Green River, Wy. I think Amazon might be a better choice.

      Hi Barb,

      I just joined The Customer Advantage last week and have been throwing all my marketing skills into it. It's a good "something extra" to offer clients if you do offline consulting, although so far the response has been "too good to be true".

      Main street businesses don't immediately get how residual income or viral marketing works.

      I was a part of Apple, Netscape and a few others in their infancy. Some of us who stuck it out longer than others made a killing. This could be just as big but without years of sweating out stock options. I mean, zero investment of any kind? What a no-brainer.

      Anyway, I'm excited as hell.

      I have joined The Customer Advantage as well - have seen our group grow from 1 to 184 in about 3 weeks. Very, very exciting to get in this early.

      May not make a dime with it once it launches - but heck - it's free to join, so you can't beat that kind of risk reward...

    You could also stimulate sales among your existing customers (this is only if you already have a decent customer base to begin with) by incentivizing them to join your mailing list to receive exclusive offers.

    This way, you'd be able to get a large proportion of your existing customer base subscribed to your autoresponder list, and you'd have a nice group of warm prospects to market to via email whenever you like.

      I've had two leads a month that want to offer me $10,000 to duplicate groupon for their business. I first laugh, and then tell the person how many programmers groupon has on staff, and then tell them they need a bigger budget!

      But hey, if you're a starving programmer and are into doing $1 worth of work for $.10, then go for it.
