Little Known *AWESOME* Traffic Methods :)

Hey guys,

So I just wanted to give something back to the forum. I stumbled upon a few lesser known traffic methods that I thought I would share for those of you that are new and those of you that want new traffic sources.

1.) Fiverr - Here you can pay only 5 bucks and get blasts to thousands of twitter and facebook followers. I've never seen a cheaper place to advertise online to that many people. HIGHLY recommended!

P.S. Make sure you check the users feedback. Some people just take the 5 bucks and never send a blast. Make sure they are trustworthy first.

2.) Tube Mogul - This is a great source to blast your videos to tons of video sites (youtube, dailymotion, veoh, etc...) all at the same time. Great for video marketing! All automatic once you've signed up for the sites and entered your login info.

3.) Slideshare - You can use this resource to create short ebooks with your affiliate links (and/or optin page link) embedded into it. Great for ongoing and automatic traffic generation.

Hope these help you guys out! Best of luck to all of you in your efforts! Remember, the money is in the list! Try to focus on building your mailing list(s) in order to increase your profitability.

To your success,
Gina Reedy

  • Tube mogul is flat out awesome, and as far as fiverr goes, be sure to shop around fir lists that relate to your current audience.

I considered using fiverr but the feedback doesn't look to good even for the highly rated gigs. There's gigs where they'll send a tweet out to 80,000 followers but then you hear that someone only got 400 clicks from it.

I thought Tube Mogul didn't allow affiliate marketing video's?

With regards to twitter: Social marketing traffic converts very little. But the price is right! For $5 and 400 clicks or so I wouldn't complain.

Never heard about Tube Mogul not allowing aff marketing vids. If that's the case you can always post unrelated (popular) videos then link to a somewhat related affiliate product.

Can you explain this method? Are you talking about taking popular videos in the related niche/market and having your affiliate link next to the video?

I have heard that Tube Mogul is not wild about marketing content on its system.

Another, similar, alternative is PixelPipe which i have heard a bit about recently and plan to utilize it for a new niche site I'm launching. It can really get your content out there fast and to a lot of sites.

I've heard Traffic Geyser was great when it came out but now not as effective. And why buy it, as it's so expensive?

A service like pixelpipe can do essentially the same thing, and for free. Also if I'm not mistaken Traffic Geyser is a monthly membership. No thanks.

Some people prefer tube mogul which is why I mentioned it. Plus, it's 100% free. But yeah if there is an affiliate-related problem going on there than pixelpipe sounds good. Thanks for the share.

Well of course, free is better, that's why people would prefer it over traffic geyser. Not really sure I see the point of traffic geyser when you've got free sites around that do much of the same thing.

Ya I'm not sure what I read about tubemogul, possibly not fans of affiliate marketing is what it was, but they obviously are all about marketing, so I think I misspoke. I do think they are ultimately about providing the free service so they can get paying clients, at least from what I can tell about their site.

It's certainly worth trying out, however.

Well I think a great way to get around it then would be to create non-related videos with affiliate links in the descriptions and stuff like that.

A blessing in disguise if you ask me - better you learn that now rather than later. You will get much better results using short informational videos rather than commercial videos. How about converting some articles into some short informative videos. You will get much more targeted visitors to your site.

You need to think of video marketing along the same lines as article marketing. You wouldn't go and write some sales pitch and try and submit it to all the article sites, would you? So don't do the same with video. The difference is that video sites will let you submit commercial videos - it doesn't mean you should though.

I think the best way to drive traffic is find little offers on Fiverr. You have to use various methods and techniques to get good rankings. Fiverr has a ton of them which will cost you about $25 total in the end.

Want to try out Traffic Geyser? Hire someone on Fiverr to run it for you. Want to try out SENuke? $5... Unique Article Wizard? $5. I can go on and on...

Now that's an outstanding way to utilize Fiverr in a productive manner allowing you to benefit from those services and allowing someone to quickly earn $5 for running a task they have probably already done so hundreds of times before.

For $25 dollars why not just purchase traffic? Honestly not trying to promote here but I, along with some friends with commerce sites, use my product and get some really good results...granted it's not organic, but it is targeted and if your site is more than a one page sales ad and actually has some value and a place to build your list, it's a good way to convert and build some sustainable traffic/income. Just throwin that out there

Could definitely purchase traffic but I'm trying to let others know about free methods to help mostly those just starting out. Also, with free traffic, people need to be careful because it's not always unique and/or real human beings that are viewing your sites. Sometimes it's merely a computer program.

I'll assume you meant "paid traffic," not "free traffic" that people need to be careful of haha But yes I totally agree, there are lots of sites that either don't offer targeted traffic, use bots and programs to make it look like they are sending traffic, etc. I've been victim to them all haha...I had money to invest when I started in all of this (usually teaming up with friends, etc.) so I had to try it out, some sucked, some worked great...which is why I did my own thing, don't have to worry about it now haha

Gina, I'm not knocking your list, but I do have to question your definitions...

How is spending money on Fiverr for ad blasts or anything else "free" traffic?

Also, traffic that does not convert, at any price, is pretty expensive IMO.

Now that I'm done picking nits, I think this thread has brought up a perfect way for the folks who get the willies from the idea of "paid" traffic to get their feet wet.

Particularly the idea of using Fiverr and similar services to run jobs using certain methods without having to purchase the software and climb each learning curve.

    Good list Gina!

I like all three methods but each have varied results. With Fiverr you have to shop around which takes a small amount of time.

I like Tube Mogul but they can be picky and Slideshare is a great resource.

Outside of the box methods can contribute greatly to the overall traffic generated for a website. As a combined element the synergy they create is awesome.

Yeal I've used fiverr for some videos and articles, it just takes some searching around for the right person to do them. But once you find some one that does decent work you can stick with them and get many videos and articles at a great price.

I haven't tried the twitter or facebook blasts but they could work for some traffic I guess. But I have a twitter account with several thousand followers and the traffic I get from it doesn't seem to convert all that well.

Personally I'm a fan of paid traffic using PPC or targeted banners. I get my best results and have the most fun when I tread off the beaten path when it comes to choosing keywords with PPC or finding sites for banner targeting.

For example, a couple years ago I heard a well known marketer teach a method for marketing affiliate products using PPC by targeting keywords related to late night infomercials (can also work well with placement targets). The gist of the method was you would bid on the various infomercial keywords but link to a different but similar product that would pay you a commission.

The method is known but most people don't even try it...

I think it depends on what you want to do.

For example, posting on forums is very time consuming, and could (conceivably) have a very low relative ROI - i.e. number of clicks compared to how much time you spend doing it. However, it's a great long-term strategy to build your online presence and credibility, as well as establishing a name for yourself. You can leverage that later on into further credibility, which can be further leveraged.

For instance, before I even got into selling stuff online, I was a member of a prominent forum in the niche in which I finally ended up going into online, simply b/c it was a big hobby/passion of mine. I was very involved on the forum (helped that I was pretty knowledgeable about the subject - LOL), and eventually asked to become a moderator.

When I decided go online, I was able to use my 'status' as a mod on this prominent forum to get other prominent authority sites in the niche to publish my articles. One deal even ended up leading to me having my own regular column on a highly regarded news site in the niche.

All that led to plenty of traffic and opt-ins to my list, but it took a long time (years) to realize. Of course, it wasn't my original intent, either, though.

Had my intent been clicks from the get go, I prolly could have gotten as many clicks via articles directories or whatever, but the quality of traffic wouldn't have been as high, nor would it have led to the same amount of credibility.

Would I recommend forum posting for a niche blog/mini-site? Nope. Would I recommend it if you wanted to establish yourself in a market? Damn straight.

Gotta take your overall goals into account, IMO.

    Great Tips Here,

Fiverr is great for testing marketing strategy, but you still need a real test plan....to work from...

Tobue Mogue is great, except Pixel Pipe is even better...

Slideshare, or any other document share sites always great.. for both ranking and traffic..make sure embed your site link on both top and buttom of your documents...

If you think of it as only getting 400 clicks out of 80,000 followers, it doesn't sound so good. But, if you think of it as getting 400 clicks for just over a penny per click it doesn't sound too bad.

Absolutely this is proving to be great thread. While it has produced some good ideas offered by others I think maybe it's even better value is the inspiration. it fires the imagination, gets you thinking out of the box after all this is where the true sparks of genus come from. You get my vote of disapproval also.

I think the best way to drive traffic is find little offers on Fiverr. You have to use various methods and techniques to get good rankings. Fiverr has a ton of them which will cost you about $25 total in the end.
Might not be a bad investment if done every two weeks or monthly. Mmmm@

You definitely have to be careful with Fiverr. I got a bunch of forum signatures posted to Chinese blogs - or something I couldn't read. So far (a month later), they haven't registered as backlinks - but I guess it was worth a try. .

Personally I find AdWords and SEO are the biggest steady traffic sources I get. Not too hard once you have your head around them and can lead to massive traffic. Hope that helps. David.

I like direct-to-site media buys. All you need is a low-end ad server (i.e. adshuffle), load up some creatives, get inventory and you'll be all set.

Contrary to what most think, small site media buys are not that expensive to start off with (dependent on niche, of course).

Media buys could be good as well. But one thing to keep in mind is that if it's not highly targeted there was just a huge waste of money.

That's very true. I'm in the dating vertical so I'm always on the lookout for dating blogs, relationship forums and the like.

My product doesn't do well on search (in fact I discourage my affiliates from doing PPC), but I've got affiliates making five figures monthly on my product alone from small site media buys. The trick here is to negotiate for a flat placement fee, and then rotate the creatives to optimize for eCPM.

It might sound complicated, but it's fairly easy to execute once you nail the process down.

Probably not... I'm not in the business of selling (IM) knowledge anyways. I do share quite freely among my affiliates though - they are the lifeblood of my business.

I use Direct CPV, that pay-per-view traffic site. It does a really good job of getting you targeted traffic on the pennies. You can target keywords or actual URLs for as little as 1.5 cent per view. They use popunders/overs kind of like those Netflix popunders you see.

For one site I was able 450 view off $10. But the Internet Marketing Niche is expensive, some as high as $1.58 a view. These people are nuts to bid that high. You can still target URLs for as little as 2 cents a view.

But you need $100 to start the account. And it takes a day (one working day) to approve your link. No hate speech, self-starting videos and pop-ups, etc.

It's a great way to test a landing page or the copy on your squeeze page for conversions. You can geo-target, keyword-target and URL target.

Tip: When targeting URLs, be sure to study the demographics of the audience for that site on Alexa.

Nothing is ever as targeted as search engine traffic, but this is pretty close.

      Leveraging and outsourcing.

Once warriors work out the true power of this, the sky is the limit.

While I will admit I have been scammed on fiverr a few times. Man that place is a treasure trove of great works and bargains waiting to be plucked from thin air. Especially if you need to get some outsourcing done.

I used to like tubemogul (when it was free) but found the most effective video site in tubemoguls selection was dailymotion so i tend to post direct to that.

For me it has to be PAD file submission, if you give away software (like I do) or if you dont turn a webpage or PDF into a .exe and submit that instead.

I mostly use Fiverr and Forums But as other posters put - you definitely need to treat Fiverr carefully if you want meaningful traffic. And by the looks of your poll, it seems to still be a highly under-used way to get some great viewers to your site/twitter/links.

I voted for CPC in the poll above ... that and affiliates are my favorite sources of traffic. But if you are discussing free/cheap traffic methods for newbies, CPC is still an option. There are those $100 in free Google traffic coupons and links floating around all over the place, and I've seen other smaller search engines and similar places with $25 free credit for new accounts on and off through the years. That could be a good way for a newbie to get their feet wet in the search engines and maybe find a good keyword or two that converts cheaply for them. New websites can also submit their url to large and small search engines and directories for free, I don't have a list handy but they are out there ... or simply contact related sites and ask them to put your link up (depending on the subject matter, obviously that is easier for educational sites versus competitive commercial sites).

My favourite traffic method is still (and probably always will be) article marketing. It takes time but the traffic is for life!

I've tried the Fiverr twitter blasts and they do work but it's rare to find a targeted blast so like others have said, the clicks are low even if the follower count is high.

    Thanks

It's great. The only drawback is the limited number of video services you can submit to. However, they cover the heavy hitters and oh yeah...it's free
