Gmail account locked out

I was just checking out a Social Bookmarking site I have been looking at Bookmark Demon but desided to try the the free trial of TRAFFIC BUG as it works on a Mac and then about 15 mins later my gmail account was locked out. Has anyone had a problem like this before. My account seems to be working again now, after about 30 minutes where I could not sign in. Has anyone else had a similar problem because I cannot afford to lose access to my work email addy.

Thanks in advance for your help

change the password, and the passwords to any site that has that email address. NOW!
If you have any bank accounts or Paypal accounts linked to that email, you might want to check your past transactions for anything fishy. And you probably will want to uninstall that program and run a virus scan

Thanks for the reply I'll get on it now. I had a big update on my Droid X last night and wonder if that is what caused it, I really hope someone has not got hold of my password :-(

I agree that you should change all passwords connected to that account.

But the bigger question is why are you using a gmail account as your business email address and risking losing it at the whim of google?

Its just my opinion, but hosting anything related to your business on a free platform is a bad idea.

I know that we have all done it, but it is just asking for something bad to happen eventually.

Yeah my girlfriend got locked out of her gmail account for 3 straight weeks. I don't think there is customer service at google because they sure as hell didn't reply to any of the twenty emails she sent them.

    Be careful banking on gmail.

You are right about google's customer service I manage a Google Apps domain and it is great but if you have a problem you just need to search the online forums because you have very little chance of getting someone from Google to help you.
