Amazon review Sites - Should I do one large site full of reviews or smaller niche specific sites?

Hello all. I am starting to get into promoting amazon products quite a bit but I still have a decision to make about my site(s) that I haven't decided on yet.

I am wondering if it is better to go one large site full of many different product reviews or do many smaller sites in which each site targets a certain niche.

Here's my reasons for each:

I have a domain name that is a more of a general review site and the domain name is a couple years old with PR1 and a few hundred backlinks in Google so it has allready gained some Google trust. Also I figure that using this site and adding many reviews will make it easier to rank the reviews as the site allready has that Google trust factor. Also, looking long term if I build backlinks to only one site and build backlinks across just one site it will help increase my PR and authority over time so it would essentially be easier to rank reviews in the future (maybe).

On the other hand my reasons for wanting to build many smaller review sites that each target a specific niche are this. once the sites starts doing well and making money I could sell the individual sites for higher profits on somewhere like Flippa but with only 1 site I couldn't do that. Also the little sites would all be using new domain names that have no trust factor yet and therefore probably wouldn't ranks as well as fast and would probably do the Google dance a lot more first as well before it would get a god ranking which could take a while.

So I would like to get some feedback from you guys if you don't mind on which option you would go for a why or which option is best. thanks a million.

i would go with minisites. As you said, you can flip each of them for profit. Also you can use some keyword rich domain that can help a lot in your SEO

I'm also going with smaller niches. I find that it is easier to rank for small keywords and crank out tons of different websites. People are able to look around at your site for alternative products.

Although, in the long run it might be more profitable to just have one large review site. But, that would also require much more patience that many people (not saying YOU) just don't have.

Now with regards to domain names then I guess for the overall main domain name it would be better to have a general niche review site name. I mean if my niche was air compressors then my domain should be something like aircompressorreviews.com rather than something like dewaltaircompressors.com or dewaltaircompressorreviews.com right. This way I avoid any issues with using the company name in the domain name. Correct me if I'm wrong Thanks for the feedback

Although general niche domains might be harder to find, I think that they are definitely worth trying to find.

Here is a little tip that I use:
If you find a great keyword and all the domains (.com, .org, .net) are taken, hold off before you begin searching for another one. First go to Whois Lookup - Domain Names Search, Registration, & Availability | Whois.net and then search for when each extension is set to expire. Then create an Excel spreadsheet with the domain and expiration date for each one. Then on the day that they expire, go check to see if they were renewed. If they weren't renewed, you are now able to buy a great domain because you have already researched the keyword.

I usually have a list of 3-5 domains to check everyday

Definitely small niches. Think of the smallest niches you can and go one smaller. Go with exact domain keyword matches. There is value there, both real and perceived.

Definitely go for the smaller niche specific site. Although many exact match domains have been taken, look at the product categories keywords with qualifiers....You can easily snag some great keywords with good monthly volumes....Read about it more in Tip #2 here.

I am at the moment going after particular products but was wondering whether picking a group of products eg. unicylcles and reviewing them would be more profitable?

Go with small niches then to big one. Don't stick too long for small. You should grow and learn.

I will make many mini sites with 3-5 reviews. It likes a research. Because some of products are not giving a big revenue.

I have both large authority sites and smaller niche sites. I have noticed that my smaller niche sites will rank on the first page of the search engines faster with a PR0. They also have more staying power on the first page than the individual pages of my larger authority sites. Either way, you'll still make money. It just takes a little bit more effort to keep your larger authority sites ranked.
