Please explain article marketing

INTERNET MARKETING

Can someone explain to me in relatively simple terms what the concept is of article marketing? I know it's supposed to give backlinks. I read that you don't do it for traffic but if your article gets to the first page of Google that brings traffic right? And the person clicking on it is obviously looking for info. on the search term you use for your keyword, right? Any real simple and cheap article marketing courses you care to recommend? Not even sure what the ideal length should be for an Eza article. Thanks.

Also, when people click on your links they may sign up for your mailing list or buy a product IF they found value in your article and IF you give them an opportunity to "join your tribe" so to speak.

A few different answers.

1. For traffic. Target non competitive keywords and they can rank high in SE easy and then bring traffic to whatever your linking to.
2. SEO. Article marketing is the best/easiest way to build deep links. You can link to anywhere on your site and the links appear to be within content.
3. Falls under the top 2 but also presell. By this you are basically buttering up your future customer so when the click on the link in your resource box they will be ready to buy.

Oh dear ... please excuse my disparaging tone but that's not a great initial standpoint for understanding article marketing.

It depends entirely which model of article marketing you're using, and why: whether you're writing primarily for syndication, primarily for traffic, or only for backlinks (in which case it makes no difference, really).

If you are a informative and interesting writer you can make good page ranks in article marketing, the key is to make your name with that website, so that you can make a good profile with a to your main website. The more creative you are the better you will be.
