The benefits of getting fans means that your product, or website, or whatever you are promoting has the potential to become viral. When someone likes your fanpage then it will appear of their wall that they "like" this product. All of their friends will see that they "like" the fan page and can in turn also like the page.

It means that you can reach a very wide and unlimited stream of people with your fanpage. It doesn't take much to set it up and if successful you can bring in a lot of traffic for free to your sales page or site.

Facebook is an easy way to make profits online without investing money or a lot of time.

When people get 'liked', it posts on other 'friends' walls too.

So a lot of companies do this with the hopes of an application or product going 'viral', if it gets enough 'likes'. Facebook is changing their algorithm though so this won't be as effective in the future. (Already isn't now).

I would make sure you have built up a network of friends before building a Fan page. Then you can suggest the fan page to all of your friends with one click.

So can I somehow send messages to people who like or are fans of whatever I have?

The only reason I'm curious is because I saw something somewhere about being able to private message people in bulk somehow. I know you can bulk message friends but I thought there was a way that when you post on your fanpage, group or page wall or whatever, it sends a message to everyone who liked it or are fans of it.

Does that sound accurate to some extent and can someone elaborate a little bit by any chance?

Yes, you can send messages to them. However (a good part due to Zynga), facebook has been 'changing' the way you can message people (also because it was getting way too spammy). Now you need good content, and need to develop a relationship with your fans for the advertising to be effective.

Yes as there is an option whether to remove it on their page streams if they don't want to.

The benefit of being "liked" is they are the people who will join your network. For me, the more likes you get, the more traffic you'll get on your website or page since people will be curious about you.

Once you have a lot of likes on your page, you can reach out to more information by posting updates that are helpful for them. Another benefit is once they find this helpful, they can share it with their networks and get more fans for you in the process.
