Hi Everyone

I am thinking of going into the weight loss industry but i wondered what people's opionion was on me going just into the weight loss niche or going deeper to something like weight loss through low carbohydrate diets?

Which one would be better to sell a funnel of products too?

Thanks

Rich

I would recommend a survey of your target market before you establish that

The weight loss niche is quite competitive.

A good tip is to target in on specific areas of weight loss. For example, lose arm fat, lose leg fat, etc. While these niches still have competition they're much easier to survive in the broad "weight loss" niche.

The more niched you are the better in my opinion.

Have you done keyword research? That sounds like a good niche, and I'm sure it is, but you need to be able to get ranked and have enough traffic for the keywords you're targeting.

    Hi Rich

I am not an expert in niche selection but I know that the weight loss niche is very competitive, I would suggest digging deeper and find a sub niche with less competition if you're only starting now.

Brainstorm and use free tools to check your keywords and competition.

    Hope this helps

Weight loss is a very competitive niche. Go deeper into the keyword research would be better.

Like the others have said, weight loss is verrrrrrry competitive. If you're going to go that route you have to dig a little deeper.

I always tell people to get into the niche they know the most about. If you've lost a ton of weight with a low carb diet, then that might be a good route for you. It's easiest to write about what you know.

One of my most successful blogs is about cigars. I know them well, and I've been smoking them with my father for ten years now. We paired up, and have a great moneymaking blog.

As a Newbie I wouldn't go near weight loss.

If you have a specific niche with in you may have more luck but it'll still be hard.

Whatever you do, do your your researcg first, look at what your competition is doing and how strong they are.

You're better off picking a smaller niche that gives you a chance of competing. Especially if you're learning.

the weight loss market is massive but also very competitive, you must dig very deep and find a real sub niche of it. I already have a product in this market, which is a niche of a niche and I struggle with it currently - its hard work that market

People are right when they say that weight loss is a pretty competitive niche to get into. Is it impossible to make money off it? No, there are a lot of really hungry buyers out there. You would just need to do a lot of keyword research to find a good sub-niche with some ranking loopholes you could jump into.

I've had some pretty good luck with the addiction niche though, hungry buyers but the competition isn't so bad.

There is one major problem when it comes to anything to do with weight loss. As others have mentioned above you need to do some major keyword research first. Most of the target keywords in the weight loss niche are very competitive and you do not want to be having to fight the big dogs on your first niche. If you can find a handful of good keywords with low competition and high search volumes. I would say go for it. Keep in mind though you should also make sure that those sites with the low competion are not completely out of reach.

Do some really good research first. I know there are alot of good keywords out their for the weight loss niche but far too many of them are out of reach for even the seasoned pros. Now depending upon what keyword tool you are going to be using. It could take several hours to find even 10 keywords you could set up shop in. Best of luck to you hope this helps.

Go to Adword Key Tool and do some research for string keywords for your niche.

You should choose such key words who have....

    Good search value
    Good Estimated Avg. CPC
Also observe Competition of those key word.

    Hope it will work well.

Weight Loss is one of those "Giants."

However, it depends on what your business model is which in return will determine how profitable you are.

If you want to go down the Adsense/Affiliate/Amazon type route then you will need to dig really deep and find keywords with a decent search volume coupled with mid to low competition further coupled with decent click prices.

If you want to go down the selling prouct route (as an affiliate or vendor) then you better get your boxing gloves and find out exactly what your competition are doing, develop a way to do it better and more cost effectively and work that plan until it becomes successful.

But don't let anyone put you off it. If you think you can do it then work hard at it and eventually it will come for you.

Think of it as getting your foot in the door.

Enter a lower competion niche, and as you become successful, broaden your niche to straddle the competitive niche as well.

I have used this strategy to get visitors to buy again and again. Of course, your first offering should be great quality so people trust your knowledge.

Are you good , I mean , really good at something ? I would pick a niche around my expertise first - get familiar and than migrate my knowledge to a popular niche, keywords.
