Is storing password in firefox safe ?

Just wanted to know if it is safe to store passwords in firefox...

    If in doubt dont do it, lol!

    Im sure many password protection software is safe,but there will always be people trying to find a way in.!

    I had my google account snatched the other day! all back and safe now, but im going to be a lot more carefull in the future.

      It is not secure enough to store your passwords in Firefox! People should take way more care in protecting their privacy!

      I recommend that you use the free extension LastPass. This one will keep your passwords secure and you can access them from anywhere.

    Storing passwords in Firefox is only safe if you use the master password. Otherwise, anyone with access to your computer can get a list of your passwords, PLAINTEXT.

    To use a master password, go to Tools->Options->Security->Check the box 'Use a master password'

    It isn't safe actually, people have ways of hacking into it, so there's a software which is open source and good called KeePass.

      I find letting Firefox remember my passwords is very handy. Any time I forget one all I have to do is open the Options in FF and see what the password is. :rolleyes:

      Actually, I agree with those who recommend LastPass. Great password manager (and more).
