Someone offered to buy my domain

As the title says, I woke up this morning and found this email in my inbox:

Hi,

I tried registering [domain name] but i see you already took it couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, I know a method that will earn you +/- 200$ a day with 30min of work with this specific domain.
You can read more about it on the page below.

http://www.partnerwithpaul.com (removed affiliate link)

(you do need to enter your name and e-mail to receive the method though)

ps. If you want to sell your domain, I'm willing to pay 700$ for it (paypal or wire)
pss. Why am I telling you this?? My first good deed of the year...lol
I've never received any sort of offers on a domain, and I don't know what to make of it. My first instinct is to discard it as an attempted scam or something else shady. Anyone have experience or advice?

This is a very common (and getting old...) phishing email. I would strongly advise you not to respond to it.

As I said, it was obviously fishy, but I was more interested in what the scam was, as opposed to if it was.

The sender is clearly punting an affiliate link, so he is selling some kind of domain flipping product or course.

Regarding the offer of the $700, I reckon yes, he will ask for some kind of info - i.e it's a phish. First time I have seen a phish combined with an affiliate pitch, tho - the guy is ambidextrous!

    Hello,
I had an actual phone call from a company that wanted to buy my domain, they offered me a nice number and then I called a domain broker that wound up getting me almost ten times the offered amount.

Paul Myers is some MLM shady artist who's been going around doing things that are.. well.. Shady. Just Google his name.

Another clarification that has been made many times already but needs to be made again, is that this is NOT the Paul Myers we know of on the Warrior Forum!
