Should I use testimonials for all my products - Even those products that don't cost much?

Hi all,

I was thinking of improving my sales page with video testimonials...But here is the thing. Most of my products now are low cost products ($9.95) so I was thinking would having 2-3 video testimonials increase sales?

    Yes!

The more proof your show on your sales page (testimonials, case studies, etc). the more people will believe the product delivers the benefits that are advertised.

If you were making a case before a judge, you would want to have as many witnesses as possible. Same goes here.

    Duh!
    Of course.
Your low-price deal is the key to your long-term success. Each buyer is worth a big back end paycheck. So your $7 sale might ultimately be worth over $1,000 if you do it right. So, what was the question again?

Haha...I know it sounds like a dumb question because I was looking through some small reports sales page and they don't seem to have testimonials. I guess I will start writing to those who already bought the reports to provide me with those testimonials...Thanks!

I think it will definitely increase sales.

People are social! And they really believe if others have success with you system.

As in real life... You will buy a book if your friend says that it's worth it.

However if noone says positive words about it you will doubt...

One piece of advise, offer your buyers the option of giving you video OR written testimonials. Some people may be put off by the video part of the whole thing .

        Hi Fated82,

If it was me personally, here is roughly what I'd do and I'm probably not covering all the variables.

I'd test it now, I'd test it with 1, 2, 3 and however many text testimonials, 1, 2, 3, and however many video tesimonials.

I'd just test the hell out of it.

I do agree with one thing though, let the customer decide if he/she wants to watch any video's, I hate that autoplay rubbish.

I'd always use testamonials, especially on cheap products it shows that even though the product is cheap people have still bothered to respond with a testamonial

Having 2 - 3 good testimonials will almost unquestionably increase sales.

Whether having 2 - 3 video testimonials will increase them, and whether it may increase them more, or less, than text testimonials, is something you can discover only by split-testing. Don't forget that adding video to a site can lose some people.

I have never left a page because they had video. I have only left without buying when they "only" had video.

I've only left "over video" when they've had autoplay video, I think (which - like many people, for quite a variety of possible reasons, I do regularly). But I think some people do? And even if not, there will undoubtedly be people who'd read text testimonials but not click the video to play video testimonials, which will lose some of their impact? Of course, that may be more than compensated for by the effect on "other people": one has to test, I think?

Sounds good. Will test with some video and text testimonials then. I too hate auto-replays, therefore, I won't add autoreplay testimonials however great they are.
