Dear Warriors,
Currently I run few websites on the ipage.com servers.
However, I am not happy with their servers speed, time response, and sql errors

I am looking for a place that will let me host 8 websites, it needs to be good for wordpress and most php apps, no bandwich limits, FAST time response and of cource good up time %

Would you recommend hostgator for share hosting?

Don´t know about ipage but Hostgator is the best of the best. Their customer service is stellar, no fuss, down to earth, always exceeding my expectation, hands on right away. They are pleasant to deal with and technically you have unlimitted server space and all the other good stuff.

I was with Hostgator for years on shared hosting with absolutely no problems with about 24 large websites including WordPress.

I'm still with them using reseller hosting - same excellent service.

Thanks, how is the server's speed? could you post a link to your website that seats on hostgator's servers? do you experience lots of 500 page errors? sql errors?

        Hi,

Apologies, but I never reveal any of my sites. I don't want to run the risk of being "click-bombed" (I use AdSense), or make it easy for people to steal my niches, that's all.

However, I can tell you that most of my sites use Wordpress, in addition to other PHP/MySQL-based scripts, and they're very, very fast. I've never witnessed any SQL or other errors.

I suspect that they will have short periods of downtime (as all web-hosts do) from time-to-time, but overall their uptime levels are very good, and I've never noticed any of my sites being inaccessible (and I check them frequently, every day, as I work).

Customer service is also very good.

So that's why I recommend them.

Despite some negativity you might run into on the forum and elsewhere,

            I highly recommend Hostgator.

They had a prob the other day, but hey, doodie happens, complex electronics involved. It doesn't happen very often,
over all very dependable for shared hosting, beyond that, can't say.

            I have tried a few.

For overall cost, dependability and support, never had a problem that I can remember.

I came from Ipage, after a month of horrible horrible service, I wrote them off as a loss. A few days ago I bought hostgator hosting and they are awesome!

We recently moved our 70+ domains from Dreamhost to Hostgator, and everything went smoothly. Everything works perfectly, now. Before (on Dreamhost), when I wanted to update a WordPress blog, in 99% of the cases, it couldn't do so automatically. It took minutes, if not longer, to update a blog, because I first had to try the automatic update, and when it failed (almost always), I had to upload the files and upgrade manually.

The same procedure takes less than 5 seconds on HostGator.

They have very effective and friendly support.

I give them 5 stars out of 5.

I've been on hostgator for several years with a dozen sites and have been very pleased. Their service is excellent and on the rare occasion I had to call, I was helped immediately.

My site did get hacked once so I'd suggest a really good password

I use vexxhost, got a sweet deal during the holidays ($41/year) and its got lots of great features.

I don't know why so many people use HostGator, its pretty damn expensive and there are many other hosting companies that offer the same features for less.
