I asked a bunch of questions on getting traffic today and then saw that actually, though slowly I am starting to get a little bit.

With that in mind what do you guys think I should do to the main page to get sales. I think that my website is pretty stealthy in how it is layed out. I don't feel like it screams " I'm trying to sell you something!"

Which I think as much as I'm researched is good, but I feel that it may be too subtle. Your thoughts please?

Thanks in advance!

        No worries

I think the site looks quite basic, not to be rude, but it reminds me of a free website builder quite alot.

I'm guessing it's been built from a template, perhaps consider using a cleaner template and investing in some custom graphics to add personalisation, would be very simple.

      Here are some improvements:

-Include the optin form above the fold of the webpage.

-Use a dark navy blue background perhaps.

-Move the red headline higher up

-Use a more structured page border, centralized and a narrower width.

-Remove the links at the top of the page, which will cause a distraction for people to click away from the site.

-The squeeze page should have minimum distractions.

      -Remove the adsense ad

-Keep 2 optins, 1 above the fold, and one at the bottom.

For me i think that the print is to small, especially if you are targeting cholesterol which your demographic will be mostly old people, i would definitely move the email capture somewhere more visible to.

It has been mentioned on here that I shouldn't have adds on my squeeze page. Once I change my privacy policy and everything else should I maybe put adsense on the article pages of my site?

Thank you very much, I am working on changing it all up as quick as I can. Just brainstorming and researching.

I would say that your adsense account will soon be canceled is you do not get a privacy policy on your site that conforms to their "laws".

There are a number of issues with this site, but I'll mention the top 3--The site is far too wide for easy line reading width, and it is also off-center in FF. The sales letter and call to action are not strong. The opt-in box is kind of lost on the page.

Also, there is some kind of pop up... there was no text, not sure what that was all anout.

I would think this page might not convert too well. Once you open for business, you may discover a high bounce rate. Test, and see what happens.

      1. Shorten the headline, but keep it in the same context.

      2. Make better use of your vertical space. People don't scroll, Google the term "above the fold".

      3. Use Sub-Headlines, change font sizes, use italics and different colors. Anything that helps chunk the copy into smaller bit-sized pieces. But don't over-do it. Just two or three styles applied consistently.

      4. To echo donhx, use multiple calls to action. But in just one or two different styles. Do not junk it up with lots of different buttons and text calls.

      Best of luck, Michelle

The choice is yours. Are you trying to get sales ON your website or FROM your website? With a product like yours, it may make the most sense to generate sales ON your website. As I visited your site, your opt-in box is not at the top...why not? I did't really like the google ads when I first landed on the site, as it distracted me from reading your headline. The headline is a good start, but maybe something more along the lines of "2011 Study Shows That 33% More People Died From a Heart Attack in 2010 Due To High Cholesterol; Authorities Say That Trend Will Continue If Quick Action Is Not Taken" or "The 3 Secrets Doctors Won't Tell You About Your Cholesterol That May Put You In The Emergency Room Tomorrow". Point taken...it's a lot stronger and focuses on the pain. The way it is now I envision you smiling and saying "aw shucks" as you try to get me to believe that I really want to walk with you. How well is this page converting? I hope this helps...you asked for it.

Yes I did I love constructive criticism. As it is a new site I haven't made any sales yet. That is probably due to the fact that i haven't made the changes everyone has so generously given.

    Thanks so much to everyone

Center align or have margin set to auto. The empty space on the left side seems weird (Unless you are going to add ads over there)

Purely on the site and the aesthetics rather than content:

    1) There is large gap on the left of the screen - either remove it or put one on the right to center it out
    2) The text was hard to read as it was poorly formatted
    3) Not sure about the pictures of flowers everywhere; sure you probably don't want pictures of clogged arteries, but something better than flowers would be good
    4) The template is poor, I'm sure you can find a more professional looking one for little/no cost

Aside from that, best of luck!

That's ture, your template is a bit poor, I know that I can understand what are you talking about in your blog clearly, but the design of your blog had reduced the attraction.

You think that maybe you are being too subtle? You don't feel like it screams "I'm trying to sell you something?"

    Dear Friend,

I'm not going to say whether it is a good thing or bad thing... marketing is personal and everyone has their own opinions. But don't, IMHO, think you need to go harder on the sales pitch.

I had to scroll all the way to bottom to click on the affiliate link. You definitely need to have a clickable link above the fold.
