Trends for Apple, Google and Facebook

Here is my observation

About 2 years ago, you could not talk bad about Apple or Google - Facebook was still somewhat new and people were still using myspace or orkit, etc. So, it seems like there was no alternative to Apple and Google, but there were alternatives to Facebook.

Today, Android has provided the alternative to Apple, and people do talk bad about apple now. As a developer, I know lot of developers who don't want to develop for apple, but for android. Because apple has made it harder for them. With windows phones out, lot of microsoft developers won't develop for android either - they will move to windows phones.

I know that at this point lot of people are not paying much attention to windows phones but microsoft has tens of millions of developers all over the world, so imagine what can happen in next 2-3 years.

Facebook has no alternative anymore- it just simply killed myspace, etc. Google have more alternatives now (Facebook and other social networking sites, for example linkedin, have populor).

I think this is what I am trying to get to, for today's market comeup with products for Android and Facebook.

Facebook is thinking of going public in 2012. It will be valued around 50 Billion dollars in IPO (yes 50B), so if you develop something for facebook today then you are set for next two to three years.

I will develop products for Facebook, android and windows phone.
