The Heck is Going On, Paypal?

So, I've done countless deals through paypal. I've been paid and paid plenty of people through my account. No problems ever, EVER.

Then last week, I sold something on ebay for a friend, just to get that out of his storage. And suddenly, my funds are going to be held by paypal because I am a risk of running away with the money.

What?

Then, I tried paying for something today, but it wouldn't just let me do a instant payment. Only my smartconnect account or e-check. I've never had to use e-checks.

What the heck is going on?

That's bizarre. Maybe it's your turn to get hit with the eBay seller stick. They seem to hate the small time sellers on there. I gave up selling, only buy things now. The fees are redonk.

That's Paypal for ya. I had my account limited due to "suspicious activity". I have used Paypal for over 4 years now and never had a problem. Recently, I moved from Canada to Spain and done everything I was told to do. Open a new account in Spain, transfer the remaining funds from Canada to my new Spanish account and close the Canadian account. I have verified my bank account and credit card but that wasn't enough. Now they want bank statements as well. I sent my bank statements, which were recognized as being legit but my account is still limited due to suspicious activity. Have been trying to withdraw my money now since October. As soon as I get my money back (if I ever do), I will never use them again. They are taking the p.ss.

Just read some of the horror stories of other Paypal users.

Just like bravo75 said, that's PayPal for you. They lock your account if they even suspect the slightest. They automatically assume the worst. I've had my account locked numerous times, it's more than annoying. I just opened a merchant account. Solved the problem.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll just have to see what happens. S'what I get for selling something instead of buying, lol.

Also, become paypal premier. Sometimes a call to them unlocks your funds. Works for me.

Not really new, or weird. eBay/PayPal started doing this almost a year ago. It's more so an eBay thing than it is a PayPal thing, should release the funds as soon as you provide a tracking number or the customer leaves positive feedback for you.
