Hi to all,

My name is Maria, i am marketing assistant in a female web portal and i am new in affiliate marketing and totally clueless .One of the targets of our website is to be able to connect and advise women on local and international purchase decision making as wel as making itself useful to women on education and career promotion. We seek affiliate partners outside from Greece targeting women from interior design to online education. The problem is and initial q is ...How do we approach them? Our affiliate network has done some good job but haven't networked us with content relevant or supportive affiliates.

How do i make an affiliate proposal? What should it consist of?
What if the company/website doesn't have an affiliate programme, how do i convince them to give it a try with us?
How do i choose if its better to approach a company/website for inbound marketing rather than for affiliate marketing?
Lastly should we outsource this function and to who ...PR or Affiliate management team?

Thanks to all ,
If it seems that i have no idea about affiliate marketing is....because i don't.

You should gather up the list of the websites offering interior design products and may start a telemarketing. The telemarketers would get the appointments and someone from you guys who can make decisions would talk to those business owners about it and inform them about the benefits your company is offering. .

About creating a proposal, you guys need to sit together and see what you guys offering which no one else is. Gather up all those points and hire a experienced writer who writes sales pages and get it done by a professional. Now if that sales page would be done by a professional, it would automatically convince it.

You must choose businesses outside your country for affiliate marketing and you may choose someone good inside your country for inbound marketing.

I am a big fan of outsourcing projects but you should be on top of everything and keeping and eye if everyone is doing their job properly. Just divide all this process into different parts and yes outsource it and keep an eye which part is functioning properly and which isn't. This way, you may make appropriate changes whenever it is needed.

I hope, these tips will help you.

Welcome to the Warrior Forum, Maxi13 You've come to the right place for your questions to be answered. You'll learn a LOT here!

Before you go starting something, make sure you know exactly what you want to do.

Affiliate marketing is a process where YOU market/sell something created by someone else, and you and the product creator split (50/50, 60/40) the proceeds. You seem to be looking for people to be affiliates (sellers) of your service.

Before you go to another webmaster, you need hard facts for your business so you may present them to your prospective "affiliates".
    • What is your current cost of acquisition for a customer
    • What is a customer worth to you
    • How much are you willing to pay for leads
    • How much traffic do you get
    • How are you driving this traffic

Find these things out about your business, and ask these same questions of your 'affiliate' prospects.

Also, how are you going to contact these people, by sending an email to "webmaster" at the site in question, or have you researched enough to know the name of the principals involved in your target?

Are there others doing something similar? Study what they are doing, and emulate it, but not copy it.

Internet marketing is not about re-inventing the wheel, its about finding what works for you, then scaling it to profitable levels. What works for company A may not be good for your company, but it might give you ideas.

As for the creation of the proposal, write it up as a business proposal and spell-check and grammar check it twice, then send it to someone else on the team to do the same. Be professional and conversational. Tell them that there may be compensation for those involved (if you're offering compensation, but don't give $ amounts yet), then close with something like "If you'd like more details please reply or call".

If they reply, give them the details they want, a few they didn't ask for, and PICK UP THE PHONE. Call these people so they connect with you on a personal/human level, not just as a business deal.

Remember, you are not looking to see if the website has an affiliate program, you are asking THEM to join YOUR affiliate program, which is a bit different.

Take a look at nanacast.com for a LOT of information about creating an affiliate program.

    Best of luck!
