What's THE MOST $ You would spend on an IM product?

I did try and paint a hypothetical picture for you and make it specific: 'a product that you MUST HAVE' and something you have already decided on purchasing... what would you pay? what can you afford? how's the economy doing? type of question.

To answer everyone's 'it's too vague' questions:

It's a viral marketing script that has been proven/tested to get over 100K unique visitors per day (to virtually any niche) within 1-2 months of launching... and makes on average $1K per day (if monetized properly)

I have sold scripts for over $10,000 before.. It just depends upon the market you are after and ofcourse how hungry they really are for something that is 100 times better than what they have..

But I understand your point of calling it a "script"

If you've ever taken a statistics class, you'll know that the way you ask a question and of whom you ask it can have a huge impact on the answers and ultimately skew the results. I think that's what's happened here.

If your target market is a group of people like those here on the WF, then the answers will be a good measurement for you. If your target market is a group of people completely different from those here on the WF, then the answers you get will be almost worthless. The ONLY answer that counts is the one you get from the people in your target market.

Personally, I've paid as much as $1,500 for an IM course -- and that course was by someone who's not talked about much here and has never shown her face here as far as I know. And as far as I can tell, her target market is VERY DIFFERENT from the type of people that normally hang out here.

I've also purchased Mike Filsaime's 7 Figure Code, which I believe runs close to $1,000, though I bought it during the launch phase and paid the reduced amount of about $500 (if I remember correctly).

But the very first IM course I ever purchased was Cory Rudl's course (now Derek Gehl's) for $200.

I don't know how much that helps you since I have no idea if I'm in your target market. But it would be a better idea to ask THEM that question. If you don't have a target market, then you need to decide on one and go ask them.

But here are some general rules of thumb for marketing ANY info product:

1. People will pay more for specialized information. (If you're selling an IM product, you'll get more if you tailor it for a specific niche.) If you're selling to the general work-at-home crowd, you'll have to work harder to command higher prices and you may still be confined to the lower-value, lower-price points.

2. If you're selling online marketing to the OFFLINE crowd, you'll get more. (And if you make it specific to a particular industry, you can charge more. See #1.)

3. People will pay more for a physical version than just a digital version. (And you'll do better to offer some of your information digitally to meet instant gratification wants and then offer the bulk of your info in a physical product to build and keep the perceived value in your customers' eyes.)

Beyond that, getting a higher price for your information is just a matter of building value in the prospect's eyes. Add bonuses like special reports (don't call them e-books) and resources.
