ARGH!!! Clickbank does it again! I have a customer who tried to purchase a product via my affiliate link and he say that Clickbank was

unable to process his order at this time...

I mean... is there suppose to be a specific time for people to purchase via the Internet... Clickbank is really getting on my nerve with this shit... I promote via PPC and i'm losing money if they continue to have this f**king error...

Ye, I've had it with clickbank. The only reason why I use them is
because I am a vendor so the affiliate issues don't effect me this much.

I have noticed some serious problems with their tracking lately and
all kinds of other stuff I won't even mention here.

CPA networks are much more profitable if you are running ppc
    campaigns through adwords.

This happens. I would ask him what method of payment he was trying to use and if he has another credit card he can try. Also remind him they accept Paypal.

Did he try entering the info again? It's possible he mistyped it.

It's not necessarily Clickbank's fault (but often is)- I had a non-CB purchase rejected recently. I thought something was wrong with that site (which was brand new) since I entered the info several times and kept getting an error message. Turned out my CC company's fraud dept decided to do one of their random rejections they like to do from time to time just to screw with us.

Lots of times there is a failure it is because a fraud trigger is triggered.

One of my bigger affiliates has had this happen to her two times in promoting my products (and obviously other times in promoting others products.)

In these instances, we worked out an arrangement where she just runs the customer charge card directly into her merchant account and shoots me a paypal payment for the 50% "wholesale" fee and I send the customer an email with access.

It works well for us but I know that there are other instances where it doesn't work so nicely and I lose sales because of it.

The problem is most likely the fraud triggers.

For instance, a credit card which is good could be suspended for a short period of time due to what the card issuer considers odd behavior. And it doesn't get unsuspended until the card holder calls them to verify the charges.

This happens to me sometimes with my Discover card when I buy something really different than my normal pattern of buying. I expect it is the same in many of these instances.

Well, Clickbank better fix their damn problem because EVERY single other affiliate program I use works perfectly fine. Everyone converts great without all this crap that Clickbank seems to cause.

I really don't know what to say about ClickBank anymore. While I'll still be promoting some of their products there is no way that I am going to be putting forth as much effort as I was before. I will say one thing though. The whole ClickBank issue has given me a reason to search for different affiliate programs as well as try out CPA and adsense.

This happens all the time with all payment processors - their site might be updating their scripts, payment processors whatever!

Have you asked your prospective purchaser to try again?

    Do you do online banking?
How many times have you tried to process a payment, only to find that the "service is not available at this time!"

I think us IMers take things too personally!

Sh!t happens......... but the old saying of, it at first you don't succeed, try try again.

Never has happened to me (I guess that's because I don't by CB products lol). Don't seem to run into any problems with other affiliate programs. Only Clickbank. Must be just a magic coincidence.

I posted about this the other day.

Long story short: I tried to pay for a CB product with my CC which had recently been replaced due to wear. I used the new CVV number and was given the unable to process message. After a few tries using other browsers I had a burst of inspiration and entered my old CVV, and the sale went through.

It could be an anti-fraud measure, or it could be that the bank has not updated its own database, or the database provided to online merchants.

I suspect the latter because I have used the old CVV since on other online purchases and it still works.

To play Devil's Advocate - I find CB, even with their problems (if there are any), convert better for me than any other service, including PayDotCom through PayPal.

Like, way, way, way better. </Valley Girl speech>

    Food for thought.

I have the complete opposite effect. In fact I send 1/20th the traffic to PDC and make more money than clickbank.

    Hi all,

I get this quite a lot and usually get around it by entering a different email address, I also get the same message now and again with (4). Alas it didn't work today.
I suspected that it may be because I return a high percentages of purchases if I don't feel its the right system or it doesn't look like it will fulfill its promises

Never use CB for subscription based products... you are losing at least 30% sales.

CB is simply rejecting subscription payment from most of the Asian, African and European regions.

Today I tried 10 different credit cards and PP account to buy ReadyMadeAffiliateSites...all failed.

I can make payment for "one time only charge" products with PP and CC...but never succeeded in making payment for subscription sites.

    CB sucks...surely

    Guys...Guys...Guys.

Clickbank does this because it has banned the credit card of that certain person because he/she is a pro refunder. There are people who regularly buy stuff from clickbank marketplace and always ask for a refund.

Just ask clickbank about it and they will be more than glad to assist you.

Thanks for the latest posts on this, I do regularly
refund on Clickbank because I take time to evaluate
the program, try it out and feel I have the right to
refund if I decide its not what the sales letter makes
it out to be. (applies to 95% of their stuff)

We all know how good these sales letters are
and why not, but Clickbank should be grateful
for any kind of business and realise that a high
number of products are not up to much

Professional refunders! That sounds like my wife. At least she is getting her shopping fix without spending any money. I guess that makes sense, there are people who want all this free information and aren't really willing to pay those who work our butt off to create it.

          Hi

Please don't tar all refunders with the same brush. I can assure you if I refund its because I've no use for the contents and thus it gets deleted.

I promote popular Clickbank products myself, about to become a publisher there and retained a fair bit of money's worth over the years so I'll be pretty peeved if refunding is the reason. If that's the case I'll be moving to PayDotCom

Although this may be one of the reasons it is definitely not the only reason. I've had 4 different friends of mine who have NEVER even heard of clickbank try and purchase our product. All 4 payments came up with the same error message (unable to process order). With that said, we all live overseas so could it be the location we are in?

So yeh! I would say in a way clickbank is helping publishers and affiliates at the same time because it saves us the refund fee we unnecessarily have to pay just because someone wants everything for free.

    Few valid reasons here.

I buy lots of CB stuffs but in the past 3 years I only had 2 refunds!

As I said earlier CB still accepts my cards for non-recurring products.

    Weird

This occasionally happens with PayPal too.

A customer will contact me to report that PayPal will not accept their card payment.

Often times, if they wait a while and retry, it works fine so it could be some sort of "block" in the approval process.

I guess it happens to all payment processors now and again.

    Cheers,

I to have seen this with both clickbank and paypal but really what can you do!!!

They don't care that you have potentially lost a sale as they are way to big to care about an individual sale or two.

All in all its the price you pay for their service which to be honest is good 95% of the time, just want it to be 100%

    Hi guys,
I am new to WF and this is my first post. As i found this tread on clickbank, i decided to tell my story. I am a newbie and recently set up a self hosted wordpress site to promote a product. So i have done all the bum marketing stuff, sent my articles to Ezines and other directories and have them published. Some went to first page of Google for their respective keywords generating a nice traffic to my site with a 18/20 % click through rate, others went to e-mails. So far thousands of people have read my articles and more than a thousand have visited my site. Statcounter and clickbank hop link analytics tells me that last month this site has been visited by 380 people, 360 of which clicked through my hoplinks visiting the merchand page. I also get organic traffic on top directly from search engines. All affiliate links are cloaked with a wordpress plug in that completely masks the affiliate ID both after the click in the browser and once landed on the merchand sale page. They are all working up to the purchase page with my affiliate id showing on the bottom. So far a thousand plus people visited the site and most clicked through the affilate links.
Total sales so far : 0
Now, my first site certainly sucks, but after 1000 plus visitors who were interested enough to click consistently through, i start having doubts. The merchand sale page should have a 1% conversion and it is a popular fitness product with a 150 gravity or so. Even if my site is utter crap, 1000 visitors or so to the merchand page should have generated some sales. Instead nothing.
Another free wordpress presell page i set up few days ago for a different product with only one Ezine article linking to it has given me my first sale after just 30 hops.
I know for a fact that clickbank "unable to process your order this time" is a recurring problem because it happened to me in the past with perfectly valid cards and paypal accounts.
Does anyone share the same experience, and if this is the problem, what can be done about it? Am i wasting my time with clickbank?
have a nice day to all.

This thread is a bit old, but I'm posting here because in the last 3 days I've had two customers email me with the "unable to process order" error. I'm a vendor. I find it funny that these two emails came so close together. My product has been on CB since November 2008 and this is the first time I'm getting these emails. Sales were very slow over these days as well. Something is up with CB payment processing, I suspect.

I emailed them through their online form to ask what the problem was. No reply yet. That was 2 days ago.

Anyone have a proper email address for vendors to use? You'd think I'd get a decent reply. My product's gravity has been climbing, refund rate is low, they should take me seriously.

CB will sometimes refuse to process orders placed by serial refunders. Just another possibility of why it might be happening.

Hi to all, this is my first post on the forum. I have been into IM for over a year now and never got around to contributing much.

I found this thread when I searched for experiences with the "unable to process order" message.

I have just tested my products because sales are very slow for two days now. I processed the first two orders and then I keep getting the message "unable to process". I think whoever said above that the fraud trigger is responsible for most of this is just right. I suspect that the fact that I tried the test purchases with different card numbers from the same computer might be the trigger.

It is scary because I cannot be sure whether people can process their orders and I am spending money on advertising every minute.
