OFFICIAL Results: Collect More Optins By Adding A Question

I posted a thread about this a bit ago but they were only short term results. I now have more data.

I have been testing two different optin forms. One of them was the standard

A while back I started to realize that the internet has become a lot more participatory. Also being in sales for so long EVERYONE feels like THEIR circumstances are unique and want to voice that. No cookie cutter. Also, has anyone gotten one of those surveys in the mail about a topic you had an interest in and they wanted you to answer a few questions and you did it even though you didn't recieve anything in return?

I thought that was pretty powerful so I adapted that to my optin form

I am in the weight loss niche. My new optin form looked like this.

Name
Email
How Much Weight Do You Need To Lose? (dropdown with different choices)

I have noticed an increase of about 30-40%

I think people LIKE to answer questions and put their opinion or input in.

I have not tested multiple questions or questions where they need to actively type in an answer but that will be next.

Also this allow you to send a more targeted letter to your subscribers. For example in the make money niche someone may be wanting to learn ppc or blogging or cpa and if they answer that question you can send more targeted follow ups. I dont know how to separate them but ill have to call aweber to see if that can even be done.

If you try this out post your results here so we know if this ups your %

    Jake,

It's great that you are sharing this.

One of the keys to why it has increased your conversions is that the question you are asking relates specifically to the core want of your target audience.

Just adding a question for the sake of adding a question might not even increase conversion. But having the question hone in on the core want or pain of the market is both simple and brilliant.

    Well done.
